I participated with my mother in her 70s. I was worried about whether it would be okay without much stamina and if we would tip over, but those concerns were completely unnecessary. They provided us with free raincoats and Crocs, so our clothes didn't get wet.

Since it was a windy day, we mainly enjoyed the calm Chitose River. The shimmering green surface of the water and the transparent riverbed seen from the bottom of the kayak were truly beautiful.

With the guidance of a friendly and kind young man, we got to experience a bit of an exploratory feeling, and it was great to briefly venture out to Lake Shikotsu at the end and enjoy the atmosphere of the lake. My mother was also excitedly paddling away and was really happy, saying she had a lot of fun.

There were only two groups participating, so the water was not crowded, allowing us to take off our masks and breathe in the fresh air. Of course, masks and sanitization were in place inside the store before and after kayaking for infection prevention.

I couldn't use the free bathing ticket for Marukoma Onsen due to timing, so I'll save that for my next visit to Lake Shikotsu. I would love to try kayaking and diving again at Lake Shikotsu when there's no wind.

体力なくても大丈夫か、ひっくり返ったりしないか、など心配していたことは全く無用でした。カッパ上下とクロックスを無料で貸し出して頂き、私服が濡れることもありませんでした。
風がある日だったので穏やかな千歳川をメインに楽しみました。グリーンに光る水面や、カヤックの船底から見る透き通った川底は本当に美しかったです。
気さくで優しいお兄さんの案内でちょっぴり探検気分を味わえたり、最後に少しだけ支笏湖にも出て湖の雰囲気も体験出来て良かったです。
母も張り切ってグイグイ漕いで、本当に楽しかったと喜んでいました。
参加時は2組だけで、水上は密ではないためマスクを外して美味しい空気をたくさん吸えました。カヤック前後の店内ではもちろんマスク、消毒で感染対策してありました。
丸駒温泉の無料入浴券が、時間が合わず使えなかったので次に支笏湖に来た時のお楽しみにします。風のない時の支笏湖でまたカヤックやダイビングをしてみたいです。

It was my first experience kayaking, but I received a thorough briefing beforehand, and even after we got out to sea, the guide was very considerate, allowing me to enjoy it with peace of mind. I was surprised to see so many sea urchins and starfish clearly through the clear kayak. Unfortunately, we couldn't enter the Blue Cave, but the guide took photos for us and chatted casually, making it a very satisfying experience. I participated on July 18, 2020. The weather was clear and the waves were calm, making it a perfect day for kayaking. The water was so clear that I could see all the way to the seabed, and I was able to observe many sea urchins and schools of fish clinging to the rocks from underneath the kayak. Furthermore, inside a pitch-black cave that could only be accessed by kayak, I had a truly mysterious experience where only the seawater touched by the paddle glowed a bluish-white. The guide was also very attentive, allowing us to enjoy the experience without any worries, and I was able to receive photos of myself kayaking after the experience.

I participated in the Blue Cave for the first time with a friend from Hokkaido! My friend from Hokkaido had never been to the Blue Cave either, and it seems to be a relatively new attraction.

The canoe we used wasn't a regular canoe; it had a transparent bottom, allowing us to see the many sea urchins below! There were really a lot of them, and I was surprised.

Since the day we went was during high tide, the water level was just high enough to enter the cave. Inside the cave, it was pitch dark, and we cautiously made our way in. The reason it's called the Blue Cave is that when you turn around at the entrance, you can see the beautiful blue surface of the water.

When you tap the water surface, the spot you hit glows a brilliant emerald green, which was absolutely stunning! We also saw many divers in front of the cave. The deeper parts of the cave can be accessed by diving, and I've heard it's very beautiful there as well, so I would like to try diving next time.

It seems that canoeing offers more freedom and allows for various activities, so if you're visiting the cave for the first time, I recommend canoeing as it's relaxing and enjoyable! I'm also curious about visiting the cave when the water level is low, so I would like to participate again.

洞窟の深いところはダイビングで行け、そこもとても綺麗らしいので次はダイビングもしたいなと思いました。
自由度はカヌーの方が高いらしく色々いけるらしいので、洞窟に初めていくのでしたらカヌーはゆっくりできて楽しめますのでおすすめです！
また水位が低い時の洞窟もきになりますので、参加したいと思います。

The weather was perfect, and the sea in Shakotan was truly clear, allowing us to see all the way to the bottom. When viewed from a clear kayak, we could see sea urchins scattered on the seabed, and it felt like we could reach down and grab them. The color of the sea was an indescribable blue (Shakotan Blue), and gliding smoothly over it in the kayak was the best feeling, melting away all the stress of daily life. The clear kayak experience was amazing! I thought I might have to give up because of the strong winds at Lake Shikotsu, but surprisingly, they said, "You can do it!" We spent two hours on the Chitose River. There were various missions, and I might have enjoyed this more than the lake itself! The fun conversations with the guides and taking commemorative photos were great. I did have a little mishap getting out and ended up with one foot soaking wet, but that became a good memory! If you're going kayaking, I recommend Shikotsukamui!

It was raining on and off, but when we tried to go out to Lake Shikotsu, it started to rain quite heavily. We were able to observe river fish closely under the bridge. Although we ended up doing a tour on the river instead of the lake, my daughter seemed to enjoy catching shrimp. I hope we can experience the lake course next time.

This year, I went to Hokkaido with my daughter! When visiting Hokkaido, I decided that it’s not just about seeing beautiful scenery and eating delicious food, but also about trying something experiential! So, I signed up for this horseback riding experience.

I was really looking forward to it, but since it was my first time riding alone, I felt scared and nervous when I got on the horse, as it was higher than I had expected. However, there were several staff members to guide me, and they taught me clearly and patiently, making it easy to understand the points. As I started to get the hang of it, I found it more and more enjoyable, and I was able to ride the course with all the participants. It became an unforgettable memory filled with a sense of accomplishment and emotion! I am grateful to the staff and, above all, to the horses who patiently walked and ran in the heat while carrying a beginner like me who was struggling and flustered.

I definitely want to visit again in a different season!

今年は、娘と北海道に行って来ました！北海道に行くなら、美しい景色を見たり美味しいものを食べてばかりではなくて、何か体験できるものに挑戦してみよう！と決め、こちらの乗馬体験を申し込みました。
とても楽しみにしていたのですが、とにかく初めての1人での乗馬なので、いざ馬の背に乗って見ると思っていた以上の高さに怖くて緊張しましたが、教えてくれる担当の方が複数ついてくれましたし、丁寧でポイントが分かりやすく教えて頂けたので、一つ一つ出来るようになってくると、どんどん楽しくなって来て、参加者みんなと一緒に馬でコースをひと回り出来て、達成感と感動で、忘れられない思い出になりました！これも、担当者の方々や、何より四苦八苦してはアタフタしていた初心者の私を乗せて、暑い中、一生懸命歩いたり走ったりしてくれたお馬さん達のおかげかなと感謝しています。

The morning of midsummer at Lake Shikotsu was sparkling and very beautiful. I was lucky to see the Chitose plum blossom algae as well. You do get a bit wet from the water, but I highly recommend it.

I did some research hoping to see the red-crowned cranes while canoeing in the Kushiro Wetlands, and I ended up on this website. It takes less than an hour to get there by rental car from Kushiro Airport. While many other plans start at 1 PM, this one allows you to start at 12 PM, so we could head to our accommodation in the evening without rushing.

It was a chilly day with many clouds, but they provided ponchos to keep us warm, and the canoes were spacious and stable with backrests, making it very comfortable for my 72-year-old mother. Since it was the first day of our 3-night, 4-day trip, I was a bit worried about my shoes getting wet and considered bringing a spare pair, but the canoes were clean despite the rain the day before, so that worry was unnecessary!

Since we had a private canoe rather than sharing with others, it was perfect and we didn’t have to worry about being considerate. They also encouraged us not to paddle too much and to take photos, allowing us to relax and enjoy the experience. Our guide, Mr. Ichinose, was a calm and experienced professional with over 20 years in the field and was very knowledgeable about the wildlife. He pointed out the white-tailed eagle calling nearby and helped us spot animals even from a distance. We were able to see many animals, including black kites, a mother and baby deer, and even the red-crowned cranes, which I thought we wouldn't see.

The Norokko train stops at a nearby station just after 2 PM, so we were able to catch it and return to the meeting point on time. At just 230 yen, it was a great experience.

The next day, we enjoyed the blooming lavender in Furano, the beautiful flower carpets in Biei, the stunning blue pond on a clear day, and Otaru after more than 20 years. Although we had a satisfying daily itinerary, my mother said the canoeing in the Kushiro Wetlands was the most enjoyable part.

If anyone is looking to experience canoeing, I confidently recommend this option.

釧路湿原でカヌーをしながら丹頂鶴が見れたら最高だなーと色々調べてこちらのHPに辿り着きました。
釧路空港からレンタカーで1時間かからず行けます。他の所のプランでは13時スタートが多い中、こちらは12時からスタートできるので夕方には泊まる宿に焦ることなく行けました。

雲の多い肌寒い日だったけど、寒さをしのげるようにポンチョを用意してくれたり、背もたれ付きのカヌーで広々として安定しているので72歳の母でも全然楽に過ごせました。
3泊4日の旅の初日だったので靴が濡れてしまうのではないか？予備を持っていこうかと少し心配していましたが、前日の雨にもかかわらずキレイなカヌーなのでその心配はご無用でした！

他の方と一緒に乗るのではなく貸し切りになるので気を使うこともなく最高です。
またあまり漕がなくても大丈夫ですよ、写真とか撮ってくださいと言ってくださり、ゆったりした気分で過ごせます。
担当してくださった一戸さんは20年以上のベテランの落ち着いた方で本当に動物にも詳しい方です。
オジロワシが鳴いてるから近くにいるよ！と発見してくださったり遠くにいても発見して教えてくれます。
その他にトンビ、親子の鹿、見れないだろうなーと諦めていた丹頂鶴など沢山の動物に会うことができました。
カヌーを降りた場所から近い駅に14時ちょっと過ぎにノロッコ号がとまるのでちょうど時間が合い乗ることが出来て集合場所に戻ることも出来ました。230円と安いしこれも良い体験になりました。

その次の日からは富良野の満開ラベンダー、美瑛の見事なお花のじゅうたん、晴れた日の見事
な真っ青になった青い池、20年以上振りの小樽など満足な毎日を過ごせたけど母いわく釧路湿原のカヌーが1番楽しかったとしみじみと言ってました。

カヌー体験したい方がいたら、私はこちらを選ぶことを自信をもってオススメします。

We also kayak along the River Chitose that was quiet and calm, allowing us to be close to nature. The highlight was when we spotted 4 huge blue carps in the river swimming under our kayaks. Most importantly, the tour was perfect because of our guide, Risa. Risa was friendly, relaxed, and was adept at striking good, pleasant conversations. Overall, I highly recommend anyone who is dropping by this lake to take this tour.

Jim-san, our tour guide was very friendly. We are a mixed group of Japanese and English speaking cyclists and that probably made it difficult for him to shift between languages.
The trail that we covered was more of gravel biking trails, nothing mtb-technical-type with light climbs. (I was left wanting more shredding.)
Unfortunately, the tour had to be cut short coz we were (first) warned and eventually advised by others (in the forest) of a brown bear sighting. So we ended up cycling in the nearby paved suburb roads to complete our coverage. Jim was humbly apologetic that the forest route wasn't followed.
Suggestion: set alternative routes in case of bear sightings.

As expected, the tour kept track of time.

My first trip to Eastern Hokkaido with my mother. To fulfill our wish of "wanting to ride a canoe in the Kushiro Wetlands," we deliberately planned an individual trip instead of a group tour with a travel agency.

The conditions for the canoe tour were twofold: "to be able to ride the canoe for as long as possible on a basic tour course" and "to have pick-up available near Kushiro Station since we wouldn't be driving." Based on these conditions, we applied to Healing Canoe Kushiro.

On the day of the tour, it was an unusually hot day for Hokkaido, but it was sunny with light winds, which I think were good conditions for canoeing. The refreshing sound of the water, the breeze crossing the surface, and the various bird calls from afar and nearby were all very pleasant.

I felt so relaxed and healed that I wanted to just drift along... Our guide, Mr. Ichinose, a local from Kushiro, was very attentive and fun, allowing us to feel safe and comfortable. I definitely want to visit again during this beautiful fresh green season and experience the different expressions of other seasons.

「釧路湿原でカヌーに乗りたい！」という希望を叶えるため、旅行会社の団体旅行ではなく敢えて個人旅行を計画しました。
カヌーツアーの条件は「ベーシックなツアーコースで出来るだけ長時間カヌーに乗っていられること」と「車を運転しないので釧路駅近辺の送迎が可能なこと」の2点。
この条件にかなって今回ヒーリングカヌー釧路さんに申し込みました。
当日は北海道にはあり得ないほどの暑い日でしたが晴れて風も弱く、カヌーには良い条件だったと思います。涼やかな水の音、水面を渡ってくる風、遠くから近くから聞こえる様々な鳥の声など、とても心地良かったです。
このまま漂っていたい…と思うくらいリラックスして癒されました。
釧路っ子のガイド、一戸さんのアテンドはとても丁寧で楽しく、安心してお任せすることができました。
ぜひまた新緑の美しいこの時期、そして表情を変えた他の季節も訪れたいと思います。
