Use plastic and wax to make a totally unique souvenir. The friendly owner will show you all the tricks to create a sample that will make your mouth water.
Finish your sample and take it home
You can take home your fake food art on the same day! Great for kids, or as a special gift for someone back home.

The closest station is Kita-Ikebukuro Station on the Tobu Tojo line. The workshop is a 5 minute walk from the station.

Workshop #3:
Exit the station and cross the railroad tracks. Go straight (you should see a police box, Koban, on your right). Keep on going straight past a lumber store on your left. The workshop is on the left hand side of the road, near the corner.

Restrictions

Please make sure you arrive on time for your scheduled class. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, you will either be asked to make a different sample, or you may not be able to create a sample at all. We recommend leaving yourself plenty of time to get to the workshop.
Staff will use translators to assist you.

No parking available (metered parking lot nearby).
The Tempura sample making will be held in Workshop #2, while all other samples will be made in Workshop #3. For this reason, it is not possible to book the Tempura experience at the same time as any of the other samples.
The Tempura and Tempura with Lettuce sample experiences are only available on Saturday, Sunday and holidays at 11:00, 12:00 or 13:00.
If you book for the Ice Cream Sundae at 11:00, it is possible to then make the Tempura sample at 12:00. If you book the Tempura experience at 13:00, you could then make Ramen from 14:00.

We had a lovely day creating little desserts in ikebukuro. The instructions were easy to follow and our guide was very helpful. English was okay and they showed a video so we were able to follow, plus the guide helps you. The location is so nice, you hardly believe you’re still in Tokyo it was so peaceful. I highly recommend spending an afternoon here.

I wanted to try making food samples, but I hesitated because I wasn't sure what to do with them after making things like tempura and lettuce. However, I really needed a smartphone stand, so that was perfect!

My 4 year old and I had a great time making our cupcake and tart. The teacher was so kind and patient, and could cater to us with our lack of Japanese. There was even a playground with a roller slide in the park next to the building, which was perfect for keeping our 1 year old busy while we participated.

We had such a great time creating our little cupcake and fruit tart! The instructor was so kind and spoke very good English, while simultaneously explaining to another group of visitors in Japanese. It was also a nice change of pace from running around Tokyo to sit and do a craft. We had a hard time choosing additional souvenirs (a magnet and keychain) from their wide selection, and it felt nice to buy from a local business versus the mass produced ones you’ll see in tourist shops. This was our second time booking this delightful experience—our first was last year, and we were excited to return! The location is very convenient, just a few minutes’ walk from the nearest train station, and easy to find.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality. Although the owner doesn’t speak much English, he went out of his way to communicate and make us feel welcome. We could each choose up to five silicone food samples to decorate our sundae. First, we picked the color of the sundae base and then created it under the owner's guidance. After that, we learned how to twirl the sundae, which was really fun, before moving on to the decorating part.

The finished sundaes looked adorable—so realistic and yummy-looking! It was a really fun and hands-on activity, perfect for all ages. We had a great time and made some sweet memories. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and creative experience in Japan

We went immediately when we touched down and as there were some delays at the airport and it was raining when we were traveling to the workshop, we were late and the owner of the workshop, Ito san, was standing outside looking worried and waiting for us. When he saw us, he warmly welcomed us and was patient with us whilst we settled down. Let me start by saying this art form is so cool and everywhere in Japan. And make no mistake, this is an art studio that has been passed down for generations. We had a great time and learned a lot of new things, immersing ourselves in this unique art form with wonderful teachers. Highly recommend.

The guide spoke good english so we understood everything well. He explained where the Sample factory comes from and also a lil smalltalk which was fun.

For the activity itself the creation of ice cream sample was a nice experience and turned out really pretty.
