You can easily spend time alone without any issues. Since it's a bus tour, you can move between various attractions very comfortably. The explanations from the bus guide were also easy to understand.

This was my first time visiting Kushiro. I wanted to go to Lake Mashu, Lake Kussharo, and finally Lake Akan, so I booked a tour that had a perfect itinerary. Although I couldn't see Lake Mashu due to the fog, I had a great time digging on the beach at Lake Kussharo and experiencing hot spring water coming up. The guide at Lake Akan was very detailed and shared various interesting stories, making it enjoyable to listen to. I think it was better than going by car myself since there aren't many transportation options.

We are tourists from China and we discovered that the Pirika bus tickets on the Akan Bus official website were sold out two weeks in advance. Initially, we were dismayed upon learning that there were no other tourist buses available for sightseeing around Lake Akan. Fortunately, we managed to secure two tickets through Veltra.

Our guide was pleasant and provided continuous commentary about the various attractions and surroundings, although our limited Japanese made it challenging to fully understand the explanations. We had fun along the way and were conveniently dropped off in front of our hotel on Lake Akan Onsen Street. One aspect that could potentially be improved is the duration of time allocated to each attraction.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend this trip, as well as Veltra, to anyone interested in exploring the Lake Akan area. It's advisable to book well in advance, given the high demand for these tours.

I had a fulfilling day from boarding at Kushiro Station to getting off at MOO. The view of Lake Mashu, which is often said to be shrouded in mist, was beautiful and wonderful! One regret I have is that I didn't have the courage to try the onsen tamago soft serve ice cream recommended by the guide at Iouzan.

The Kushiro Wetlands, Lake Mashu in the fog, Mount Iou, Lake Kussharo, and Lake Akan were all wonderful! I was able to see Ezo deer and red-crowned cranes from the bus, making for a very satisfying trip.

The guide's explanations were easy to understand, and they provided recommendations for spots to visit and souvenirs in advance, which allowed us to make the most of our limited time.

The time allocation was good, the driver was pleasant, and the guide's explanations were interesting and well-delivered, so I would like to give it ★5 stars. However, there is one disappointing aspect. A Chinese family of five participated in the tour and occupied the seats right in front of us. While that alone wouldn't be a problem, the voices of all family members, young and old, were unnecessarily loud and disruptive, which was unpleasant.

The issue of loud talking and noise from Chinese tourists has been a problem everywhere, and I feel there are no signs of improvement in the future. (At a ryokan I stayed at previously, the noise from Chinese tourists was also excessively loud.) While I enjoyed the bus tour itself, it is unfortunate. I think it may be necessary to consider separating tour participants by nationality in the future.

For those who cannot drive themselves, traveling in eastern Hokkaido can be quite challenging. However, I believe this tour is an excellent option that allows you to efficiently explore the area around the lake from Kushiro. On the day I participated, Lake Mashu was clearly visible, and the surface of the lake reflected the surrounding mountains and sky like a mirror, making it truly beautiful.

Additionally, the guide's stories were really great. They shared a wealth of knowledge about Kushiro's economy, Hokkaido's history, and the plants of the mountains. Just listening to their talk while gazing out the window was truly educational. Thank you very much.

This is a sightseeing bus operated by Akan Bus. It runs every day during the period, so I felt that the bus driver's driving and the guide's explanations were quite experienced. I noticed it was raining inside the bus heading from Lake Akan to Kushiro Airport, but on a nice summer day, we visited Lake Mashu, Iouzan, Lake Kussharo, and Lake Akan. I saw a red-crowned crane by chance from the bus window in the Kushiro Wetlands, enjoyed the clear lake at Lake Mashu without fog, witnessed the natural scenery with less sulfur smoke at Iouzan, and although it was crowded at Lake Kussharo, I was able to enjoy a foot bath during our visit. We had exactly two hours of free time at Lake Akan. Since I have visited Lake Akan about five times, I roughly had the lakeside map in my head and visited Bokke, the monument of Takuboku Ishikawa, the Akan Lake Eco Museum Center, and the Akan Lake Ainu Kotan during the two hours. It was difficult to board the sightseeing boat or visit the Marimo Exhibition and Observation Center due to time constraints, but I was able to see marimo at the museum center. In the latter part, I spent about 40 minutes at the day-use hot spring of New Akan Hotel. The hot spring, open-air bath, and the Sky Garden Spa, where you can wear a swimsuit and enter a spacious hot spring like a pool, were fantastic, allowing me to enjoy the wonderful scenery around Lake Akan from above. The fee was 1,300 yen with my own towel. The marimo yokan after leaving Lake Akan was a delightful souvenir. I was satisfied with the efficient sightseeing in the difficult-to-navigate eastern Hokkaido in just one day.

The Kushiro Wetlands can be seen from the train window. The time for sightseeing at each lake is just right. Lunch break is at the last Lake Akan, which lasts about two hours. The Marimo Ramen, featured in magazines, was delicious. If you want to take a cruise on Lake Akan or spend a bit more time there, you can return to Kushiro on a slightly later bus instead of taking the Pirika. A nice souvenir after the tour is the rare Marimo Yokan, which makes for a great gift.

釧路湿原は車窓。それぞれの湖での下車観光の時間はちょうど良い時間です。お昼休憩は最後の阿寒湖で。２時間ほどあります。雑誌にも掲載されたことのあるまりもラーメン美味しかったです。もし阿寒湖のクルーズに乗りたい場合やもう少し阿寒湖で過ごしたい場合はピリカ号で帰ってくる代わりに少し遅い出発の路線バスで釧路に戻れます。　ツアー終了後の気持ちのプレゼント　マリモ羊羹が珍しくてナイスなお土産です

The guide and driver were very accommodating, and I had a great time.

However, I felt that the duration from 8 AM to around 3 PM was quite long, and it might be better to have a shorter course. In particular, I found the stop at Lake Kussharo to be less appealing. On the other hand, I believe everyone would be interested in the sightseeing boat at Lake Akan, so it would be better to allocate time effectively for that, which would also reduce the guide's explanation workload.

However, I found out online that there are tours available for solo travelers, so I decided to join one. Often, taxi companies assign drivers who are not very familiar with the various tour locations across the country, but the driver from the taxi company for this tour was very knowledgeable about the area. I had a wonderful day and created great memories. Thank you!

Interestingly, although it wasn't part of the tour plan, there were many farms along the way, and we were able to stop and interact with cows and horses, as well as see some wildlife. When traveling alone or with just family, it's easy to miss out on information, so having a taxi driver who knows the area well ensures that you can create many memories in just one trip. We also had the chance to visit the Kushiro Wetlands viewpoint and some little spots around Lake Akan, which weren't originally planned. If you have extra time, you can buy souvenirs or grab a snack. If it takes too long, the taxi driver will call you, but I really think this tour was well organized. Although it won't be immediate, I'm considering using this service again.

It was very convenient to depart from Kushiro Station and tour attractions like Lake Akan, Lake Mashu, and Lake Kussharo by bus. It was much better than going by rental car because we could hear information about the sightseeing spots. At Lake Akan, we got off the bus and had lunch. We went to the local cuisine restaurant Nabekyu and had a delicious smelt rice bowl. Since we were on the bus, we also enjoyed some beer. The Kushiro Regular Sightseeing Bus Pirika was excellent.

This bus tour efficiently takes you to sightseeing spots in Eastern Hokkaido, including the three major lakes: Lake Kussharo, Lake Mashu, and Lake Akan.

We could only see a few Tancho cranes due to the season, but they looked impressive even from a distance. At Lake Kussharo, we could see swans up close! Lake Mashu was mystical. The tour guide mentioned that sometimes the road can be closed, preventing access to the Lake Mashu Observatory, but we were lucky to go this time.

Lunch, which included a bento box at the roadside station, was included in the tour price, making it a great deal. The pork bowl was delicious.

One downside was that we had about an hour of free time at Lake Akan, but it was cold, and the roads were frozen solid, leaving us with little to do. Non-slip shoes are a must.

I had a great time seeing the three major lakes. I was lucky to see Lake Mashu as well, which was endless in its beauty.

I was able to get close to the fumaroles at Mount Io, which was a bonus.

I think I would have enjoyed it more if the windows had been cleaner. I guess it's unavoidable in this season? It's a shame.

I boarded the bus from the Prince Hotel. It seemed like the Prince Hotel was the last stop, so I thought it would be better to go to the bus terminal to get a good seat. I didn't have any particular preferences, so I was satisfied.
