Enjoy Shirakawa-go before the light-up. If the weather is good, you can see the beautiful village illuminated by the setting sun.
The walking route to "Ogimachi Castle Ruins Observatory" is open until 15:45, closing at 16:10. The shuttle bus runs uphill 9:00–15:40 and downhill 9:10–16:10 (paid). Walking takes 15–20 minutes from behind Wada House.
*Traffic delays may prevent visiting the observatory.
Explore Ogimachi village's shops, eateries, and sites:
- Wada House: Largest Gassho-zukuri in Ogimachi, open to the public.
- Kanda House: Took 10 years to build; see the gunpowder area.
- Zensuke: Souvenirs and Hida specialties.
- Dining and Snacks: "Gassho" serves meals, noodles, and snacks.
Enjoy a Hoba Miso set meal featuring mountain delicacies.
Lighting Time: 17:30–19:30
Enjoy the illuminated snow and the magical scenery of Gassho-zukuri houses. The "Upside-down Gassho-zukuri" view from Myosenji is a popular photo spot.
*Observatory entrance tickets are not included in this tour. Enjoy the light-up by exploring the village.

Restrictions

- Children aged 2–5 can participate at the same rate as adults. Infants (0–1 year) are free but do not have a bus seat.

Required items to bring & attire
- During the light-up event at night, temperatures range from -10°C to 0°C, and roads may be icy. It is advisable to wear warm, waterproof clothing, boots with spikes, and to bring a flashlight due to dark conditions underfoot.
Additional notes
- This tour does not include observatory admission tickets for the light-up period.
- The use of drones is prohibited in Shirakawa-go. Violations may result in penalties.
- The admission ticket is a neck holder type, and it should be worn at all times during gate entry and while exploring the village.
