Kiyomizudera Temple, along with the Kinkakuji Golden Pavilion, is at the top of many “must-see Kyoto” lists. Your journey starts in central Kyoto, as you are whisked away to visit the famous Kinkakuji Temple. Enjoy the reflection of the gilded gold leaf off the pond and relax as you stroll through the beautiful gardens. Next, visit Kiyomizudera Temple, with its unique architecture and spectacular views.

Finally visit the beautiful Kodaiji Temple, established by Nene in 1605 to honor her late husband, the former shogun Toyotomi Hideyoshi. With a tranquil Zen rock garden and lush landscapes, this is one of Kyoto’s most stunning temples.

While many come to the temple itself, to witness the pure beauty and serenity, the surrounding garden is not to be missed, as it is one of the most exquisite Muromachi Period gardens in the country.
  • Kiyomizudera Temple (70 minutes)
    kiyomizu Founded in 780 on the site of the Ottawa Waterfall, it is said the water that flows beneath the temple has magical wish-granting powers.

    The roof of the main hall of Kiyomizudera Temple is currently under construction, but the site is open to the public.
  • Kodaiji Temple (60 minutes)
    Kodaiji Kodaiji's serene and peaceful nature make it one of the most important Zen Temples in all of Japan.
