We are a 4 minute walk from JR Hakodate Line Otaru Station.

Restrictions

Children 1 years old and above can participate in this activity.

What to bring

In summer, please wear a light tank top or camisole, as this will be easiest to wear under the kimono.
In winter please wear thermal inners with a wide collar. Leggings or spats other than stockings are also recommended. You can also bring your own muffler, gloves, and leg warmers for comfort.

Additional notes

We prepare tabi socks and underwear. We also prepare a coat and shawl, but accessories such as a bag, Japanese umbrella or fan are not included. They are available for a small rental fee of JPY 500 each, payable on the day.
Hair styling service using traditional kanzashi Japanese hair ornaments is available at 1,620 JPY per person. If you would like hair styling, please book it from the option page.
The tour schedule may be changed or cancelled due to weather or other situations.

Fun time in Otaru

Wearing kimono is a must do in Otaru. Everyone looks and treats you like you’’re a celebrity. It was loads of fun and Mina the shop owner was fantastic. She speaks some English and is very engaging. Email her your questions and she’ll get right back with you.

I really appreciate her patient on me as it did took a bit of time to choose one indeed. I took her recommendations and picked a red Kimono to put on myself while my friend chose a white one with some pink flowers on it. The staff helped us to dress in the Kimono in a long series of step. I don't think I can do all the steps by myself and thanks to this skillful nice staff, we wore the Kimono like a local japanese in the end. This nice staff even allowed us to record and take pictures during the time when she helped us to dress in the Kimono. We both look very pretty and beautiful in the Kimono. We were very happy with our look and tried to go out from the shop. There was a bit of rain when we were going out from the shop to outside in order to take some photos.
