I was amazed to see sea turtles and a variety of tropical fish just a short distance from the beach (though I don't have any photos...). The area is relatively shallow, so the fish are quite close, making it feel like you're swimming in a large aquarium. It's a tour that you can easily enjoy right by the beach without having to venture out into the open ocean.
However, there weren't any photos of the many beautiful fish in the data I received, so I wish they had taken pictures of other fish besides just the sea turtles and clownfish. That way, I could have shared the beauty of this beach with my friends.
The canoeing in the afternoon was perfect for leisurely enjoying the sparkling water and the beautiful Miyako Blue. If you want to enjoy the scenery, I personally recommend canoeing over stand-up paddleboarding, as it allows you to explore further.
ビーチから少し入っただけでウミガメなや多種多様な熱帯魚を見られるとは思っていなかったので感動の嵐でした(写真はありませんが...)。比較的浅瀬のエリアなので魚との距離も近く、まるで大きな水族館の中で泳いでいる気分。外洋まで出ずともビーチ際で手軽に楽しめるツアーです。
ただ、沢山の美しい魚の写真は送られてきたデータには一枚もなかったので、ウミガメとクマノミだけでなく、他の魚も撮っていただければ、こちらのビーチの美しさを友人たちにも伝えることができたなあと思います。
昼からのカヌーは、キラキラ輝く水面、宮古ブルーをのんびり楽しむには最適。景色を楽しみたい方は、サップよりぐるっと遠くまで探検できるカヌーが個人的にはおすすめです。

I visited Iriomote Island for the first time and booked a tour to go to Yubu Island by kayak and water buffalo. In the morning, I experienced kayaking and explored the mangrove forest for about an hour. I really felt the beauty of nature. The staff were very kind and explained everything well, making it a lot of fun! After that, we took a lunch break and then it was time to go to Yubu Island by water buffalo cart! We arrived at the island in about 10 minutes and enjoyed about an hour on Yubu Island. The gelato from a shop called Yubu Island Chaya was incredibly delicious! The island banana flavor is the top recommendation.

I was taken to the mangroves of Urauchi River. It was my first time kayaking, and it was really fun. The scenery was surrounded by nature, and the mangroves were very beautiful. Walking through the mangrove forest made me feel like I was in a Studio Ghibli film. The guide took a lot of photos and provided plenty of explanations. I'm glad I was able to participate on a nice day. It was such an enjoyable experience that I would love to join again.

I visited Iriomote Island for the first time. The kayaking experience surrounded by the magnificent mangrove nature was unforgettable, and the air was so fresh. My companions and the instructor were very warm and made the experience truly enjoyable!!! After kayaking, I had goya champuru at Gen Shokudo. It was very soothing for my tired body. The water buffaloes were so cute and provided a relaxing time. It's only about a 50-minute trip from Ishigaki Island, so I highly recommend it!

I participated on January 18! It was a bit cold in short sleeves, so it's good to have something to wear over. When kayaking, your lower body will get wet up to your underwear, so a change of clothes is a must. 😅 After the kayaking experience, you can take a warm shower! I booked a tour on January 4th after the New Year. I think there were about 20 other guests accompanying me. The guides were all young men, and they were very kind. Even if it's your first time canoeing, it's easy, so I don't think you need to worry. If you're slow at paddling, the guide will wait for you! The view of crossing the sea to Yubu Island was more beautiful than I imagined, and the water buffalo were cute and soothing. I was able to see the large pond where the water buffalo live up close! The ice cream at Yubu Island Tea House is exquisite. You can enjoy tea while looking at the beach. However, since it's a tour, there might be a line due to overlapping timings with other guests, so I recommend going to line up as soon as you arrive on the island.

He was knowledgeable about plants, and I was able to hear many interesting stories about them, which made for an enjoyable experience.
On the other hand, I felt that there was a slight disconnect from the purpose of observing creatures that are unique to the night. There was no explanation about the animals highlighted in the tour, such as the coconut crab, and I didn't hear much in-depth discussion about animals or insects.
Since we are dealing with nature, I don't have any complaints about not encountering certain creatures. I also understand that different guides have different areas of expertise, and I appreciate hearing stories I wouldn't have imagined. However, since the tour takes place at night, I think it would have increased the sense of satisfaction and understanding if there had been explanations about why we search at night and what kinds of animals we might encounter because it's nighttime.
Overall, I believe that participating in the tour and entering the jungle at night was valuable, but the content was plant-focused, and it was hard to understand the "benefits of participating specifically at night."

I visited Ishigaki Island during the three-day weekend in January. I jumped on a bus departing from Ishigaki Airport at 1 PM and joined a tour, where I had a wonderful time throughout.
On that day, the wind was strong, and we couldn't enter the sea on the Blue Cave side, so we went snorkeling at a beach about a five-minute drive from Ishigaki Port.
Following the guide's instructions, I put on a wetsuit and entered the sea. At first, it felt cold, but I gradually got used to it and was able to find beautiful coral reefs and schools of small fish. Along the way, I also spotted a fish called Irabucha, which the guide mentioned is delicious to eat. They even recommended a restaurant where I could try it, and I was impressed by how friendly and approachable they were.

石垣空港から13時発のバスに飛び乗り、ツアーに参加しましたが、終始楽しい時間を過ごせました。
当日は風が強く、青の洞窟側の海に入れないとのことで石垣港から送迎車で5分程の場所にある海岸でのシュノーケリングになりました。
ガイドさんの指示に従い、ウェットスーツを着ていざ海に入ったところ、最初は冷たく感じましたが徐々に慣れてきて、素敵な珊瑚礁や小魚の群れを見つけることができました。
途中、イラブチャーというお魚も見つけ、ガイドさん曰く美味しく食べられるとのこと。そちらがいただけるおすすめのお店も紹介してもらえたりと、とても気さくに話してくださったことも印象に残っております。

I participated alone. Originally, I had a one-day plan booked, but I was informed that we couldn't go to the Blue Cave due to high waves, so I canceled the snorkeling part and only joined the morning mangrove tour.
There were a total of five participants, including families and another solo participant, with one guide. I had only done canoeing once nearly ten years ago, but I was able to paddle without any issues. The canoe experience on the Urunai River was amazing, with very clear water. I learned from our guide, Matsushita (nicknamed Macchan), that the area near the river mouth is brackish water, and that the mangroves differ between the riverbanks and the sandbars. The weather was also perfect that day, with gentle winds, making it a wonderful experience.
After lunch, we took a water buffalo cart to Yufu Island. I heard from the water buffalo cart guide that after a natural disaster made the area uninhabitable, an elderly man planted the vegetation that became the foundation of the current botanical garden. It was surprising to see so many flowers blooming in January, and I was lucky enough to capture a photo of a butterfly coming to sip nectar.
During the ride to and from Yufu Island, in addition to explanations about the water buffalo, we were treated to songs played on the sanshin, which made for some great memories. I want to thank Macchan for taking care of us during the bus rides, canoeing, and the trip to Yufu Island. マングローブも河岸と中洲で種類が違うとガイドの松下さん（通称まっちゃん）が教えてくださったり、またこの日は天気も良く、風もさほど強くない穏やかな日で最高でした。
昼食後は水牛の観光車で由布島へ。
自然災害で人が住めなくなった後、お爺さん1人で植物を植え、今の植物園の礎を作ったと水牛車のガイドさんからお話をお聞きしました。1月と思えない程のたくさんの花々が咲いており、ちょうど蝶々が蜜を吸いにやって来たところを運良く写真に収める事ができました。
行き帰りの水牛車では、水牛の説明の他、三線で歌を披露していただいたり、とても良い思い出となりました。
バスの移動時の運転から、カヌー引率、由布島までの移動等、まっちゃんにはお世話になりました。
また、バスでガイドをしてくれたショウゴさんや、準備をしてくださった方々、水牛車ガイド方々にもお世話になりました。

I paddled a canoe for the first time in a place rich in nature. The guides were all friendly and shared various stories with us, even providing detailed explanations about the mangroves! I can only describe them as truly kind.
I also got along well with the other participants, and in the afternoon at Yufu Island, we spent time together and had many conversations, experiencing the wonderful connections that travel brings.

I participated in a mangrove canoe and Yubu Island water buffalo cart tour in early January. In the morning, we had a canoe experience in the mangrove forest. The strong winds made it difficult to paddle at first, but once we entered the mangrove area, the wind was blocked, making it much easier to paddle. It was a highly satisfying tour where I could fully enjoy the natural beauty of Miyako Island. The clarity of the ocean was beyond my expectations, and I was thrilled to see sea turtles up close while snorkeling! The Pumpkin Cave was even more impressive in person than in photos, and spending time in that quiet space was very pleasant. The canoeing was physically manageable, allowing us to leisurely enjoy the scenery as we progressed. The guide's explanations and attentiveness were just right, which made me feel secure throughout the tour—this left a great impression! Thank you to the charming and dandy bearded gentlemen, Gen-chan and Ryoma! 😊

As expected from a large tour company, it was great that reservations and cancellations were possible even the day before, providing a high level of flexibility, which made it reassuring to book considering the weather and other factors. Additionally, I took advantage of a campaign from VELTRA that offered one person free, making it more affordable.
The communication felt quite business-like, and it seemed they were diligently following a manual. I participated in a half-day kayak tour, and the hotel pick-up was smooth. There were five of us kayaking on the calm waters of the Urauchi River.
Although there seemed to be many guides, our guide was knowledgeable and explained the names of various plants well, allowing us to fully enjoy the nature of Iriomote Island. While I think kayaking and SUP tours in Ishigaki Island might be slightly cheaper, I believe it’s better to experience the more magnificent nature of Iriomote Island.
I deducted one star because, despite it being a rare sunny day in winter on Iriomote Island with no strong winds, they switched us from the SUP we had hoped for to kayaking due to weather reasons. I could only think that it was because we were the only participants for the SUP, and they wanted to consolidate us into one tour. This was reinforced when I happened to meet local tour operators at an izakaya that night, who mentioned that it was a nice day and that they could have easily done the SUP.
Additionally, they didn’t take many personal photos, and there were only one or two usable pictures, with one person even having their eyes closed, which was quite disappointing. I hope that next time we can do the SUP.

やりとりがかなりビジネスライクな感じでマニュアルに従って一生懸命されているようでした。
半日カヤックツアーに参加しましたが、ホテル送迎もスムーズでした。穏やかな流れの浦内川でのカヤックで5人参加していました。
沢山のガイドさんがいるようですが、ガイドさんの知識は豊富で植物の名前等よく説明して下さり、西表の自然を堪能できました。
石垣島でもマングローブでのカヤックやsupツアーはやや安くできると思いますが、折角なら自然がより雄大な西表島の方がいいかと思います。
星を一つ減らしたのは、風が全然強くなく、冬の西表島では珍しく晴天の日だったにもかかわらず、天候を理由に希望していたsupではなくカヤックにされてしまった事です。
sup参加者が私達だけで、一つのツアーにまとめて集約したいからなんだろうなとしか思えませんでした。というのも、この日の夜以前supツアーでお世話になった地元のツアー業者の方々に居酒屋で偶々お会いし、今日どこに行ったという話になったのですが、今日はいい天気で全然supできたよと皆さん言われていました。
また、個人写真をあまり撮って下さらず、1人が目を瞑っていたり、使える写真が1、2枚程度で非常に少なかったのでがっかりしました。
是非次回はsupができたらなと思います。

Since I don't have a driver's license, the bus tour was the best option for the northern area. The schedule was appropriate for the sightseeing spots, and it didn't feel too rushed. I felt that the lunch break could have been a bit later. It seemed like there was some trouble along the way, but it would be reassuring to be informed about what happened overall.
