Beautiful Fado and excellent dinner in Porto!Reviewed by: Monika, 2015/05/11
We were picked up exactly on time from in front of our hotel on Aliados. The guide/driver was very nice and knowledgeable about the city. As we drove around the city, she told us of the history and other interesting facts about Porto. We stopped at the top of the hill for pictures before heading to the restaurant for dinner.
We had a full 3 course dinner, which was just excellent. Starter, main and dessert. I was not left wanting afterwards! We also had a free bottle of wine, which you may not believe me, but is one of the best wines I have ever drank. The music started after our starters and it comprised of 3 singers (2 female and 1 male) who sang Fado music without a microphone and were accompanied by classic guitar and Portuguese guitar. The music was touching and soulful (I actually thought I might cry) even though we didn't understand the words. The restaurant itself was not touristy either, it was an authentic and traditional venue frequented by locals.
Overall we were treated extremely well and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Porto’s culture. I highly recommend this tour, well worth the money!
