On the bus ride there, the tour guide shared how to enjoy Shirakawa-go, and during our free time, we explored Shirakawa-go following her advice.
We drank the local sake doburoku, leisurely toured the gassho-zukuri buildings, and walked to the farthest edge of Shirakawa-go, which was cutting it close on time, but we had a very fulfilling experience.
When I visited, there was quite a bit of snow, but the snowy Shirakawa-go had a lot of charm, and I'm glad I went.

I visited Shirakawa-go for the first time in winter, right after a heavy snowfall. Just a few days before we participated, the tour was canceled due to the heavy snow. The roads to Shirakawa-go and Gokayama were covered in snow and in an icy condition, making it impossible to drive there by car. However, thanks to the bus tour, we were able to travel to Shirakawa-go and Gokayama safely. I was truly impressed by the driver's skills and am very grateful.
The snowy scenery of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama was truly wonderful. It was a sight that made me think, "I definitely want to come back next winter." Moreover, not just next winter, but I genuinely want to revisit in spring, summer, and even autumn... It was a journey that made me feel this way. My second-grade daughter also joined us, and she said, "I want to go again!" It's not an amusement park, zoo, or aquarium trip, but I believe it left a lasting impression on us. This was my first time visiting Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, and the explanations and guidance were very clear. The gassho-zukuri villages covered in pure white snow were incredibly beautiful, and I had a great time. My younger sister, who had just studied "traditional living" at school, kept saying, "It was fun and interesting."
The gassho-zukuri villages in winter were deeper in snow than I had imagined, and I really understood why they are referred to as "islands in the mountains." It was clear that the structures were built for winter as I walked through the village. I was amazed by the meticulousness of the attic spaces in the gassho-zukuri houses! The lunch was also very delicious, and I was able to have seconds, which made me very satisfied!
The last experience of making senbei was really warm and cozy. The timing for flipping them was a bit tricky, but the senbei I made myself was very tasty. I was also happy with the souvenirs!

The reason I chose this tour was the richness of the course. I thought it would be difficult to go on my own, and I was a bit anxious about being alone, but I decided to sign up. There were a few other solo travelers as well. On the bus, the guide provided clear explanations about recommended sightseeing points, photo spots, and souvenir information, which were very helpful. Shirakawa-go in late autumn was incredibly beautiful. For lunch, we had mountain delicacies. I participated with a friend. The forecast predicted a change from rain to snow on the day of our visit. It was raining in Kanazawa, but it started snowing on the way to Shirakawa-go, and Shirakawa-go had a light dusting of snow. I thought it was great that the seats on the bus were already assigned before boarding. Also, the bus route allowed us to get an overall view of Shirakawa-go, which made it efficient for us to explore freely. The tour guide also pointed out recommended photo spots, and I was able to take the best pictures. The lunch was very delicious as well. We were blessed with calm weather, and I felt that having a slightly longer free time was nice.
Since we arrived back a bit earlier than scheduled, thanks to the tour guide's arrangement, we were able to disembark first, which allowed us to catch an earlier train to our next destination and avoid about an hour of delay. I regret not being able to thank the guide properly at the end.

This was my first time booking a tour with this company, so I was honestly a bit anxious. However, the guide was incredibly attentive, and it truly became a wonderful memory. The driving was safe, and I felt at ease during the ride. The driver was cheerful and very kind.
I lost something on the bus, but the guide, the driver, and everyone participating helped look for it, for which I am very grateful.
I had considered going without a reservation and renting a car, but I think this tour was great because we didn't have to wait for meals and had plenty of time.

I prepared for snow and rain, but contrary to expectations, it only drizzled under a cloudy sky, and I didn't need to use an umbrella. Without any explanation, I might have just lazed around Shirakawa-go, but thanks to our knowledgeable guide, I was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery from one end of Shirakawa-go to the other.
We started with a rice cracker-making experience, and on the way back, we were able to return non-stop to Kanazawa Station, which gave us extra time to visit Kenrokuen Garden, so that was great.
