I was worried because I'm not very skilled, but I was able to complete it with kind guidance. I think those who are good at drawing can create even better works. They said they would send the finished product later, and I'm looking forward to receiving it. I'm glad to have something tangible to remember this trip by. Thank you very much.

完成品は後日送ってくれるとのことで、届くのが楽しみです。

It seemed simple but was difficult; however, it was a good experience. For those who are clumsy, simple patterns or letters might be better. Next time, I want to try making a glass.

今度は、グラスを作る経験がしたくなりました。

I participated because I want to create a music box that my pet cockatiel can sing along to. There were many types of music boxes with various songs, cases, and decoration parts available, which made it time-consuming to choose. However, I selected "Sanbo," which has a nice phrase among the eight songs it can play, and I placed a blue bird of the same color on the rotating case. Right now, my bird is still wary when it sees the bird spinning on top of the music box, but I'm looking forward to the day when it gets used to it and can duet with me.

　現在、我が家のペットのオキナインコが歌える曲のオルゴールが作りたくて、参加しました。
　沢山の曲の各種オルゴールや色々なケース、デコレーション用のパーツが揃えられており、選ぶのに時間がかかりましたが、8曲ほど歌えるなかから、いいフレーズがオルゴールになっている『さんぼ』を選び、回るケースに同色の青の鳥を乗せてみました。
　今はまだオルゴールの上で回る鳥を見ると威嚇していますが、慣れて一緒にデュエットできる日が楽しみです。

It's challenging because of the special glasses, but the staff were kind and taught me patiently and slowly. You can choose from various sizes and shapes of glasses available at that time. There are plenty of picture samples, so you can enjoy it hands-free. If you're confident in your drawing skills, it's also a good idea to prepare something in advance. As it's a craft shop, the store has various items from different artists, mainly cat goods, and a few items featuring the long-tailed tit.

特殊グラスだけあって難しいですが、店員さんが優しい方だったので、丁寧にゆっくり教えていただきました。
グラスはその時にある色々な大きさ形のものを選べます。絵のサンプルたくさんあるので、それこそ手ぶらで楽しめます。絵に自信があれば事前に描いていくのもいいですね。クラフトショップだけあり、お店には様々な作家さんの…主に猫グッズ、少しシマエナガのグッズが置いてあります。

I participated with my elementary school child. It seemed fun to choose the colors and patterns of the glass. We turned it into a strap, and we really like it. It became a great memory.

小学生の子供と参加しました。ガラスの色や模様を選ぶのが楽しそうでした。ストラップにしてとても気に入っています。いい思い出になりました。

I was very happy to receive such kind instruction; it was easy to understand, and I ended up with a lovely candle. I would like to learn again if I have the opportunity.

It was a glasswork crafting experience, and since I had never done anything like it before, it was a valuable experience. I was worried about whether I would do well, but the staff kindly taught me how to make it, and I was able to create a cute accessory.

ガラス細工の製作体験でしたが、これまでやったことがなかったので貴重な体験でした。うまくいくか不安でしたが、お店の方が親切に作り方を教えてくれたのでかわいいアクセサリーを作ることができました。

Although we were at the location at the scheduled time, staff ignored us. When we finally asked if the class was going to be held (since it was only the two of us there), we were told that the sandblasting equipment must be prepared and it would take a week. Since we were not going to be in Japan for a week and since the staff seemed reluctant to even explain to us how to do the project, we decided not to participate. To add insult to injury, Veltra refused to refund our fee saying that their web description says that products not available for pickup will be shipped but only in Japan. Our friend signed up for sandblasting with another vendor (Craft Shop Ren) and she came home with her project the same day. We should have signed up with Craft Shop Ren instead of this one.

Instructions: 1. choose your glass (straight tumbler, mug with handle, tumbler with pedestal base), 2. Draw your own design on piece of paper or on glass or you can route directly on the glass. 3. Tape your paper to inside of cup. 4. Use battery-operated handpiece with assorted rotating diamond tips to roughen/etch surface of glass. That was it. No other instructions or supervision or even checking on us to see how we were doing or if we were done. When we finally decided that no one was checking on our progress, we had to go up to the lone cashier/staff then she came and boxed up our glasses to take with us.

Perhaps because it was early in the morning, the fusion experience went smoothly. The guidance was also seamless, and the staff at the store were very pleasant.

The children (5th grade, 1st grade, and preschool) experienced making glass beads. Even the little ones were able to complete their projects thanks to the support from the staff!

However, the fee for this experience only covers the glass bead making itself, and additional costs are required for the parts to attach the beads and extra decorative beads. So when the kids wanted to add "this and that," it ended up being quite a bit of money (laughs). If you can manage that, I think it's a fun experience that can be enjoyed in a short amount of time.

子ども達(小5·小1·年中)がとんぼ玉作りを体験しました。
小さい子どもでも、係の人がしっかり支えてくれたので、ちゃんと完成させることができました♪

ただ、この体験料は、とんぼ玉作りのみの料金で、作ったとんぼ玉を付けるパーツや追加の飾り用のとんぼ玉の料金は別途必要なので、子ども達が「あれもこれも…」といっぱい付けたら、結構な金額になりました(苦笑)
そこをセーブしたら、ちょっとの時間で良い体験ができる、楽しいものだと思いました。

We made earrings, piercings, and chokers with the family using fusing. However, the process is really just about choosing and combining the colors of the glass, so it’s completed in no time. It was just right for my family since my 5-year-old daughter was with us, but it might be a bit lacking for older kids in higher grades. While that’s just how fusing is, I felt there could be a bit more enjoyment in the creation process.

家族でフュージングでピアス、イアリングチョーカーを作成しました。ただ、作るといっても実際はガラスの色を選んで組み合わせて終わりなのであっという間に完了します。私の家族は5歳の娘も一緒だったのでそれでちょうど良かったのですが、もっと高学年のお子様だと物足りないかもしれません。フュージングというのはそういうものといえばそうなのですが、もう少し作る楽しみがあってもいいと感じました
