Walk along the scenic “Charenka Path” to the tip of Cape Kamui and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Sea of Japan and the famous “Shakotan Blue” ocean.
Selected as one of Japan’s “100 Best Beaches,” Shimamui Coast is famous for its crystal-clear cobalt-blue sea known as “Shakotan Blue.” Walk through a small tunnel to discover spectacular views of dramatic cliffs, rugged rocks, and the sparkling ocean.
The Otaru Canal is a symbol of Otaru, a historic port city that supported the development of Hokkaido. Lined with old brick warehouses and historic buildings, the canal offers a nostalgic atmosphere unique to Otaru.
Enjoy free time to explore the charming streets of Otaru, known for its historic canal, stone warehouses, and nostalgic atmosphere. Otaru is also famous for its fresh seafood and local sweets, making it a great place to enjoy lunch and local gourmet food.
Located in front of the Otaru Music Box Museum, this steam clock was built in 1977 and is one of only two remaining steam clocks in the world. Every 15 minutes, it plays a gentle melody, making it a popular photo spot in Otaru.
Shiroi Koibito Park is a chocolate-themed attraction operated by Ishiya, famous for Hokkaido’s popular souvenir “Shiroi Koibito.” Visitors can enjoy viewing the production area, chocolate-themed exhibits, cafés, and exclusive sweets available only at the park. Closed for maintenance on June 4, 2026.
