Leeds Castle, Canterbury Cathedral, DoverReviewed by: Amanda, 2015/08/07
The castle and cathedral were gorgeous. Unfortunately, there was only about an hour to an hour and a half that you had to see everything at these destinations. Additionally, there was about 50 minutes to get lunch, and maybe 20 minutes for browsing the gift shop, using the restroom and also getting back to the bus before getting onto the next destination. Considering the tour left around 9 am and made it back by around 6, there was still about another hour and a half that could have been used per the itinerary times given at purchase. The tour guide, Chrissy, was awesome. She gave a thorough explanation of the sites and even helped the passengers find alternate routes back to their hotels, as there was a tube strike starting that afternoon. To improve this tour I would allow time for browsing the area around the cathedral, which looked great for shopping and had a few nice cafes for tea and people watching. This would allow for a less rushed feel. Additionally, make sure you get back to the bus on time. We ended up leaving a lady in Canterbury. Hopefully this gal had the means to get back to London. I could be mistaken but no one called her that I could see and it would have been nice to atleast try to call and make sure she was okay. Dover was a bit of a waste of time. I enjoyed the memorial for the battle of Britain more than stopping to see the cliffs.
