I participated in a mangrove kayak tour and a visit to Yubu Island!
The mangroves were surrounded by trees on both sides, making the waterways narrow, which gave a thrilling sense of adventure and was really enjoyable.
I got stuck in the mangroves a few times, but our guide, Rui, kindly helped me out and provided just the right amount of advice.
The visit to Yubu Island was great because we got to ride water buffalo to the island, which is an experience you don't usually get.
I had a fun day overall. Thank you!
マングローブのカヤックツアーと由布島観光に参加しました！
マングローブは左右が木に囲まれて水路が狭く、冒険をしている感じでスリルがあり楽しめました。
何度かマングローブに引っ掛かって行き詰まりましたが、担当ガイドのるいさんに親切に助けていただき、また適度なアドバイスで助かりました。
由布島観光は、水牛に乗って離島に行けて、普段は体験できないので良かったです。

The canoeing and snorkeling experiences were led by different instructors, but both made sure to frequently check on the participants' well-being, allowing us to enjoy a safe and fun time. Since I didn't rent a car, the shuttle service from the accommodation to the activity points was really helpful. It was also enjoyable to hear various stories along the way. Thank you very much.

It was tough to wake up early, but I'm glad I participated. I was worried about canoeing for the first time, but it turned out to be easier than I expected. The moment the sunrise came up in the quiet space with only the sounds of birds and waves was moving. The instructor also took some photos for us. If I get the chance, I would like to join the sunset session as well. Thank you! 😊

Due to bad weather, we couldn't do snorkeling and SUP at the planned location, but they suggested an alternative spot. As a result, we unexpectedly got to see sea turtles, which made us very happy. The SUP instructor was a really funny guy, so we were never bored. It was a lot of fun.
悪天候で予定のポイントでのシュノーケルとSUPが出来ませんでしたが、別ポイントでの開催を提案して頂きました。結果、予定外にウミガメにも会うこともできとても満足です。SUPのインストラクターのお兄さんがとても面白い方だったので全く退屈しませんでした。とても楽しかったです。

The first thing that caught my eye was the strong mangrove forest with its deeply rooted trees. The countless roots stretching out from the mud looked like living sculptures, and I felt the resilience of nature. As I paddled along the water's surface, branches and leaves spread out on both sides, making it feel like I was rowing through a green tunnel. The breeze was gentle, and every time I looked up at the sky, the bright blue and white clouds were stunning.
The guide was really kind, and their explanations were clear and interesting! They talked about the nature and wildlife of Iriomote Island in a fun way, providing not just beautiful scenery but also plenty of learning opportunities. I felt a sense of security, which allowed me to relax and enjoy canoeing even as a first-timer.
As I glided over the calm water, I was enveloped in a feeling of "time flowing slowly," something I can't experience in my daily life, and I felt truly refreshed. Being healed by the energy of nature and encountering views that can only be seen here was a truly special experience.
The great nature of Iriomote Island was amazing! I want to go again! ^_^
最初に目に飛び込んできたのは、力強く根を張ったマングローブの森。泥の中から無数に伸びる根っこはまるで生きている彫刻みたいで、自然のたくましさを感じました。水面を進んでいくと、両脇から覆いかぶさるように枝葉が広がって、まるで緑のトンネルの中を漕いでいるみたい。風も穏やかで、時々空を見上げると真っ青な空と白い雲が映えて最高でした。

I participated in a SUP and snorkeling session that ended in the morning at the beginning of September, when the weather can be quite changeable. The weather was nice, and during low tide, the sea sparkled, making the coral visible up close. I struggled to keep up with the SUP until I got the hang of it, but since it was early in the morning, there were few people around, and I was able to jump into the sea and enjoy a refreshing time.
I had a hard time finding a turtle while snorkeling and thought I might not see one, but I kept swimming. Thanks to the instructor who didn’t give up searching, I was finally able to meet a turtle leisurely eating at the end.
Since I had arranged for transportation, getting around was easy, and I got to hear interesting stories about island life and was recommended some delicious places to eat. I had some anxiety about being back in the sea after a long time, but from start to finish, Ricky's smile encouraged me, and my family was able to have a great time!
天候が変わりやすい9月頭に午前中で終わるSUPとシュノーケリングに参加しました。天気もよく、干潮で海がキラキラと珊瑚が近い距離に見えました。SUPは慣れるまでついてくのに必死だったけど、朝イチだったので人も少なく、海に飛び込んだり気持ちのいい時間を過ごせました。シュノーケリングはなかなか亀さんが見つからず、見れないかなーと思ってましたが、ひたすら泳ぐ泳ぐ。お姉さんが諦めずに探してくれたおかげで最後にのんびり食事中の亀さんに会うことができました。
今回は送迎をお願いしてたので移動も楽に、車内では島の暮らしや、いろんな面白い話を聞かせてもらったり、美味しいお店も教えてもらえました。久しぶりの海に不安があったけど、最初から最後まで担当のリッキーの笑顔に励まされ家族で楽しむことができました！

In the morning, I went snorkeling, and in the afternoon, I did mangrove kayaking. The snorkeling was guided kindly by Yume, and I was very satisfied to land on Barasu Island! She was a very beautiful guide! In the afternoon, we went mangrove kayaking! I learned a lot about the nature of Iriomote Island and was able to see the mangroves up close! It was amazing!

The Pumpkin Cave is a sacred place, and I felt that the tour was conducted with great care, which was very good! The final jump was thrilling and fun.

On my first trip to Miyako Island, I signed up for a tour to experience marine sports all at once.
We started with sea kayaking and then explored a limestone cave, and I was completely overwhelmed by the mystical beauty of Pumpkin! Jumping from Pumpkin was also thrilling and a lot of fun!
We had about a two-hour lunch break, so I took a short nap before joining the snorkeling activity. The guide, with his refreshing smile, made it enjoyable, and I learned about the corals and fish of Miyako Island. The water was incredibly clear, and I was so excited to see sea turtles up close!
I was moved by how close I could get to the corals and many different types of fish. I'm really glad I participated in this tour. Thank you!

We experienced the pumpkin cave and snorkeling course with our family of four, including high school and university students. Thank you to Kana, a cheerful and energetic young man from Osaka who resembles Shuhei Nomura. We are grateful for your kind and attentive service, which helped us create wonderful family memories. It was our first time in Miyako Island, and we were amazed by the beautifully clear blue sea and sky, the mystical caves, and the sight of Nemo and adorable sea turtles swimming right in front of us. In the early morning, during the time when the heat has yet to ease, I arrived at the location. I learned how to use the oars and initially thought, "I will paddle on my own without relying on my partner," and got into the kayak with determination. However, that enthusiasm turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
Just lightly dipping the oars into the water allowed the kayak to glide remarkably smoothly. When I stopped paddling, it felt as if time had stopped, and I could simply float on the river's surface. The instructor kindly taught us, saying, "The kingfisher is calling," and "The mangrove is a type of tree called 'Mehirugi'," paying attention to each participant, which made it easy to enjoy the experience.
The river's flow was so gentle that I hardly noticed it, and when I looked up, I saw the bright blue sky and pure white clouds typical of Okinawa. I heard that families participated, and even a 93-year-old had joined, making me feel that this tour was enjoyable even for someone in their 70s like me.
This tour created many memories. It was a wonderful experience that allowed me to rediscover the charm of Okinawa, and I now want to challenge myself to kayak on another river next time.

I was able to go to Barasu Island, which I had wanted to visit for a long time, and I was deeply moved! Initially, the plan was to land by boat, but I received a call the day before saying that due to the tides, we couldn't land by boat and had to choose between snorkeling to get there or giving up on Barasu Island and going to Yufu Island instead (there was originally a note about the possibility of changing the tour).
Since I have children and had never been to a place where I couldn't touch the bottom, I was anxious about snorkeling, but our guide, Toshi, kindly explained everything over the phone, which I really appreciated. In the end, I was glad I chose snorkeling. I got to see a lot of fish in the beautiful sea, and I was able to go to Barasu Island as well.
The mangrove canoeing was also fun, as we could all ride together as a family of five, and it felt like an adventure. I would like to join Toshi's tour again next time!

子供もおり、足がつかない所に行ったことがなかった為シュノーケリングに不安がありましたがガイドのトッシーが電話で丁寧に説明してくださりありがたかったです。結果、シュノーケリングを選んで良かったです。綺麗な海で魚をたくさん見られたし、バラス島にも行くことができました。
マングローブカヌーも、夫婦と子供３人乗りができ、冒険のようで楽しかったです。

I previously went snorkeling in Onna Village and didn't enjoy it much, but this time there were plenty of fish, and I was able to snorkel freely and have fun! We went to see sea turtles and clownfish. Even if you're not a strong swimmer, you can enjoy it while receiving guidance from the instructor. I was almost out of energy here... haha.
Pumpkin Cave with Naoki from 3:00 PM:
It was a tour full of adventure, allowing us to experience the extraordinary as we kayaked to the cave.
Thanks to Naoki's humorous explanations, we were able to enjoy the cave experience.

I participated in a morning mangrove canoe activity. We were transported by bus from the port to the mangroves, and the explanations were thorough and easy to understand, allowing us to fully enjoy the activity! There were multiple groups participating, but three instructors were present, ensuring we had plenty of fun. Instructor Rui taught us a lot about canoeing, the mangroves, and Iriomote Island itself, making it easy for beginners to enjoy the natural beauty of Iriomote without feeling nervous. On the day, there were a few clouds, which made it take some time to see the sunrise, but it rained a little, and we got to see a big rainbow, creating the perfect situation. The guide took many great photos, and the atmosphere was relaxed, making it just right for the sunrise in Iriomote Island. I would love to request the same guide when I go again.
当日は雲が少しかかり、サンライズ観るまでに時間がかかりましたが、その分少し雨が降って大きな虹が観れて最高のシチュエーションとなりました。
ガイドの方もたくさんいい写真を撮ってくださり、雰囲気もゆったりとしていて、西表島のサンライズにピッタリでした。
次に行く時も同じガイドさんにお願いしたいくらいです。

It was my first time snorkeling, but I felt at ease participating in the tour thanks to the attentive service. The guide had extensive knowledge about the fish we could see in the ocean, allowing me to enjoy searching for them while swimming. The caves were also mystical and wonderful. The guide took plenty of photos and videos, so I was able to look back and enjoy them later. If I have the chance to visit Ishigaki Island again, I would definitely like to participate!
初めてのシュノーケリングでしたが、丁寧な対応で安心してツアーに参加できました。
海でみえる魚の知識も豊富で、自分で泳ぎながら探して楽しむことができました。
もちろん洞窟も神秘的でよかったです。

We visited Miyako Island on a family trip. Thinking that there may not be many opportunities to travel with our children, I wanted to create some good memories, so I participated. Although we didn't see any turtles while snorkeling, I was amazed by the clarity of the water. Especially at the Pumpkin Cave, the energetic young man from Osaka taught us with great care, and his stories were entertaining.
My wife fell ill partway through, but if we have the chance, I would love to enjoy the Pumpkin Cave and kayaking again. It became a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our family, and the memories with the young men who provided and supported such opportunities will also remain special. Thank you very much.
家族旅行で訪れた宮古島。子どもと一緒に旅する機会はもうあまり無いだろうと思いつつ、何か良い思い出づくりをしたいと思い参加しました。シュノーケリングではカメに会えなかったものの、水の透明さに驚きました。特にパンプキン鍾乳洞、カヤックでは元気の良い大阪のお兄さんが丁寧に教えてくれて、話も面白くて良かったです。
妻が途中で体調を崩してしまいましたが、機会があればまたパンプキン鍾乳洞とカヤックを楽しみに行きたいと思います。

Transportation is necessary as the spots for the attractions vary. A rental car would be ideal. The kayak trip is less than 1 km round trip, making it relatively easy and enjoyable for young children
