Amidst the howling cold wind, I participated in a one-day tour. The guide stood the entire time and shared stories without interruption. It would be quite difficult to explore all of this on my own, but it was very enjoyable to have the tour guide lead us. I am very satisfied. The driver also greeted us every time we got on and off, which felt very nice. Thank you very much!

The meeting time isn't too early, so you can participate even if you don't stay overnight in Nara city. The itinerary is stable, the sightseeing bus company is reliable, and if you get a veteran guide, the explanations flow smoothly—it's an excellent plan all around.
This time, the plan included lunch (after Hōryū-ji and Chūgū-ji, we had kamameshi), and the itinerary was carefully calculated to ensure that we could start eating as soon as we arrived at the lunch venue, perfectly timed with the cooking of the kamameshi (the coordination along the way was impressive).
The guidance for the goshuin (temple stamps) was also perfect (don't forget your goshuin-chō!). Once we entered the temple grounds, we weren't guided at every single location; instead, we had some flexible free time for exploration, allowing us to move at our own pace according to our stamina.
Overall, it's a flawless and outstanding plan!

境内に入ってからは全ての場所を付きっきりでガイドをしてもらうわけではなく、臨機応変に自由散策の時間ももらえますので、自分の体力に合わせて巡ることができます。

Horyu-ji Temple is located away from Nara city, and since there were five of us, we used a chartered taxi. We passed in front of the Nara Hotel from Nara Park, and while being soothed by the pleasant voice of our guide, we headed to Ikaruga. We were able to see the exhibits in Horyu-ji, the world's oldest wooden structure from the Asuka period, and Chugu-ji with clear explanations. After the tour, we extended our visit to the Fujinoki Tomb and were satisfied to experience the atmosphere of ancient times.

The weather was a bit disappointing and cloudy, but I was able to experience the wonderful history that is different from Kyoto, known as the ancient capital. My trip to Nara, especially visiting the areas of Hōryū-ji and Tōshōdai-ji, was best experienced through a bus tour. I considered taking the train and walking, or even renting a car, but I might have just reached my destinations without fully enjoying the journey. I believe this would have been especially true for middle-aged and older travelers. I'm grateful for the wonderful tour that was organized for us.

The bus driver and the guide were both very kind and gentle, making for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and answered questions accurately. The driver was always very safety-conscious and, while modest, showed a wonderful and kind personality. I'm really glad I booked this. It's quite difficult to visit so many temples in one day on your own.

I was impressed by the driver's knowledge. He provided thoughtful recommendations for World Heritage shrines and other suggested shrines without being pushy, which gave us a sense of comfort during our sightseeing time. The trip for the two women became a wonderful memory despite the rain. We definitely plan to visit again during cherry blossom season, and of course, we will request a taxi.
