The weather was nice, and the mystique of Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, Amano Iwato Shrine, and Amano Kawara was very strong. While traveling by bus, the view of Mount Aso was dynamic and beautiful, conveying the mysteries of nature on a global scale. Takachiho Gorge was also breathtaking, and I was overwhelmed by the astonishingly large number of columnar joints I witnessed. The participants were multinational, including people from the U.S., China, Taiwan, Korea, and Singapore, and as a Japanese person, I was in the minority (probably the only one), but everyone was well-mannered, making for a pleasant trip. The guide was Chinese and had no issues with Japanese or English, effectively communicating the features of the tourist spots in Japanese, which helped me understand them well. The bus driver was also a pleasant person. It was a long day from 8:00 to 18:30, but it was truly an interesting day that flew by.
天気が良く、上色見熊野座神社、天安河原、天岩戸神社の神秘性が非常に強く伝わってきました。各所をバスで移動中に見える阿蘇山もダイナミックで美しく、地球規模の自然の神秘も伝わってきました。高千穂峡も圧巻で、驚くほど巨大で多くの柱状節理を目の当たりにし、圧倒された一日でした。参加者は米、中、台、韓、シンガポールなど多国籍で日本人の私は少数派（恐らく1人だけ）でしたが、すべての人がマナー良く心地よい旅でした。ガイドさんは中国人で日本語にも英語にも問題はなく、要所を日本語で伝えてくれましたので観光スポットの特徴をよく理解することができました。バスの運転手も感じの良い方でした。8：00～18：30の長丁場でしたが、あっという間の本当に面白い一日でした。

Thank you for the wonderful guidance in three languages from the tour guide. We applied for the tour without realizing it was for foreigners, and later noticed that the guidance was in Chinese. Before participating, I was nervous about what the tour would be like, but the staff were kind and warm-hearted, which put me at ease. I was able to spend the day feeling like I was traveling abroad while still in Japan, and it was very enjoyable. I would like to participate again.

For just a little over 10,000 yen, lunch is included, and you can visit the main attractions. This is a day trip bus tour departing from Hakata Station. The bus ride takes about two hours each way. However, even with the travel time, the mystical scenery and solemn shrines are worth seeing. There seem to be several locations that are said to be "the place of the Amano Iwato," and Amano Iwato Shrine is one of them. The weather was great! Takachiho Gorge was just as beautiful as the photos in the guidebook. The food was delicious. What I found concerning was the meeting place. There were many similar tours, mostly Chinese tourists speaking Chinese. There were also many flags for "EasyGo," so I couldn't tell which tour was which. I think the destination should be clearly stated.

I have long wanted to visit Takachiho someday. Since it was a difficult place to visit on my own, I decided to use this tour. I was aware from the reviews that there were many foreign travelers, and indeed, most of the customers were foreigners. I participated in a tour for autumn foliage viewing at Takachiho Gorge around late November. It was disappointing that the autumn colors were late in 2024, so I couldn't see much, but I thought it was great to visit beautiful places like Takachiho Gorge and Amano Iwato. Climbing the long stairs to see the stunning view from the top of Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine was also worth it. Thank you for the souvenirs.
About 80-90% of the participants were foreigners. The guide was kind and provided very detailed explanations, even explaining Japanese culture to the overseas guests. When the explanations were given in Chinese, then English, and finally Japanese, I had no particular issues since I am trilingual, but I noticed that the Westerners next to me seemed a bit confused at first. I thought it might be better to explain the order of the languages used from the beginning.
11月中〜末頃に高千穂峡の紅葉狩りでツアーに参加しました。2024年の紅葉が遅かったのであまり見れなくて残念だったのですが、高千穂峡も天安河原も綺麗な場所で参加してよかったと思います。そして上色見熊野座神社の頂点の絶景を見るために長い階段を登る甲斐もありました。お土産までいただいてありがとうございました。

I would like to come again for an overnight stay. I'm looking forward to the Takachiho Kagura and the boat ride. It’s definitely best to aim for the autumn foliage season. Most of the visitors were foreigners, and the guide provided bilingual explanations mixed with Chinese. The time management was very well organized, and even though there were only a few of us, it turned out to be a wonderful day of leisure for the travelers as well. It was truly a lovely trip.

It was a bustling tour with a total of 40 participants, even though it was a weekday. However, the driver, the guide, and all the participants were of Chinese descent. I was the only Japanese person there.
There was no guidance in Japanese at all, but the itinerary and meeting times were communicated directly in Japanese, so there was no problem.

The travel time on the bus was long, so I found the return trip quite tough on my back, haha. I'm glad I was able to visit the long-desired Takachiho! If I could wish for more, I would have liked to ride a boat as well. The food was delicious. I experienced the hospitality of the local Japanese people. It was a participation in the very hot end of July. I hoped to join to take a Vietnamese youth studying in America, but as the reviews said, it was mostly a tour catering to customers from China. The guide was sweating profusely in the extreme heat, doing their best, and I could see efforts to accommodate in English, such as preparing English leaflets. For me, who is learning Chinese, it was enjoyable to have some interactions in Chinese. All the participants were well-mannered, and I personally hope that many inbound visitors will see the wonderful aspects of Japan and share them when they return to their home countries.
By the way, I was happy to find the flowering of the tobacco plant; it was a nice reunion after a long time. The lunch was also fulfilling, and I was satisfied that we could go to Takachiho for a day trip.

The rain forecast was off, and it was cloudy. I was overwhelmed by the great nature of Takachiho Gorge.
