This morning tour starts with a visit to a Buddhist temple founded in 1703, in one of Tokyo's shitamachi (old town) districts. Take a quick tour of the temple and then experience a dramatic Buddhist purification ceremony with powerful drumming, chanting and a bonfire. You can even have your bag blessed over the healing smoke!

Purified and energized by the ceremony, you will then explore an old neighborhood off the beaten track, filled with old shops selling tea, knives, colorful tenugui hand towels and more! Visit a craftsman’s studio, sample local street snacks, and look for one-of-a-kind gifts for friends and family. Enjoy the traditional atmosphere, great gift shopping and some delicious snacks!
