Fun for kids and adults!Reviewed by: mari, 2016/08/12
I went with my friend and her son (who is in first grade).
The inside of the boat was really beautiful and it was not a tatami room so I was glad we could sit on chairs. There were about 20 participants in total, so there was plenty of space onboard and on the deck.
The food we had included sashimi, clams steamed in sake, tempura, and other wonderful dishes. There was so much that I couldn't eat it all. While the boat was moving, a small boat pulled up alongside us and sold us some tsukudani. I brought them home as a souvenir.
The weather was good and we enjoyed the scenery outside. The scenery from the boat was also great but once we got close to the Rainbow Bridge and Skytree, the boat anchored so we could get a great view from the deck. It was a bit hot during the day, but became cooler at night, so you might want to bring a jacket for your child depending on the season.
Our elementary schooler had a great time without being bored and we adults had more fun that we thought!

Good RideReviewed by: Neurolog, 2016/04/25
Everything that was expected was delivered and both the food and service are OK. The only problem is the scenic cruise itself: not many attractions and the views of the Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge are a little disappointing. Average.
Thank you for your feedback. I hope you come back to Tokyo at the best season for cruise, summer! You can see a beautiful sunset at Odaiba if it is clear weather on the day.
Yakatabune Dinner CruiseReviewed by: S. O'Malley, 2015/07/12
Our Traditional Yakatabune Dinner Cruise on the Sumida River was a wonderful experience combining aspects of aspects of traditional and modern Japan. Our 3 hour trip on an old houseboat included a stunning traditional meal of sashimi & tempura while viewing the lights & architecture of modern Tokyo. From first meeting with the helpful cruise organisers, as non-Japanese, all aspects of the cruise were carefully explained to us. On boarding we found our table already set with a fresh sashimi plate and as we progressed down the river piping hot tempura arrived at our table. The meal was a generous serve and came with an all you can drink bar. The crew were willing to help at any stage and the other guests were very friendly. After passing under the rainbow bridge we spent some time in Tokyo Bay looking at other boats and the lights of Odaiba. We are frequent visitors to japan and this was one of our highlights. We tried to investigate a number of Yakatabune experiences on the internet and selected this one as the most user friendly site for English speakers.
Thank you for your review on Yakatabune Cruise and giving us five stars. We are so happy to hear from you. We always welcome foreign customers as well as Japanese ones. But sometimes we have to do more because there's some incomplete communication. `Omotenashi`, Japanese style of service, that's what we try to give our customers. We hope you will come back someday near future. Tsurishin
