I was looking for tourist spots in Nagoya that I could visit before the night bus departure, and the timing and price were just right, so I decided to join as a solo participant. As the reviews mentioned, it was mostly a tour for international travelers, with about 40 people, and only three of us were Japanese.
In the morning, I felt a bit anxious, but everyone was very well-mannered, acted on time, and the bus was completely quiet and comfortable. The tour guide was also very polite, explaining the pamphlets one by one at each seat, which made it easy to understand.
The bus driver was a woman, and she drove safely, allowing me to spend the day with peace of mind. I'm glad I participated. I definitely want to visit Shirakawa-go in winter, so I think I'll join again.

As the reviews mentioned, there were only foreigners and we were the only Japanese. Everyone was punctual and very well-mannered, making for a comfortable bus tour. The tour guide spoke multiple languages and came to our seats to explain the pamphlet in each language. They were very kind. In Takayama, we ran out of time since it was lunchtime.

This was my first time visiting Takayama and Shirakawa-go. It was a one-day course departing from and returning to Nagoya. The tour guide and the bus driver were wonderful, making the journey comfortable both ways. Just before arrival, the tour guide wrote notes on a map and explained it to each group. The driver was always smiling and had a great vibe.
As for the sightseeing spots, I can say they are "a must-visit at least once in your life." Especially in Shirakawa-go, I recommend the "interior tours" at several houses. I visited Meizenji, and it was incredibly fascinating to see the depth of history and culture!

Most of the participants were from overseas, and the guide provided explanations in three languages. It was also great that the bus was large and spacious. We were able to visit three tourist attractions in one day, and the time spent at each location was just right.

While Shirakawa-go is famous in winter, spring is perfect for walking and exploring. A little snow remained on the ground, and the contrast between the cherry blossoms and the gassho-zukuri architecture was lovely.

I think we were the only two Japanese participants this time. The guide was from China and explained the highlights of each location in Chinese, English, and Japanese. I felt it was a great value to visit three places at this price.

As I read in the reviews, it was quite a struggle to find the guide at the morning meeting point. Once I found someone who seemed to be the guide, I was shown a list to find my name. If it wasn't there, I had to go to the guide for a different bus and search for my name again.
Once the group gathered, we hurriedly followed the guide to the bus stop. The guide was Chinese, so the initial explanation was in Chinese, followed by a brief translation in English. There was hardly any explanation in Japanese.
Before arriving in Gujo, there was a long explanation in Chinese, then a brief summary in English and a little in Japanese. The free time was less than an hour, and those who wanted to walk freely had to do so on their own, while others followed the fast-paced guide. During the walk, there wasn't much explanation, and participants were busy taking photos while trying to catch up with the guide.
Once everyone was gathered, the bus departed for Hida Takayama. Again, the explanation was long in Chinese, with a simple English summary, and in Japanese it was very brief, like "This is Hida Takayama. The meeting time is at what time. That's all." I had been there several times before, so it was fine for me, but my partner, who only speaks English, found it difficult to understand if they weren't focused when the guide explained in English.
The old town was crowded with foreign tourists, and entering shops took some time, so we just walked around without stopping anywhere. The free time there was about two hours, but as long as we decided on which shops to visit and where to grab a snack, we managed to get around. This time, we had Hida beef buns, visited a chopstick shop (where I had my name engraved on chopsticks), enjoyed mitarashi dango, gohei mochi, and even did a sake tasting at a brewery (though we rushed through it).
We arrived at Shirakawa-go around 4 PM, so it was disappointing that some shops and houses were closed. The sightseeing there was mostly free as well.
We felt good about visiting three cities in one day, but I wished the guide had done a bit more guiding. If I could wish for anything, I would have liked a bit more free time, especially since our stay in Gujo was too short.
So, I gave it a rating of ⭐3.

まず最初に郡上へ着く直前に長々と中国語で説明、そして簡単な英語と日本語でも少し。
自由時間は1時間もなく、自由に歩き回りたい人は自分で歩きそれ以外は早足のガイドに着いていく感じ。
歩いている間たいした説明もなく参加者は写真を撮っては早歩きでガイドに追い付く感じ。
そして人数揃ったらバスは出発飛騨高山へ。ここでも説明は同じく長い中国語での説明と簡単な英語に日本語では「飛騨高山です。集合時間は何時です。以上」みたいにとても簡素でした。
私は何度か行っていたのでそれでも大丈夫でしたが、初めて行ったパートナーは英語しか喋れないのでガイドが英語で説明する時に集中していないとよくわからない感じでした。
古い町並みは外人の観光客で溢れ、お店に入るとちょっと時間がかかってしまうため片道はどこも立ち寄らずに町を見て歩いた感じです。
そこでの自由時間は2時間くらいの自由時間でしたが行く店と買い食いするお店さえ決めておけばなんとかまわれました。
今回は飛騨牛肉まん、お箸屋さん（お箸に名前を入れてもらいました）、みたらし団子、五平餅、そして酒蔵にて飲み比べ（かなり急いで飲みましたが）もできました。
そして白川郷に着いたのが4時くらいだったので閉まっているお店や家があったのが残念でした。
ここでの観光も殆ど自由でした。
私たちは1日で3都市まわれたので良かったと思っていますが、ガイドとしてついて来るならもう少しガイドらしいことしてほしかったです。
欲を言えば自由時間がもう少し欲しかったなあと。
特に郡上での滞在は短すぎました。
ということで⭐3にさせてもらいました

Once we arrived in Takayama and Shirakawa-go, we had free time to enjoy cherry blossom viewing while sampling food, and we had a wonderful time.

Our guide, Bara, provided guidance in English, which was helpful for my husband, whose native language is English. She marked the places we should visit on the map in advance and explained everything before we arrived at the location, which was very helpful. We also had plenty of free time and were able to spend the best time as a family. The driver drove safely, so we felt secure during the ride.

Both the bus driver and the guide were very kind and accommodating. There were just under 40 tour participants, and our family of four was the only Japanese group. Some reviews mentioned that those who might have reservations about joining a tour with foreigners (from Korea and Taiwan) should consider it carefully, but we had no such concerns at all. The passengers were well-mannered, and everyone adhered to the meeting times. The driver was very considerate towards my elderly wife, who has limited mobility, and we are very grateful for that. The guide was a young man who skillfully spoke English, Chinese, and Japanese, and he was very kind. I hadn't done much research before going, so I was a bit anxious, but there were no problems at all. The driver's driving was safe, and I didn't feel any anxiety. We visited three places, which was a bit hard, but each had its own charm, and we were blessed with good weather, making for a fulfilling day. There were many foreign visitors. The car was very quiet and comfortable during the transfers. Still, when we arrived at Nagoya Station, the final greeting from the guide was met with applause and shouts of "thank you" from the passengers, which made me feel very warm inside.

The guide was an excellent person who was fluent in English, Chinese, and Korean. They distributed maps and provided detailed explanations to each individual, which was very kind and greatly appreciated. The other guests were quiet and punctual, and although there was a bit of a traffic jam waiting for parking at the entrance to Shirakawa-go, we were able to get through quickly, which was good.
However, it was disappointing that while the two-hour exploration of Takayama was nice, two hours in Shirakawa-go was not enough, and I couldn't make it to the observation deck. The shuttle bus had a long line, and I tried to walk but ended up taking the wrong path. If the tour can't be extended due to the driver's working hours, I think it would be better to have an hour and a half in Takayama and two and a half hours in Shirakawa-go.
The foreign students I brought along (from Vietnam) were very moved and said they created lifelong memories, so it was worth taking them. Thank you very much.

It was very challenging to rush down a crowded street with a small child in the snow and poor footing.

Other participants arrived significantly late, causing a major delay (about 2 hours). By the time we reached our destination, many shops were closed, ruining the sightseeing experience. The return home was also quite late, which was particularly tough for those with children.

4. コストとサービスのバランスが悪い
他のバスツアーと比較して料金が安かったため予約しましたが、安いとはいえ、ここまでお粗末な運営では満足できません。残念ながら、参加をおすすめできないツアーでした。

It was my first time in Hida Takayama and Shirakawa-go. We had 2 hours of free time in Hida Takayama and 2 hours in Shirakawa-go. The time in Takayama was just right, but 2 hours in Shirakawa-go was not enough. This was because the walking path to the viewpoint I wanted to visit was closed due to snow, so the only option was the shuttle bus, which had a long line of about an hour to board. In the end, it was certain that I wouldn't make it back in time for the bus departure, so I reluctantly gave up (tears). Since the shuttle bus only came every 20 minutes, I think anyone wanting to go to the viewpoint during this season needs at least 3 hours of free time... Other than that, I was very satisfied! The plan was to visit Shirakawa-go, but due to a severe cold wave, the news had been advising against visiting Shirakawa-go and announcing road closures for 2-3 days prior to the tour. I was really looking forward to my first visit to Shirakawa-go!
Due to the heavy snowfall leading up to the end of the year, our tour guide and driver suggested that we visit other attractions before heading to Shirakawa-go to avoid the expected crowds.
There were many tourists, and by the time we left Shirakawa-go, the road on the opposite side was heavily congested. Thanks to the quick thinking of both of them, we were able to enjoy our time in Shirakawa-go to the fullest. Thank you very much!
The snowy scenery of Shirakawa-go was absolutely beautiful, so next time, I would love to see the different landscapes of Shirakawa-go in spring or summer and autumn!
In Hida Takayama, I was able to enjoy delicious food and leave feeling both my heart and stomach were satisfied.
