Really Great Tour

Reviewed by: Hokkaido First-Timer, 2016/08/26

It was my first time in Hokkaido. since I wanted to use my time wisely, I took this tour since I wanted to see the beautiful Hokkaido scenery.

Our guide along the way didn't just give us information about the places we visited but also information about local food, lesser-known stories about Hokkaido and many other interesting things.

For Furano and Biei, it was just as beautiful as I had seen it in pictures. The lavender was not in bloom when I went, so that was unfortunate, but sunflowers were in full bloom and they looked fantastic.

We spent our time on the tour well, which was great. I do wish we could have had a bit more time, but with tours that finish within one day, they're bound to feel short so it can't be helped.
Next time I'd like to go during the lavender season.

First Time in Hokkaido!

Reviewed by: Anzu, 2016/08/26

I took the opportunity to take the Furano/Biei bus tour when I was on a business trip. The Hokkaido scenery was incredibly beautiful.

Since it was past the Obon holidays in mid-August, the lavender in Furano had been harvested already. But the flowers in Biei were exceptional. We traveled about 400 km but it was a productive day! But it's probably best to visit during the lavender season.

Best Season

Reviewed by: Potekotan, 2016/08/26

Biei: I saw the scenery from the bus window, and our guide's explanation made the journey fun. At the lookout platform, there as a line for white corn. I got to try the local food and even raw, the corn was really sweet and delicious.

The blue pond: The scenery was even more beautiful than I had imagined. I was so taken in by the almost transparent blue color that I was in a daze when I took my pictures and was a little bit late for the meeting time. The guide was worried and I caused a bit of trouble for the others on the tour...

Lunch: We had lunch on a lovely cafe terrace in the Goto Sumio Museum. We had a wonderful lunch from soup to dessert with soft Kamifurano pork with perfectly seasoned vegetables. It was really delicious.

Goto Sumio Museum: Even though I have no artistic ability, I was totally transported to another world. Many people were buying the postcards at the kiosks by the exit. Next to the museum there was a melon shop. They served cold sliced melon and even though I had melon for dessert at lunch, I ate some there too.

Farm Tomita: It was the best season for lavender, and I was impressed by the lavender field in full bloom. There were also many other types of flower fields and they were all so beautiful. I also enjoyed the food like the lavender ice cream and lavender flavored ramune.

The tour was from morning until evening and even though traveling from place to place took a long time, our guide was great and we got a lot of helpful advice for making the trip comfortable. Lunch was especially good. The warm fresh food and the dessert was the most delicious melon! (I don't usually like melon much but these melons were really tasty)
