I was able to enjoy the atmosphere of Taketomi Island. I think the lack of time was my own mistake.
However, I was really frustrated that I couldn't hear the voice of the water buffalo cart guide. I was at the back of a group of about eight people. The manners of the elderly participants in the group were the worst. They were talking on their cell phones and starting casual conversations. I wanted to enjoy a relaxing time, but they kept interrupting the beautiful folk songs...
If the service is so different between the front and back, I wish the price would reflect that. It was frustrating not to hear the guide's voice, and it ruined the experience.

As I paddled the canoe and felt the wind, the fatigue of everyday life seemed to fade away.
The sounds of birds echoing in the mangrove forest and the light reflecting on the water's surface were truly beautiful, providing an incredible soothing effect. I thought half a day might not be enough, but surprisingly, canoeing turned out to be quite challenging, and I was completely satisfied even with just half a day!

I went with my 3-year-old son and my mother (grandmother), and although our time was short, we enjoyed feeding the water buffalo on Yubu Island, seeing many butterflies, and eating ice cream!

I was overwhelmed by the large mangroves! The explanations from our instructor, Seichan, were really interesting. Learning about the plants and creatures that live in the brackish water was incredibly educational. Kayaking through the great outdoors while thinking about how these species have adapted over many years was an invaluable experience. Also, I was excited to hear that the Adan is modeled after a certain famous manga, as I'm a big fan of the original work. If the great treasure is found, it might become a popular spot, so I want to go again before that happens! (laughs)

The rain stopped after we passed the trolley path, and then we saw a rainbow, encountered monkeys and deer, and were amazed by the size of Jomon Sugi! I started walking around 6 AM and returned to the trailhead at 4 PM, walking for a full 10 hours. The guide's stories were enjoyable, and I had a great time with the people I walked with. I forgot to pick up my lunch in the morning, but thanks to the staff's quick thinking, it worked out. In the afternoon, it started pouring rain, and we walked on a path like a waterfall, but thanks to the rental rain gear and shoes, I was able to enjoy the typical Yakushima weather.
朝6時ごろから歩き始めて16時に登山口まで帰ってきてまるまる10時間歩きました。
ガイドさんのお話も楽しいし一緒に歩く人たちとも和気あいあいと楽しい時間を過ごせました。朝お弁当のピックアップを忘れてしまいましたが、スタッフのファインプレーでなんとかなりました。午後から大雨になり滝のような道を歩きましたが、レンタル雨具や靴のお陰で屋久島らしい天候で楽しめました。

Since we weren't sure about the weather, we made a reservation the night before, but on the day of the tour, everything was handled efficiently. The instructor was a lovely person with a sun-kissed tan and a great smile. They were knowledgeable about the mangroves of Iriomote Island, sharing interesting facts like encountering crabs and how the mangrove leaves tasted salty. Although we had limited time for canoeing, it was a fun tour! Thank you very much!!

On the day of the hike, Yakushima had unusually nice weather despite the rain. Seven years ago, my visit to Yakushima was canceled due to bad weather from a typhoon, so this was my chance for revenge. The 4:00 AM pickup was a bit tough, but we encouraged each other among the participants, and thanks to our guide's appropriate pacing, we successfully reached the summit. The sense of achievement was incredible. I would love to challenge myself again if I have the opportunity.

This was my second visit to Shiratani Unsuikyo. I was excited on the ferry to Iriomote Island, and I was thrilled to see the mangroves. Although I didn't see the wildcat, I really felt the abundance of nature. On the return water buffalo cart from Yufu Island, I was captivated by the guide's sanshin and singing, while the water buffalo took a rest... I was able to spend a relaxing time. On a clear night with not a single cloud in the sky, I was able to see the Milky Way among a sky full of stars. I was delighted that our guide, Tenten, suggested many poses and took photos in various locations. They were very friendly and great at creating a lively atmosphere, making the entire photo shoot enjoyable! Not only did we get couple photos, but they also happily took solo shots, which left me very satisfied. It was a wonderful experience that will become a lifelong memory.

I visited in early October. The staff were kind, cheerful, and polite, and the sky was blue and wide, with beautiful seas. The cows were also cute and soothing. If I were to mention a caution, it would be to bring a light jacket, as it can get cold inside the boat!

We visited Yubu Island, then Iriomote Island, and finally Taketomi Island. I had a bit of extra free time on Yubu Island, but after that, I was able to enjoy everything efficiently. I chose a plan on Taketomi Island that only included renting bicycles without the water buffalo. If you want to explore the entire island, renting a bicycle is a better option as it allows for more time. I felt that the water buffalo cart experience on Yubu Island was sufficient for me.

I participated in a snorkeling tour at the Blue Cave in Ishigaki Island. It was much more beautiful than in the photos, and seeing the "blue world" with my own eyes was truly moving. Inside the cave, sunlight streamed in, making the water surface sparkle, creating a fantastical atmosphere.
I felt a bit nervous before entering the water, but the guide explained everything carefully, which made me feel at ease and enjoy the experience. Even if you're not a strong swimmer, you can participate without any issues thanks to the life jackets and flotation devices. The fish came very close, and I was healed by the colorful corals and marine life.
Not only inside the Blue Cave, but the outside sea was also incredibly clear and beautiful. Everywhere you looked was picturesque, making you want to stay in the water forever. The guide took many photos, and all of them turned out beautifully, creating great memories.
It's a wonderful tour where you can fully experience the charm of the sea and nature. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ishigaki Island; you definitely should experience it!

Barasu Island had challenging sea conditions, so we went canoeing in the morning and toured Yufu Island in the afternoon. The attention to detail from our female guide made us feel at ease and able to participate comfortably. Not only were the experience photos and videos great, but the guide also had a good eye for capturing scenic photos. Personally, I was impressed by how she shared knowledge about Iriomote throughout the travel time to the water buffalo riding area. We were able to enjoy the travel time as part of the tour! I'm glad I was with Matsuko's team!
