  • 09:30 Your South Iceland Adventure Begins
    Travelling east across Hellisheiði heath past Mt. Hengill volcano you will see an active central volcano with enormous magma chambers that powers some of Iceland‘s geothermal energy plants. Travel past the green house village Hveragerði through Selfoss town, the commercial hub of south Iceland.
  • Explore the iconic Seljalandsfoss waterfall
    south3 Arguably the most picturesque waterfall in Iceland, the 60 m tall Seljalandsfoss cascades down from ancient sea cliffs into a shallow pool. Walking behind the waterfall provides some excellent photo ops with spectacular views out to the countryside.
  • Visit the famous Skógafoss waterfall
    228322 From Skógar you travel eastwards past Mýrdalsjökull glacier and the formiddable Mt. Katla volcano to the charming village of Vik where you will explore black sand beaches and enjoy fantastic views out to picturesque rock formations of Reynisdrangar.
  • Enter the enormous lava field Eldgjárhraun
    The lava field covers an area of about 700 km2 and is considered one of the largest lava flows to occur in Iceland since the end of the last ice age. Visit another area of black volcanic sands between Skeiðarárjökull glacier and the sea.
  • Visit the beautiful nature reserve of Skaftafell
    Located in Vatnajökull National Park, tongues of glaciers flow down from the enormous Vatnajökull glacier to create majestic scenery begging to be explored. Then journey to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon located at the end of Breiðamerkurjökull glacier with a depth of around 250 metres.
  • Relax in your overnight accommodation
    242740 After you have enjoyed the dramatic scenery of Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon the course is set for a nearby accommodation where where we will enjoy dinner (dinner is not included in tour price) and relax for the remainder of the evening.

  • Northern Lights
    208207 During winter time, if the weather is good skies clear, you might be able to experience the amazing northern lights flickering in the sky over Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon.
  • DAY2  
  • After breakfast you get to spend some time at Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon
    south3 If the lagoon is not frozen you get the chance to enjoy a boat ride on the lagoon sailing amongst icebergs in all shapes and sizes. You can also take a walk by the lagoon and explore the black sand shores where seals are commonly seen basking.
  • Optional one hour long glacier hike
    295797 The next adventure is an optional one hour long glacier hike with magnificent views. To join glacier hike you will need to have proper hiking boots as crampons that you need for walking on the icy surface cannot be fitted onto trainers or walking shoes.
  • Discover Dyrhólaey island
    228516 Depending on schedule and weather to tour will take you to Dyrhólaey island. Formed in a sub-aquatic eruption thousands of years ago Dyrhólaey is about 120 metres tall, home to an array of sea birds including the colourful Puffin.
  • Travel back to Reykjavik
    south3 Heading back towards the capital you will have one last stop to explore the amazing Reynisfjara shore and the strangely shaped basalt columns of Reynisdrangar.
