I wanted my first-grade son to experience canoeing, so I made a reservation. They picked us up from our accommodation and provided life jackets. They also taught us how to paddle in a very thorough manner. Both my child and I were new to canoeing, but we were able to enjoy it with peace of mind. The weather was great, and the views were wonderful. Since there were few participants when we joined, we were lucky to have a family photo taken along the way. It became a memorable canoeing experience. The river's flow was gentle (though there were some parts that were a bit faster), so I recommend it for those considering an experience with children!

My first trip to Shiretoko! I joined the tour filled with anticipation of encountering nature and wildlife. On the day of the tour, it was rainy, but our guide, Ayano, was fantastic. With a kind and humorous storytelling style, she provided detailed explanations about nature and animals. Thanks to her, I was able to deeply feel the breath of nature, which I wouldn't have noticed without the tour, making it a truly memorable trip. There were also foreign visitors on the same tour, and it was clear they were enjoying the experience with the English explanations. I hope to visit again someday. Thank you for everything!

初めての知床旅行！大自然と動物に逢えることへの期待感一杯でツアーに参加しました。
当日は雨跡が残る中でのツアーとなりましたが、ガイドの綾野さんが最高で、ユーモアを交えた優しい語り口で、自然のこと、動物のことなどを詳しく説明していただきました。
お陰様で、ツアーでなければ気づかなかった自然の息遣いを大いに感じることができ、大変思い出に残る旅行となりました。
同じツアーで外国人の方もおられましたが、英語での説明を受け、楽しんでいる様子が伺えました。また、いつか再訪したいと思っています。お世話になりました！

It was a perfect day in Shiretoko with no clouds and the highest temperature, creating the best memories. I found the guide's stories very interesting. I was thrilled to spot a deer along the way. There were many things I understood better by actually walking through the forest.

雲一つない、最高気温の知床で、最高の思い出になりました。
ガイドさんのお話も、大変興味深く聞かせていただきました。途中、鹿を見つけて感激です。森の中を実際に歩いてみてわかることもいっぱいありました。

I went at the end of August. Just as we were about to depart, we were informed that a bear had been spotted a few minutes earlier, so we couldn't go to the Five Lakes. The tour guide suggested either an alternative course, waiting until the bear left, or canceling. Since we had to return to Tokyo from Memanbetsu Airport that day, we chose the alternative course. Although we couldn't see the lakes, we explored the forest, saw trees scratched by bears, and reached the cliffs of the Okhotsk Sea, which was quite impressive. I recommend it if you're not fixated on seeing the lakes!

8月の終わりに行きました。さて出発というときに数十分前に熊が出没したとのことで5湖に行けなくなりました。そこでツアーガイドさんは代替コースか、熊がいなくなるまで待機するかキャンセルも有りと提案。我々は当日女満別空港から帰京しなければならなかったので代替コースを選択。5湖は見れなかったものの森を探検、熊の引っ掻いた木とか、オホーツク海の岸壁に出るなど、見応えがありました。湖にこだわらなければおすすめします!

The guide was polite and answered any questions naturally. They adjusted the pace to match the children's needs. We were able to encounter foxes, chipmunks, and Ezo squirrels on the animal trail. Thank you for the wonderful time!

ガイドさんは丁寧で自然体でどんな質問にも答えていただきました。子どものペースに合わせて進めていただきました。獣道ではキツネやシマリス、エゾリスなどに出会うことができました。最高の時間をありがとうございました！

At the end of August, it was a time when we could explore without a guide, but I signed up for a small loop course because I wanted to hear various explanations. Our guide, Ayano, was very experienced and provided explanations in a calm tone. I learned a lot about animal tracks and rare plants that I wouldn't have noticed just by walking on my own. It was reassuring when we spotted a brown bear, and I felt that participating in the guided tour was definitely worth it.

There were a total of 8 people in 3 groups, and the content was enjoyable for everyone from elementary school students to adults. Since we walked through the forest, comfortable shoes and suitable trekking clothing are essential. Binoculars were provided for free, so it was fine not to bring my own.

8月末なのでガイドさんなしでも散策可能な時期でしたが、いろいろと説明を聞きたく小ループコースを申し込みました。
ガイドの綾野さんは大ベテラン、落ち着いた口調でさまざまな説明をしてくださいます。自分で歩いているだけでは気づかない動物の痕跡や珍しい植物などがよく分かりました。ヒグマを見かけた時にも安心ですし、ガイドツアーに参加する価値は大いにあると感じました。
3グループ総勢8人のツアーでしたが、小学生から大人もまで楽しめる内容でした。森の中を歩くので、歩きやすい靴とトレッキングに適した服装は必須です。双眼鏡は無償で貸していただけたので、持っていかなくても大丈夫でした。

I was invited by a friend and participated with two girls. I'm usually an indoor person who doesn't want to go out and I'm not good at sports, but it was way more fun than I imagined, and I was super excited! The guy in charge (even though he said he wasn't dedicated) was amazing! From the start, he was really energetic, and we had a great time laughing and helping each other with the other four girls in the same boat. We had so much fun the whole time.

It was nice to see the instructors greeting each other regardless of the company. We played a game called "wheelie" (is that the right name?) where we stood the boat vertically, raised our paddles together while cheering, played games standing on the boat, and jumped into the river. It was just so much fun.

Also, the water was cool and felt great. The cliff at the end of the course was breathtaking. The instructor said, "This view is moving no matter how many times you see it." Even though it was a lively tour, when we were looking at that view, we all admired the stunning scenery together, and that was really nice.

After Golden Week, the water flow increases, and it seems like it gets a bit more intense, so I definitely want to go again during that time! Thank you to all the girls who participated with me, my friends, and the staff! ♡

友達に誘われて女子2人で参加。普段は基本外に出たくないインドア派＆スポーツ苦手ですが、想像以上に楽しくてテンションあがりまくりでした！
(専属じゃないって言ってましたが）担当のお兄さんが素晴らしすぎた！最初からテンション上げまくりで、一緒のボートになった他の女子4人とわきあいあいと爆笑したり、助け合ったり笑、ずーっと楽しく進みました。
インストラクターの人が会社関係なく挨拶し合ってる感じもなんかよかった～。ウィーリーっていう（名前あってる？）ボートを垂直に立てる遊びをしたり、みんなでパドルを掲げて掛け声かけたり、ボートの上に立つ遊びをしたり、川に飛び込んだり。とにかく楽しかった。
あと水がひんやりして気持ち良かった。コースの最後にある崖？みたいなとこは絶景でした。インストラクターさんも「この景色は何度みても感動する」って言ってた。ワイワイのツアーだったけど、この景色見てるときはみんなで圧巻の景色を眺めて、それもなんだかよかったなー。
GW明けは水流がまして、激しさがちょっと増すらしく、絶対その時期にまた行きたい～～！

There was a sighting of a brown bear, and the walking trail was closed. The Shiretoko Five Lakes walking tour was canceled. We received a notification the night before and were able to participate in an alternative plan for a primeval forest trekking tour.

We walked through the primeval forest, which we wouldn't have had the courage to enter on our own, with a guide. We saw claw marks from the brown bear, deer, woodpecker holes, and some rare mushrooms, which was a lot of fun. The guide's voice was very calm and easy to listen to. However, the way he spoke was amusing, and I couldn't help but chuckle at some of his stories, which made it very enjoyable.

While I felt a mix of relief and disappointment at not seeing a brown bear, I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the nature of Shiretoko. Since this is feedback on the alternative tour, I hesitated to write it here, but I wanted to express my gratitude, so I decided to share it. Thank you very much.

ヒグマの目撃情報があり遊歩道が閉鎖。知床五湖ウォーキングツアーはキャンセルとなりました。前夜にご連絡をいただき、
急遽代替案の原生林トレッキングへ参加させていただきました。
自分たちでは入る勇気がでない原生林をガイドさんと一緒に歩きヒグマの爪痕をみたり、鹿を見たり、キツツキの穴の跡、珍しいきのこを見たりとても楽しめました。ガイドさんの声がとても落ち着いていて聞きやすいです。でも話す単語がおもしろくておもわずくすっとわらってしまう様なお話の仕方でとっても楽しめました。ヒグマを見ることはできず、ほっとした様な残念な様な気持ちですが、知床の自然を存分に味わえてとっても楽しかったです。
代替案のツアーの感想なので、こちらに記載して良いのか迷いましたが、感謝の気持ちをお伝えしたく記載させていただきます。ありがとうございました。

I went on a tour of the Shiretoko Five Lakes, but due to bear sightings, we switched to a primeval forest tour. This turned out to be the best experience! We pushed through grass that was up to our waists and entered the forest, and when we emerged into a wide-open field, the view was breathtaking! Cliffs, the sea, and blue skies with clouds. We visited three different cliffs.

Even the plants and landscapes that you usually pass by became really interesting after hearing detailed explanations from the professional guide. We encountered various animals, including foxes, deer, and even bears. There happened to be a bear nearby eating, which is usually scary, but with the professional guide there, I felt safe observing it.

The next day, I took a sightseeing boat, but since it was the same scenery I had seen up close, I honestly found it a bit lacking. If you go to Shiretoko, I highly recommend going on a tour with a professional guide.

知床五湖のツアーだったんですが、熊出没で原生林ツアーに変更へ。これが最高の体験でした！
腰まである草をかき分け森へ入り、景色が開けた野原に出たら、もうそこは絶景！絶壁と海と青空に雲。そんな絶壁を3箇所も回りました。
普段は通り過ぎてしまう植物や風景も、プロの詳しい説明をきいたら本当に面白い。いろんな動物にも出会えます。キツネ、鹿、そして熊にも。たまたま餌を食べている熊が近くにいて、普通は怖いですが、プロのガイドさんがいてくれたので安心して観察することができました。
次の日遊覧船に乗ったんですが、近くで見ていた景色だったので、正直物足りなかったくらい。
知床にいったら、プロのガイドさんとツアーが1番のおすすめです。

Thank you for arranging the trekking despite the challenging conditions, including the temporary closure of the Shiretoko Five Lakes due to bear encounters. The insights and guidance provided to deepen our understanding of Shiretoko's nature were wonderful, and it became clear why Shiretoko is a UNESCO World Heritage site. On the other hand, witnessing a bear running towards humans offered a valuable opportunity to reflect on the difficulties of maintaining and creating ecosystems, as well as the challenges of coexistence with humans. I will come again. Thank you very much.

クマとの接近遭遇に伴う知床五湖立入一時停止等の難しいコンディションの中、トレッキングアレンジいただき感謝しています。
知床の自然に対する理解を深めてもらえるようなたくさんの洞察やガイドは素晴らしく、知床が世界自然遺産であることがよくわかりました。

Even in the heat, the shade of the trees was cool, and the walking path was easy to navigate, making the three hours fly by. I had mixed feelings about wanting to see a grizzly bear or not, but thanks to Ayano, it was a safe and enjoyable tour. I was able to hear various stories not only about animals but also about plants, insects, and mushrooms, and I think I would have missed out on a lot if I hadn't participated. Thank you very much!

暑い中でも木陰は涼しく、遊歩道で歩きやすく、あっという間の３時間弱でした。
ヒグマには会いたいような、会いたくないような、という気持ちでしたが、綾野さんのおかげで安全に楽しいツアーでした。
動物のことだけでなく、植物、虫、キノコなど色んなお話しを聞くことができ、参加しなければ多くのことを見逃していたと思います。

I went kayaking with my beloved girlfriend on the most beautiful river and lake. It was really interesting to see the water turn a soda-like color. Next time I come, I want to visit the lake too! I was happy to have taken a lot of photos.

大好きな彼女と最高に綺麗な川と湖の上でカヤックをこぎました。水がラムネ色になるところはとても面白かったです。今度来た時は湖にも行ってみたいです！たくさん写真撮ってもらえて嬉しかったです。

My spouse and I participated together. Since there had been no rain for several days, the paths and boardwalks in the forest were dry, but caution is needed on the dirt paths where stones are exposed. There are also some ups and downs. The weather was clear, and we could see the entire Shiretoko mountain range beautifully. Our guide was kind and thorough, explaining the vegetation, bears, deer, birds, frogs, the history of the Shiretoko Five Lakes, and how the Shiretoko mountain range became a UNESCO World Heritage site. I also heard that a bear had been spotted the day before, but it was reassuring to have a guide who is experienced and knowledgeable about how to deal with bears. I was worried about the parking lot being crowded during the Obon holiday, but there were no issues. I was able to learn a lot about the nature of Shiretoko, its history of development, and the reasons for its World Heritage designation, which created wonderful memories. I was also grateful that we could take photos at the shooting points. I would like to visit Shiretoko again.

家内と2人で参加しました。数日前から降雨が無かったため森の中の道や木道は乾燥していましたが、土の歩道は石が露出しているため注意が必要です。アップダウンもあります。晴天で知床連山全体が良く見えました。ガイドさんは親切丁寧な方で植生や熊・鹿・鳥・蛙の説明や知床五湖が生まれた経緯、知床連山の説明、世界遺産になった経緯など多くの事をお話し下さいました。また前日は熊が出たそうですが経験豊富で熊との付き合い方を熟知しているガイドさん付きなので安心でした。お盆の最中で駐車場の混雑が心配でしたが問題ありませんでした。ガイドさんから知床の自然や開拓の歴史、世界遺産指定の経緯など色々なお話を伺う事ができて良い想い出ができました。撮影ポイントで写真を撮って頂けたのも有り難かったです。
また知床を訪れたいと思います。

I chose the full course, and I was able to practice on the wider section with some wind in the first half, then enjoyed the jungle-like course in the second half. It seems that you can't access the jungle on the half course, so I recommend the full course.
I also saw a lot of bluebirds (kingfishers).
I think it would be good to have insect repellent spray for the jungle part!
The guides were cheerful and entertaining as well.

フルのコースにしましたが、前半風がある広めのコースで練習出来て、後半ジャングルのようなコースで楽しめました。ハーフだとジャングルいけないらしいので、フルのコースがおすすめです。
青い鳥（カワセミ）もたくさん見れました。
ジャングル部分は虫除けスプレーあるといいと思いました！
ガイドさんたちも陽気で面白かったです。

I took a bus from Chitose Station to Lake Shikotsu and participated in this tour. I had originally booked the 1:30 PM tour, but since I arrived early, I was able to switch to the 11 AM tour that had availability. The main part of Lake Shikotsu had some waves, so we were guided to the river instead. The water was incredibly clear and felt great. I also appreciated the photo-taking service. After the tour ended, I had a meal and went for a walk, and I could see that the 1:30 PM tour was heading to the lake. I'm not sure which was more fun, but I enjoyed the river, so it was all good!

千歳駅からバスで支笏湖へ行き、本ツアーに参加しました。
13:30のツアーを予約していましたが、早く着いてしまったので空きのあった11時からのツアーに変更してもらいました。
支笏湖本体のほうは波がうねっていたため、川のほうへ案内してもらいました。とにかく水がキレイで、気持ちよかったです。写真撮影のサービスもありがたかったですね。
ツアー終了後、食事をしてから散策をしていたら、13時半からのツアーは湖のほうへ行っていたのが見えました。どっちが楽しかったのかはわかりませんが、川は川で楽しめたのでまあ良しです！

It was cloudy on the day of the tour, but I felt it was better than walking in the heat. The guide lent us insect repellent spray, but I think it's necessary to take measures against bugs. A short-sleeved shirt was fine, but I recommend long pants, socks, and sneakers. There were some people in the same tour wearing shorts and sports sandals, but they struggled with mosquitoes.

Unfortunately, we didn't encounter any wildlife, but we could see traces of them here and there. The guide was very kind and provided various explanations. They also took casual photos at the photo spots. The three hours flew by with the beautiful scenery and the guide's entertaining stories. It was a wonderful experience that allowed us to connect with the nature of Shiretoko, and it became a great memory.

当日は曇りでしたが、暑い中で歩くよりも良かった気がしました。ガイドさんが虫よけスプレーを貸してくださいますが、防虫対策は必要だと思います。上衣は半袖でも大丈夫でしたが、下衣は長ズボンで靴下、スニーカーがおすすめです。同じツアーの中で短パン&スポーツサンダルの方がいましたが蚊に苦労されてました。
残念ながら野生動物には会えませんでしたが、その痕跡はあちらこちらで見る事ができました。ガイドさんもとても親切で色々な説明をしてくださいます。写真スポットで気軽に写真も撮ってくれます。素敵な景色とガイドさんの楽しいお話であっという間の3時間でした。知床の自然に触れ合えた感が満喫できてとても良い思い出になりました。

On the day of the tour, just before departure, there was a sighting of a brown bear, and access to the ground walkway was prohibited, leading to the cancellation of the Grand Loop Tour. In a hurry, we switched to a trekking tour in the mountains of Shiretoko, guided by Ayano. I was nervous about the possibility of encountering a bear, but I was able to see bear claw marks and remnants of their meals, which are usually not visible, and I learned a lot. We also got to see a fox up close, and although it was just under two hours, it was incredibly enjoyable. Ayano's explanations were very clear, and it became a wonderful memory.

当日は出発直前にヒグマの目撃があり、地上遊歩道の立ち入りが禁止になってしまい、大ループツアーは中止になりました。急遽、ガイドの綾野さんの案内で高架木道を回った後、知床の山の中トレッキングツアーへ変更。クマが出てこないかドキドキでしたが、熊の爪痕や食事の後など普段は見れないものを見て、たくさん学ぶことが出来ました。間近でキツネを見ることもでき、２時間弱でしたがすごく楽しかったです。綾野さんの説明はすごく解りやすく、素敵な思い出になりました。

We participated as a family of three. In summer, children from the age of four can join. We were equipped with proper safety gear, and while there was some playful behavior, it wasn't cold during the summer. Other tours also go down the river together, but here we received photos and videos, and considering the price, it's a great value. Additionally, the meeting point is close to the location, so if you're traveling by rental car, you can easily have lunch in Kutchan right after the tour. My wife, who was initially hesitant, was thrilled and said she was glad she participated.

家族3人で参加。夏は4歳から参加可能とのことです。しっかりと安全装備付け、多少のおふざけはありますが、夏場なら寒いことはありません。他のツアーも一緒に川下りしますが、こちらは写真や動画も頂けて、この値段なので、コスパも良いです。また、集合場所も現地に近いので、レンタカーなどで移動するなら、終わった後にすぐに倶知安でランチが出来ます。最初は引き気味の還暦妻もやって良かったと大喜びでした。

The waves were high when we went out to sea, and I got seasick... It’s a good idea to take medicine beforehand; I managed to hold on somehow, haha.

The Blue Cave was mystical and beautiful. It was a sight that’s hard to see, and I’m glad I got to experience it.

I got my shoes and clothes a bit dirty from someone on the same tour, and my hat was thrown away... I was really disappointed. Since we were both traveling with family, I didn’t say anything to avoid creating a bad atmosphere, but even though it was a natural occurrence, I wished they had been a bit more considerate as a person.

Because of this, it turned out to be a rather awkward tour.

やはり海に出ると波が高く、酔いました…。
事前に薬を飲んでいくと良いですね、私はなんとか持ちこたえました　笑

青の洞窟は神秘的で良かったです。なかなかみられない光景で、見れて良かったと思います。

同じツアーの方に靴と服を少しですが汚され、帽子は、捨ててもらいました…、げんなりです。
旅行中で、お互い家族連れでもあり、空気が悪くなると嫌なのでこちらからは何もいいませんでしたが、自然現象とは言え、人としてもう少し気遣いをして欲しかったです。

こんなこともあり、微妙なツアーとなりました。

The guide was very knowledgeable and explained the flora and fauna in detail, making it great to learn about the nature of Shiretoko that you wouldn't notice just by walking.

I was able to enjoy the Shiretoko Five Lakes and the primeval forest at an affordable price, just like at Tartle. The guide's explanations were easy to understand, and they were very kind! I was also satisfied to encounter deer and chipmunks during the tour, and we even saw a brown bear while traveling in the car!

I participated alone, but I walked with a group of about 10 people. The guide made the walk enjoyable by providing explanations and incorporating quizzes while observing nature. Although we hardly saw any animals at Shiretoko Goko, we were able to observe Ezo deer and chipmunks on the afternoon course through the primeval forest. We also spotted a brown bear while traveling by car. It seems that the course will be closed for a while, so it was great to see it from the car.

私は1人参加でしたが、全体で10人ほどのグループで歩きました。ガイドさんが、解説や所々クイズを交えて自然観察をしながら楽しく歩けました。また、知床五湖では動物はほとんど見かけませんでしたが、午後の原生林のコースではエゾシカやシマリスを観察できました。また、車で移動中にヒグマも見ることが出来ました。コースに出てくるとコースがしばらく閉鎖になるそうなので、車から見られて良かったです。

The weather was perfect from the morning. The morning tour of the Five Lakes was an experience of about three hours, starting from Lake 5 to Lake 1. The mist that was covering Mount Rausu cleared up along the way, revealing stunning views. We took commemorative photos at all the lakes, making for a refreshing half-day. For lunch, we enjoyed the Araiso-don and sashimi set at Kumano-ya, a restaurant in Utoro recommended by our guide.

In the afternoon, we parked at a distant parking lot and moved to the entrance of the trekking trail. Initially, we walked through an area where pioneers used to live, exploring newly planted areas, and then we entered the primeval forest. Most of the trees were Sakhalin fir and oak, and we learned about the characteristics of the trees and woodpeckers. Along the way, we encountered Ezo squirrels and a family of deer, experiencing a trekking adventure that one could never enjoy alone. While the morning tour of the Five Lakes was great, I felt that everyone should definitely experience the afternoon trekking.

朝から最高の天候。午前の五湖巡りは、5湖から1湖まで約3時間の体験。最初は羅臼山にかかっていた霧も、途中からは晴れて最高の景色。全ての湖で記念撮影もして頂いて清々しい半日でした。お昼は、ガイドさんに教えてもらったウトロの荒磯料理くまのやさんで荒磯丼と刺身定食を堪能。午後からのトレッキングは離れた駐車場に車を止めて、トレッキングの入り口まで移動。最初は開拓の方々が暮らしていて、新しく植樹された場所を散策、その後、原生林に入って行きました。とど松、ナラの木がほとんどですが、木の特徴やキツツキのお話、途中でえぞリスや鹿の親子にも出会い、決して個人では味わえないトレッキングを体験させて頂きました。午前の五湖巡りも良かったですが、午後のトレッキングは是非皆さんにも体験して頂きたいと感じました。

Since it's a covered cruiser, you can avoid UV rays. The captain entertains everyone with a fast-paced explanation mixed with jokes. However, the boat sways from side to side, and it feels like it's flying through the air—it's truly an attraction. It's great for those who want to experience thrills, but those who prefer a safe ride should reconsider. The wait time to enter the Blue Cave was long due to the busy season, but it was beautifully visible.

早口でジョーダン交えた船長の説明で皆を楽しませる。が一転、船を左右に揺さぶられたり、船が空中を走ったりとまさにアトラクションである。スリルを味わいたい人はよいが、安全運転を望む人はやめた方が良い。
青の洞窟へ入るための待ち時間は繁忙期だったので長かったが、キレイに見えた。

I had a dark feeling that I might have to give up on Shiretoko Five Lakes due to the bear sighting information early in the morning, but after switching my morning and afternoon plans, I was able to visit Shiretoko Five Lakes in the afternoon without any issues. Thanks to the guide's accurate information and judgment, we didn't waste any time and had a meaningful day of sightseeing. The veteran guide's explanations were excellent, and I really enjoyed myself. Hearing about the highlights of different seasons made me excited to visit again. Thank you very much!!

朝一のクマ出没情報に、これは知床五湖は諦めかと暗い予感が頭を過ぎりましたが、午前午後の予定を入れ替えたところ、無事午後は知床五湖を廻ることができました。ガイドさんの的確な情報網とご判断で、時間を無駄にすることもなく、１日有意義に見学できました。ベテランのガイドさんの説明も良く、大変楽しむことが出来ました。別の季節の見どころ説明に、是非また訪れたいと、新たなワクワク感をもらいました。本当にどうもありがとうございました!!

I had a kayaking experience with my dog. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and I had a great time! It was a happy experience that makes me want to go again next time!

It had been raining until just before, but thanks to the location suggested by the tributary, we had an enjoyable half day. We didn't expect to catch so many fish right after the rain stopped, and we thoroughly enjoyed serious stream fishing. We are grateful to everyone at the Kuro-matsunai Tourism Association.

Since it was my first time in Shiretoko, I wanted to learn about the land, nature, and various things, so I participated in this walking tour.

In conclusion, I’m really glad I did!

Not only did we learn about the Shiretoko Five Lakes, but the guide was also incredibly knowledgeable about the rare insects, birds, plant ecology, various types of trees, and colorful mushrooms we encountered along the way—truly like a reliable professor.

Shiretoko's weather can change quickly; even if it's sunny, it can suddenly rain lightly. I could feel the changes in the clouds, the view of the mountains, the wind, the light, and the scent of the earth, all contributing to the luxurious experience of the three hours. The summer drizzle feels nice when you embrace it without a raincoat. The rain stopped quickly, though.

Next time, I’d love to bring my curious elementary school son and ask this guide for help again.

初めての知床だったので、土地のこと、自然のこと、様々なことも知りたいと思い、こちらのウォーキングツアーに参加しました。

結論、本当にお願いして良かったです！

知床五湖についてはもちろんのこと、歩きながら出会う珍しい虫や、鳥などの動物、植物の生態、たくさんの木の種類、色とりどりのキノコにまで詳しくて、本当にガイドさんは頼りになる博士のようでした。

知床は天気が変わりやすく、晴れていても急に小雨になったりと、そんな雲の動き、山の見え方、風、光、土の匂いも変わる森や湖の様子も感じられて、贅沢な３時間でした。夏の小雨はレインコートなしで浴びるのが気持ち良いですよ。雨はすぐに上がりましたが。

次回は、好奇心の塊の小学生の息子も連れて、こちらのガイドさんにぜひお願いしたいです。

I had always wanted to visit the Shiretoko Five Lakes. It's a mysterious area where entry is prohibited unless accompanied by a guide. The weather was clear and sunny. Our guide was the experienced Ayano-san. Another group of guests was late, so it turned into a private tour for just my family.

Thanks to Ayano-san's incredible knowledge of the forest, the kids were able to genuinely enjoy the tour and were very satisfied. Ayano-san stopped almost every 20 meters to provide explanations.

We saw bear droppings, claw marks, and paths made by bears for the first time. Additionally, we learned about wild birds and plants in a really easy-to-understand and thorough manner.

Indeed, the natural beauty that you can only experience on the Five Lakes tour is something you absolutely cannot see just by walking along the boardwalk. If you come to Shiretoko, this is a tour you must join; otherwise, you will miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

　すっと行ってみたかった知床五湖。ガイドさんと一緒じゃないと立ち入り禁止の神秘の区域。天気は快晴。ガイドはベテランの綾野さん。もう一組のお客さんが遅刻して、うちの一家だけの貸切ツアーとなりました。
　綾野さんのとてつもない森の知識で、子供達も心からツアーを楽しめて大満足でした。綾野さんはほぼ２０メートルおきに立ち止まって説明をしてくださいました。
　初めて見るヒグマの糞、ヒグマの爪痕、ヒグマの作った獣道。また、野鳥や植物についても、本当に分かりやすく丁寧に教えて貰いました。
　やっぱり、木道の遊歩道だけでは、絶対に見られない大自然が五湖ツアーにはあります。知床に来たら、参加しないと絶対に一生の損をするツアーです。
