Shirakawa-go and Gokayama have been world heritage sites I wanted to visit for a long time. Shirakawa-go was bustling with many foreign tourists. We were blessed with clear weather that day, and although there wasn't as much snow as I expected, the view from the observation deck was truly wonderful.
Gokayama has a rustic charm, and since I visited in the evening when there were no tourists, it felt like we had the place to ourselves, which was great. I recommend visiting Gokayama as well when you go to see the gassho-zukuri villages. There aren't many shops like those in Shirakawa-go, but that's part of its appeal.
There are bus tours available, but if you have a group, taking a taxi is a good option. You can use your time freely without being rushed to meet a schedule!
It was a great decision to hire a taxi for our family of four! I was also impressed by the kindness and warm personality of Mr. Y from Fuji Taxi. Thanks to him, the world heritage tour became even more memorable. Thank you very much.

We chose a taxi tour since we were traveling with an 88-year-old and an 81-year-old. When we arrived at Kanazawa Station, we received a call (voicemail), and after our arrival, they took care of us while being considerate of our senior companions as we visited Kenrokuen, Kanazawa Castle, and Higashi Chaya District. They were such wonderful people that it was hard to say goodbye. Thank you very much!

It was the best tour. The driver not only drove but also acted as a private tour guide, which was really helpful. They also provided pick-up and drop-off from the accommodation, and were quite flexible with the timing adjustments. Since the store we aimed for was closed, we were able to enjoy a delicious lunch thanks to their quick reservation at another place. We wouldn't have had such a fulfilling trip with a bus tour or just on our own. I also received great advice about other tourist spots, which was very helpful. I had a wonderful trip thanks to a fantastic sightseeing taxi driver. The White Road has many photo spots, and I enjoyed the break at the roadside station. At Shirakawa-go, the driver checked for available shops, accompanied us on local sightseeing, and even lent us an umbrella. It was truly exceptional. I would love to request the same driver again! I think we wouldn't have been able to navigate as efficiently on our own. For those in a hurry, I believe taking a route other than the White Road would be faster.

Mr. Koshida guided us around Shirakawa-go. With very careful driving and a cool, comfortable interior, the time from Kanazawa flew by. We were able to efficiently spend our time as he stopped at scenic spots along the way. My husband and son only speak English, but he communicated with them and showed interest in our local area, which made for enjoyable conversations. We also had a leisurely family meal together. Whenever we asked for family photos, he kindly took them for us. I'm really glad we asked. Thank you very much.

Since there were two people in the group who spoke English and Japanese, I requested a driver who could speak English. The driver, Mai, drove safely, adjusted to our pace, and provided very polite guidance. Shirakawa-go was in full bloom with cherry blossoms, but perhaps because it was a Monday during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was not crowded, allowing us to spend time leisurely and fully enjoy the World Heritage site, which felt very lucky. Since it was a private tour, we were able to enjoy ourselves without worrying about those around us. During the journey to Shirakawa-go, the scenery visible from the car was explained to us, allowing us to experience not just a simple transfer but also touch upon the culture and history.

Once we arrived at Shirakawa-go, we were guided to the observation deck, and afterwards, we had free time, which was nice as it allowed us to have some time just for ourselves even in a private setting.

The schedule included Gokayama as well, but there was no guidance to Gokayama. Since we mentioned in the car that we had been to Gokayama once, there might have been a misunderstanding, but the return time to Kanazawa was as scheduled, so I thought our stay in Shirakawa-go was extended and didn’t mention it to the driver.

Overall, we were able to enjoy sightseeing, and the travel was very comfortable, so I’m glad we chose this service. Thank you very much.

Please arrive in front of the hotel five minutes before the start time, and the tour began smoothly.

I was picked up at the hotel and after thoroughly exploring Shirakawa-go and Gokayama for about three hours, I was taken to Kanazawa Station. While walking through the village, the guide clearly explained the highlights, history, and local specialties, which deepened my understanding. We always wore masks, so infection control measures were in place. One thing to note is that there was an additional charge for highway and parking fees on the day of the tour, separate from the tour fee of 30,000 yen, so I would have appreciated it if those could have been included in the estimated tour cost. It was a very enjoyable tour. Thank you!

ホテルでピックアップしてもらい、白川郷と五箇山をじっくり3時間ほど見学した後、金沢駅まで送っていただきました。
村を歩きながら見どころや歴史、特産品などわかりやすく教えてくださり、理解が深まったいいツアーだったと思います。
