I had the pleasure of being guided by a knowledgeable guide who provided extensive information about the history, plants, birds, and bears of Togakushi, allowing me to enjoy the visit to the five shrines. Fortunately, the weather was also favorable, making for a fulfilling day. The long staircase leading up to the starting point, Hakko Shrine, and the Okusha is quite a climb!

Our tour guide, Peter, was AMAZING.
The tour itself was great but Peter truly took it to the next level. His knowledge of the history of the snow monkeys and Zenko-ji was insightful and interesting.
He was clear and concise when explaining Buddhism and different aspects that are portrayed on the temple premise.
Overall I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Japan. It is worth it to make the trip to Nagano!
