During peak holidays, the schedule may start about 30 minutes earlier.
Before exploring the Shiretoko Five Lakes, guests will attend a brief lecture of about 10 minutes on how to respond in case of a brown bear encounter and other safety information.
Five lakes scattered through the forest make this one of Shiretoko’s most iconic areas, guided by a veteran local expert.
・The Shiretoko Five Lakes highlight the essence of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.
・Led by a guide with over 15 years of experience in Shiretoko.
The walk concludes on an approximately 800-meter elevated boardwalk equipped with electric fencing, allowing guests to enjoy the scenery safely.

Restrictions
- Participants should generally be between 10 and 75 years old, able to go up and down stairs without difficulty, and capable of walking more than 6 km on their own.
- Guests with serious pre-existing conditions related to the circulatory, respiratory, or nervous systems must declare their medical condition and any medications in advance and bring the necessary medication on the day of the tour. Participation may be declined depending on the medical condition or physical condition on the day. Pregnant guests and those participating after consuming alcohol are not permitted to join.
- If such conditions are not declared in advance and are discovered on the day of the tour, participation will be refused and the designated cancellation fee will still apply.
- Pick-up and drop-off services are limited to the Utoro area. Shari Station, Rausu, and Hotel Chi no Hate are outside the service area.

*Gaiters and shorts are not recommended, as they increase the risk of mosquito and tick bites.
*In spring and autumn, light down jackets, fleece layers, gloves, hats that cover the ears, and thermal innerwear may be needed depending on the weather. Please prepare accordingly by checking the weekly forecast. - *In case of rain or muddy conditions, rubber boots (free of charge) and rainwear (500 yen) are available for rental. If you wish to use the rental items, please specify your size (e.g., ○○ cm, Women’s M) in the booking form.

- The tour will operate in light rain; however, it will be canceled in severe weather if safety cannot be ensured. If the tour is canceled before the start, no charges will apply. If the tour is discontinued after it has started due to sudden weather changes, no refund will be issued.
