    198238 Officially called San Lorenzo del Escorial, it is situated at the foot of the mountain range Guadamara. El Escorial Monastery was built as a monastery and palace when Philip II had defeated the French army at the Battle of San Kintin in 1557, and is registered as a World Heritage Site.
