Awesome Tour!

Thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour, worth absolutely every dollar and step we took! Learned interesting facts about the life of the geiko/maiko. Saw the shrines that they visit, storefront for the purchase of Hair pieces, and boarding houses. We even got lucky and saw 2 maiko on our tour that evening. Highly recommend!

it was very good and the tour guide was wonderful.

I enjoyed the trip and the information. Our guide was very good and was very informative. She had a great attitude and was very friendly.
It was a great tour but the group was a little to big to really hear everything, but again we really enjoyed it.

Highly recommended tour!

The Gion evening tour about Geisha's world, was very interesting.
Very well organized, it allowed a inside view of the mysterious lives of Meiko's and Geiko's.
A lot of information was shared.
The guide was very nice, spoke perfectly English!
I highly recommend this tour!

Overcrowded

Tour size was at least 60+. Way too many people. wasn't able to enjoy the tour and we even left early.

Awesome gion tour!

My brother and I had a wonderful time on this tour! Ally was so lovely and very knowledgeable. We were really lucky to spot some geisha during the tour, which was a highlight. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Recommended...but....

My second time to take this tour, this time with friends. Guide was knowledgeable, but our group size was much too large, making this experience much less enjoyable. I suggest limiting the group size to improve the overall enjoyment.

Affordable, entertaining and educational

Mia, our guide, was fun and knowledgable. Loads of information on the cultural life of a Maiko/Geikas. We were successful in spotting both scurrying down the streets of Gion. A few good tips on restaurants and areas to return to. Great tour for all ages.

Wonderful and informative

Booking was easy, price was very affordable and our tour guide, Ally, was awesome. It was super informative and she answered our questions well. Her English was clear and she said as very nice. If I did have to change one thing though, it would be to make the group size smaller.

I have always been fascinated with Japanese culture, and geishas are so very legit-Jap. This tour was an eye-opener not only because i learned more about Japan, but more importantly because i now have a higher level of praise and respect for women to choose to live the life of a geisha.

This is definitely a must-do when you're in Kansai area.

We did the Gion Geisha district evening walking tour with Mia (or is it Mya?).
She was entertaining, and showed us many things around Gion, explaining about the Geiko (Geisha) training and lives while showing us different relevant buildings all around.

It was a very informative, but still entertaining tour, and I recommend it

Very interesting guided tour

Eriko (Ellie) our guide was a smiling and very knowledgeable guide who had a lot of interesting info and anecdotes about geikos and maikos in Kyoto. She also had recommendations for restaurants and other tips at the end of the visit. The tour started on time and ran smoothly.

Intresting

It was interesting for most of us. Children under 18 were less interested. We only saw Mariko in the end for 1 second so were disappointed.. But it's not their fault. Eli was great. My only remark is that the meeting point does not exist on Google map and it was difficult to find them.

Overall nice, great instructer, too many people

The tour was overall good and definitely worth the price. Our instructer was great, very professional and nice. However, the group was too large and together with cars passing by, it was often hard to hear. I suggest to stop the explanations for a moment when cars/motorcycles pass by

Our tour guide was a wonderful fountain of knowledge and had infinite amounts of patients to answer tons of questions the group had to throw at her!
We had a great time and very much enjoyed the tour.
