The bus tour was a great way to explore two UNESCO villages even on a very rainy day. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny giving us tips along the way in both Japanese and English.

We were a small group of just about 15 people on a bus for about 27. The bus was very comfy. The time we had to explore on our own was sufficient. The lunch was very yummy and served traditional style.

I had always wanted to visit Shirakawa-go.
For this trip to Kanazawa, I adjusted my schedule mainly around the tour from VELTRA.
The clear explanations during the bus tour, fluent English, everything was perfect.
We left early in the morning and returned in the evening. Time flew by.
There were plenty of highlights, and the food was delicious.

Given that we could only stay for just over three hours, I would have preferred free time. This way, everyone could spend their time more flexibly according to their own purposes and schedules.

Regarding meals, there are many delicious and diverse food options available throughout Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, so it would be best to allow individuals to enjoy their own food experiences. Especially for tours with many foreigners, preferences vary by cultural background, and there are also religious restrictions (for example, Indians cannot eat beef, and Muslims have halal requirements), so it's better to avoid a standardized meal.

The lack of charging ports for mobile devices on the bus was a critical issue. In today's long sightseeing bus tours, charging facilities are a must.

We gathered at Kanazawa Station at 8 AM, and the bus was mostly filled with foreign tourists. It was an older sightseeing bus, and there was no restroom.

Since we arrived early, there weren't many people around, and the snowy scenery was charming. After a while, it became crowded with foreign tourists, which surprised me.

As soon as we arrived, we had free time. I hurriedly walked to the farthest point while taking photos. I couldn't stroll around because of the time constraints, so personally, I wished I had a bit more time.

For lunch, we had a healthy course meal with plenty of wild vegetables at a restaurant with the tour group. The portion was small, but it was just right for me. The grilled meat on the magnolia leaf was very delicious.

When we arrived at the second location, Gokayama, the snow started to fall heavily. There were hardly any people here, and it was quiet and picturesque. I preferred this place more.

Finally, the cheerful smile of the bus guide, who provided explanations in both English and Japanese with some humor, was great. I was satisfied to be able to visit the snowy Shirakawa-go and Gokayama!

現地に早く着いたので、あまり人もおらず雪景色が風情があった。少し経つと外国の観光客で溢れかえっていて、びっくりした。

着いてすぐフリータイム。急ぎ足であちこち写真撮りながら一番端っこまで歩く。時間がないのでブラブラはできず、個人的にはもう少し時間欲しかったかな。

ランチはツアーの人とレストランでヘルシーな山菜多めのコース料理。量は少なめだけど、私にはちょうど良い。朴葉焼のお肉がとてもおいしかった。

二箇所目の五箇山に着くと雪が本降り。こちらにはほとんど人がいなく静かで趣深い。こちらの方が好みであった。

最後にバスガイドさんの明るい笑顔で英語と日本語での笑いも交えながらの説明、良かったです。雪の白川郷、五箇山に行く事が出来て満足です！

We stopped at roadside stations and enjoyed a delicious Hida beef wrapped in bamboo leaf miso grilled lunch in Shirakawa-go without any waiting, making it a fantastic experience. Shirakawa-go had more snow than usual this year. Due to an avalanche, we could only reach the observation deck by shuttle bus, but we gave up because of the long line waiting for the bus. It was nice to see the filming location of "Saiai" as well.

I had wanted to visit Shirakawa-go for a long time, so when I saw the limited-time light-up tour, I thought I had to go and participated. In the end, it was definitely the right decision! Shirakawa-go had amazing scenery even during the day, so I was already satisfied with that. I thought the light-up area was a bit smaller than I expected, but the atmosphere changed from the daytime to a magical scene at night. Since I had some time, I warmed up in the hot springs in Shirakawa-go, and as someone who loves hot springs, the slightly slippery water quality was just fantastic. The guide on the bus back shared interesting stories, so the time didn't feel long at all. I ended up sleeping on the way back, though, haha. It was also convenient to go from Kanazawa. Thank you very much!

以前から白川郷には行きたいと思っていたので、日程限定のライトアップツアーを見た時は行くしかない！と思って参加しました。
結果、行って正解でした！
白川郷は普通に昼間でも最高の景色だったのでそれだけでも満足でした。
ライトアップは思っていたより範囲が少ないかな？と思いましたが、昼間の雰囲気とは変わって夜は幻想的な景色になりました。
時間があったので白川郷の温泉で温まったのですが、温泉好きの私としてはぬるっとした湯質がこれまた最高でした。
往復のバス内でもガイドの方が興味深く話をしてくださったので、時間も長く感じなかったです。帰りは寝てましたが、笑
金沢から出ているのも行きやすくてよかったです。

I participated in a bus tour during my trip to Kanazawa. It’s an easy trip, taking about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Kanazawa. The tour guide's explanations were also very thorough. I was very satisfied to enjoy both the daytime and the illuminated night views of Shirakawa-go. Since meals were included, it was a relief not to have to search for a restaurant.
