An amazing and unique experience!
Reviewed by: kaywaiian , 2024/04/20We had a magnificent time with our instructor for the food class! He was instructive, patient, and made the experience the best it could be. You can really tell he loves what he does, and teaching people about it. If we ever come back to Japan, we will definitely be taking another class.
I also want to note: these classes can be taken in English is need be. Our instructor apologized for his “bad English” - and then spoke perfect English the whole time. I was like “no- WE apologize for OUR bad Japanese >_<“
Great fun for all ages. I took my husband and his guy friend, and they loved it more than they thought. Just 10/10 experience.

Amazing experience!
Reviewed by: Lexi, 2024/04/16I booked this experience for my boyfriend's birthday as he's a big fan of plastic food, so we wanted to learn how to make it and try it out for ourselves. If you're worried that this experience may only be fun for kids or families, we're both in our early 30s and had a really fun time of it!
The owner told us about the history of the craft while he taught us how to make our plastic fried rice, and it was really interesting to learn about!
They have a lot of fun trinkets and jewelry for sale as well that make amazing gifts for friends and family!
Would highly recommend this experience for anyone interested.

Great, unique experience!

The instructor was very patient, knowledgeable and friendly with a little help from Google translate. A great activity

I was pleased with my end product (the ramen bowl) and my guide packaged it very well in a secure box.
I would come back again to complete some of the other food options like the parfait.
I definitely recommend this activity. It doesn't take too long, isn't very messy and the end result looks great.

Lots of fun!

We made bowls of ramen, and it was interesting to see the process and I am grateful that the instruction could be given in English. Very fun!

I laughed when one of the staff members to please flatten the ramen noodles like a frisbee. These are awesome souvenirs and me and the boyfriend enjoyed it a lot. It's a unique experience for sure. The class itself doesn't take too long, maybe 30-40 minutes? It depends on how many things you're making and if the instructor is busy. If you have the chance, i highly recommend this experience! You take your product home right away, they packaged my deluxe parfait very carefully in a box and then into a bag to take home. It'll take 24 hours for the silicone (the "whipped cream" to fully harden.

Fun experience for family

Fun and unique experience
Reviewed by: Sabine, 2023/08/07After reading the excellent reviews I had to book this activity for me and my 16-year-old son (mid July 2023) and I have to agree with the other reviewers: it was a lot of fun and a unique experience. The instructor was really nice and helpful, he explained everything to us in English and was very patient and supportive. We had time to choose our "ingredients" and both our ice cream sundaes turned out really well. Due to the perfect packaging we brought them back home safely. We highly recommend trying it yourself!

Japanese Ramen Making Experience

He was a perfect fit for this class since the laying of the ramen noodles, and particular placement of the garnishes are more meticulous. The instructor was very thorough in explaining the materials we would be using, had an example placed next to you on the table so you understood how it would look like. The place is very neat and clean and he really cheers you along as your working on your ramen making.

Fun Family Experience!

Found out about this experience from another family traveling through Tokyo and it looked like fun. It was much more fun than expected but definitely not as easy as it looks. Definitely need to channel your creative side.
We hope to do this again the next time we’re in Japan and attempt the tempura experience!

Now I know how the plastic food I see everywhere is made.

I learned a bit about the history of Samples and got to make a souvenir that ‘ thanks to the instructors help ‘ came out perfect. Also this was a great place to get souvenirs for everyone back home. Not many souvenirs say Japan better than a plastic sushi key chain.

The staff is very friendly and patience in introducing the activity, as well as some history of the Food Sample Culture in Japan, which is a bonus point. You can tell he is very enthusiastic and enjoying this experience. Just an extra note, we communicated without any issue in English.
You get to choose your five pieces of colourful assorted accessories for your sundae. The cup of the sundae and the colourful jam at the bottom will be provided. You have to first fill up the base of the sundae cup, then the twirling cream at the top and place your assortments as you wish. The staff carefully checked every steps of the process, also fix any errors professionally. You will be guarenteed a outstanding food sample even for your first try.
As for the advice for future participants, since it takes a while for the food sample to dry off, it is better you plan your activites accordingly. Although, the staff did carefully stabilised the food samples in a provided paper box (in a very meticulous way, props to that) and bag so it was not an issue for us.

Interesting class, nice tutor.

The tools are well prepared, instructions are clear, the tutor is very nice. And the most important thing is we like our product so much!
Just one concerning point for foreigners that we need to buy some boxes to store our product well. Or else, we are not able to bring them to our home safely since we need to take flight.
The total experience is amazing. I will recommend it to my friends. I'd also like to try other food sample classes from this tutor when I travel to Tokyo later.

Fun Plastic Craft in Tokyo
Reviewed by: Stevie, 2019/04/24This workshop was easy to find, using google maps. It is a small, family-run business. We were welcomed warmly and given excellent instructions on how to put together our sample foods. My husband created sushi, my daughter (8) and I made sundaes.
We all had a great time, love our unique souvenirs, and would recommend this experience to others. It takes about a day to dry/set, but is well packaged for flying home.
The sample industry is 90+ years old, so taking part in this is trying a piece of Japanese culture.

Good learning experience

Amazing Experience!!

The owners were absolutely lovely, gave us a brief history on food models and then we got into the activity. We made mini parfait photo clips and got to choose 5 toppings before assembling everything. I would love to do this again if i was back in tokyo!

Food, glorious fake food!

Enjoyable hands-on experience
Reviewed by: Peter Lam, 2017/04/27Fun-filled two hours learning how to assemble a bowl of Japanese raman noodles food sample. The instructor Mr Saito is very friendly and helpful. We talked half in English and Japanese (my broken Japanese simply makes the class even more funnier.)
Really realistic food sample. All semi-finished parts and tools are well-prepared waiting for me when I arrived at the workshop.
Good for children to adults, in particular for those who would like to have some interactive hands-on experience.
