For a group of four people aged 65 and older, we wanted to visit the Nikka Whisky Distillery and also drive around the Shakotan Peninsula. I thought it would be difficult to visit both places in one day on our own, so I chartered a taxi.

I visited Otaru, Yoichi, and Cape Kamui. I wanted to go to the Yoichi Nikka Whisky and the Shakotan Peninsula, and I chose taxi sightseeing for its flexibility. At the Yoichi Nikka Whisky shop and Kakizaki Shoten, I was able to make some great purchases and was very satisfied. Cape Kamui was also sunny, with no strong winds, and the Shakotan Blue was truly breathtaking. The breeze was refreshing and pleasant. We wanted to go to the Shakotan Peninsula for our honeymoon, but since neither of us drives, we decided to book a guide, even though it was a bit pricey.

In the end, it was a great decision!

Ikuta was not only personable but also very knowledgeable! You could really feel his veteran skills!

He guided us to the places we wanted to visit with lots of interesting stories and took many photos for us! It was really helpful since it’s hard to take selfies just the two of us!

He also took us to delicious smoked food places, seafood, and sake shops! We were introduced to places that locals go to!! (The next day, we went to the restaurant recommended by Ikuta for lunch, and it was also exquisite!)

It was a packed day, and we were very satisfied! I’m so grateful that Ikuta will definitely come up in our wonderful memories from this trip.

I would love to book him again for our next trip to Hokkaido!

Normally, I would use a rental car, but I signed up for this tour because I was worried about driving on snowy roads. Fortunately, the weather was nice on the day of the tour, and it seemed like driving wouldn't be an issue, but taking a taxi was definitely more comfortable. Considering the unfamiliar roads and the need to look up stores while driving, the taxi was very convenient as it eliminated the need for prior research and any time loss on the day itself.

This time, we had a 4-hour course. Since we were scheduled to stay at the LOOP hotel in Yoichi, we toured Otaru before heading to the hotel. Both my friend and I had visited Otaru a few times, so we focused on shopping there. When moving from Otaru to Yoichi, we were taken to scenic spots along the coast.

The driver efficiently scheduled our requested and suggested sightseeing spots, allowing us to make the most of our time. He was very friendly, knowledgeable about local information, and our conversations in the car were enjoyable.

普段ならレンタカーを利用するのですが、雪道が心配だったためこのツアーを申し込みました。当日は幸いにも天気に恵まれ運転に支障は無さそうでしたが、やっぱりタクシーは楽。慣れない道やお店を調べながら走ることを考えると、事前の下調べも当日の時間ロスもないタクシーはとても快適で良かったです。

運転手さんは、私たちのリクエスト＋ご提案いただいた観光地等をうまくスケジューリングしてくださり効率的に回れました。とても気さくな方で、地元情報もお詳しく、車内での会話も楽しかったです。
