    Redoutensaal The program features the most famous waltz and operetta melodies by Johann Strauss, Franz Léhar and opera aries by Mozart. The Hofburg Orchestra, led by conductor Gert Hofbauer, is composed of 36 musicians and 6 international vocal soloists from Vienna’s largest orchestral societies.
  • The Redoutensaal (Redouten Hall)
    Hofburg_Redoutensaal_3 Built as a opera house in 1705 by order of Emperor Josef, grand baroque operas were performed. Ludwig van Beethoven’s 8th Symphony as well as Franz Schubert’s Symphony Nr 8 (The Unfinished) premiered here. Hear works by the composers: Franz, Josef Strauss, Mozart in this spectacular venue.
  • The Festsaal (Festival Hall)
    Hofburg Festsaal (5)_comp A smaller hall leads to the grand Festival Hall, which was erected under Emperor Franz Joseph I. in 1908 and completed only in 1923.
    The impressive ceiling frescos by the painter Schramm display Emperor Franz Josef I’s device: „Viribus Unitis“ (with united forces) and the reigning power Austria.
