Enjoying Iriomote Island! 西表島を堪能！

The guide was bright and polite, making for a fun tour! The program included a visit to Yufu Island in the morning and a canoe activity in the afternoon. The visit to Yufu Island lasted about an hour, which was enough time to explore the island. We traveled to Yufu Island by water buffalo cart. It was interesting to ride different water buffalo on the way there and back, as their personalities were quite distinct.

I found that canoeing required more strength than I expected, but the guide was there to support us when we got stuck. The explanations about the mangroves were fascinating.

If you participate during the hot season, be sure to bring water and a towel. I also want to try snorkeling next time. Thank you again!

プログラムは午前に由布島観光、午後にカヌーアクティビティーとなっていました。
由布島観光は1時間位でしたが十分島中を探索できました。由布島へは水牛車で行きました。行きと帰りで違う水牛に乗りましたが性格の違いが現れていて面白かったです。
カヌーは思っていたより力が必要だと感じましたが、行き詰まってる時はガイドさんがサポートしていただけます。マングローブの説明は聞いていて面白かったです。
暑い季節の参加は必ず水分とタオルを忘れずに。
次回はシュノーケリングも参加したいと思いました。

In the morning, we had a snorkeling session at Barasu Island, and in the afternoon, we toured Yufu Island. There was a convenient pick-up service to Hoshino Resort Iriomote Island Hotel. During the bus ride, we received various information about Iriomote Island, which made the journey informative and engaging. Throughout the snorkeling tour, the staff frequently checked on our well-being, allowing me, as a beginner, to participate with peace of mind. Although the sea was calm, the boat rocked quite a bit, so I recommend taking motion sickness medication if you're prone to seasickness. After the morning session, we took a shower at the office, changed clothes, and had lunch at a staff-recommended restaurant before heading to the afternoon tour. On Yufu Island, we experienced crossing the sea by water buffalo cart and enjoyed sightseeing around the island, fully immersing ourselves in the tropical atmosphere. Throughout the tour, I felt the hospitality of the staff, making it a very pleasant experience. Thank you very much.

午前はバラス島のシュノーケリング、午後は由布島観光のセットでした。星野リゾート西表島ホテルまで送迎があり、便利でした。バスでの移動中も西表島についての情報をいろいろ教えていただき、移動中も飽きずにとても勉強になりました。シュノーケリングツアー中も体調について、こまめに伺っていただき初心者の私も安心して参加できました。海は穏やかでも、船は結構揺れるので、船酔いしやすい方は酔い止めを飲んでおくことをお勧めします。午前終了後は事務所でシャワーを浴び、着替えをして、スタッフおすすめの店で昼食を済ませ、午後のツアーへ。由布島では水牛車での海を渡る体験、島内の観光を行い、南国気分を十分に味わえました。終始スタッフの方々のホスピタリティを感じることができ、とても気分の良いツアーでした。ありがとうございました。

First time visiting Iriomote Island!!! はじめての西表島観光！！！

During my trip to Ishigaki Island and Iriomote Island, I participated in a tour with Pipi-san!

It was my first time stepping into a mangrove forest, and it felt like an unreal space, almost like a paradise!

The guide who took care of us was very kind and friendly, which made the tour experience安心して楽しむことができました! They talked about the island, the plants, and even the encounter rate of the Iriomote wildcat during the car ride, so the travel time was never boring!

The flow was: meeting at the port → tour site → shower room → dispersing at the port, so I was considering renting a car, but it wasn't necessary. Just bringing a change of clothes from Ishigaki was enough! I highly recommend it for those coming for a day trip!!!

Next, I want to join the tour recommended by the guide, where we can do stand-up paddleboarding while watching the sunset!

石垣島&西表島の旅行の際に、ピピさんのツアーに参加させていただきました！

人生で初めてマングローブ林に足を踏み入れたのですが、非現実的空間で、まるで天国の様な場所でした！

担当して頂いたガイドさんは、とても親切かつフレンドリーな方で、安心してツアー体験することができました！
島の説明や、植物の説明、イリオモテヤマネコの遭遇率なんかも車内で話してくれたので、退屈ない移動時間でした！

港で待ち合わせ→ツアー現場→シャワールーム→港解散
の流れだったので、レンタカー借りようか迷っていましたが、不要でした
石垣から着替えだけ持って来れば問題ないです！
日帰りで来る方にもおすすめします！！！

次は、ガイドさんにオススメされた，夕日を見ながらsupするツアーに参加してみたいと思います！！

Originally, I had booked a one-day plan that included trekking to the waterfall, but I received a notification the day before that the plan would be changed due to the water level of the waterfall. On the day of the tour, there was a heavy rainstorm from early morning, and other participants were also forced to change their plans. The plan was to go to Yufu Island in the morning and then to the mangroves in the afternoon.

However, around midday, the weather cleared up, and in the afternoon, everyone was able to participate in their desired plans, which was impressive to see as everyone looked really happy. Even though the original schedule wouldn't have allowed everyone to do what they wanted, I was truly impressed by the staff who adapted to the afternoon weather.

元々は滝までのトレッキングを含めた1日プランで予約したのですが、前日に滝の水量からプラン変更とのご連絡がありました。そして当日、早朝からスコールのような雷雨が続き、他の参加者の方も同じようにプラン変更を余儀なくされ、午前は皆さんで由布島へ、午後からマングローブという流れになる予定でした。
でも午前の半ばあたりから天気が晴れへと変わり、午後からは皆さん希望通りのプランに参加出来ることとなり、どの方も凄く嬉しそうだったのが印象的でした。元々のスケジュールだと皆さんの希望のやりたい事は達成されなかったのに、午後の天気を読んで順応してくださったスタッフの皆さんに感服です。

During my first visit to Iriomote Island, I was looking for a good tour and stumbled upon this one. The morning mangrove canoeing was blessed with good weather; it was hot, but we were able to paddle leisurely in the spacious area. Our guide, Shotaro, gave us an initial lecture on how to paddle, which made me feel secure as we started. It was my first time seeing mangroves, and he taught us about the different types and characteristics, which was fascinating as we got to approach them closely in the canoe. Paddling through the mangroves was a bit challenging, but it was fun to coordinate with my friends while paddling.

I also wanted to visit Yubu Island, so it was perfect that we could go there as part of the package, and I enjoyed the afternoon sightseeing on Yubu Island. I was very satisfied to be able to take a photo with the water buffalo, Rui-kun.

The mangrove canoeing was very refreshing, and I felt rejuvenated by nature, so I would love to repeat this experience the next time I visit Iriomote Island! I'm glad I participated. Thank you!

午前中のマングローブでのカヌーは天候にも恵まれ、暑かったですが、広々としたところをのんびりと漕ぐことができました。ガイドのしょうたろうさんにより最初に漕ぎ方のレクチャーがあり、安心してスタートすることができました。マングローブを見るのは初めてでしたが、種類や特徴を色々教えてくださり、カヌーで近づいて間近で見ることができたのはとても面白かったです。マングローブの間をカヌーで通っていくのは少々難しかったですが、友達とタイミングを合わせながら漕ぐのは楽しかったです。
由布島も訪れたいと思っていたので、ちょうどセットで行くことができ、午後の由布島内の観光も楽しめました。水牛のるい君と一緒に写真を撮ることができ、大満足です。
マングローブカヌーはとても気持ちよく、自然に癒されたので、次回西表島を訪れる際にはリピートしたいなと思っています！参加して良かったです。ありがとうございました！

In the morning, a shuttle bus from the hotel picked us up, and we spent the morning riding water buffaloes around Yubu Island. We enjoyed a leisurely 15-minute ride in a water buffalo cart while listening to the sounds of the shamisen and singing. After a one-hour lunch break around the port area, we experienced SUP or canoeing in the afternoon. On the calm waters, we were able to enjoy the magnificent mangroves with stable SUP boards, even as beginners. During the transfer, our guide shared various information about Iriomote Island, including the ecosystem and recommended restaurants. Since it was my first time on Iriomote Island, I’m glad I participated in this experience.

In the morning, I participated in a mangrove canoe tour, and in the afternoon, I joined a cart tour on Yufu Island. The canoeing was easier than I expected, and the scenery of the mangroves was very beautiful. Entering the mangrove forest by canoe felt extraordinary and had a mystical atmosphere. Throughout the canoeing, the guide was always smiling and provided various explanations, making it the best experience. They also sent me high-quality photos taken with a GoPro, which was great.

The water buffalo on the cart tour was just adorable. Although the ferry from Uehara Port was canceled, they kindly transported us to Ohara Port after the activity.

*Points of concern:*
For lunch, options for dining near Uehara Port were presented, and we were taken to our chosen place. However, we had to walk back to the meeting point at Uehara Port (if there was an afternoon activity). It was about a 5-minute walk, but it was inconvenient due to the rain. While the details on Veltra mentioned "transport to the lunch area," there was no mention of the return arrangement. I honestly did not expect to walk back, and I hadn't prepared rain gear. It would have been helpful if it had been clearly stated that "the return would be on foot."

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience with a friendly atmosphere. Even considering the point mentioned above, I would rate it a perfect score. Thank you.

午前マングローブカヌー、午後は由布島の牛車ツアーに参加しました。
カヌーは思ったより漕ぎやすく、マングローブの風景はとても美しかったです。カヌーでマングローブ林に入っていくのは、非日常的で、神秘的な雰囲気でした。カヌー中も始終笑顔で色々と説明をしてくれて、最高の体験となりました。GoProで撮った写真も高画質で送ってくれて、良かったです。
牛車はとにかく水牛が可愛かったです。上原港のフェリーが欠航になったのですが、アクティビティ後に代わりの大原港まで送ってくれました。

※気になった点
お昼ご飯は、上原港近くの食事処の選択肢が提示され、希望したところに送ってくれました。ただ、（午後のアクティビティがある場合は）集合場所の上原港に徒歩で移動でした。徒歩5分ほどでしたが、雨天でしたので面倒でした。
確かに、veltraの詳細には"昼食エリアに送る"とは書いてあるもののお迎えについての記載はありませんでした。ただ、流石にこのパターン（帰りは徒歩）は想像しておらず、雨具の用意をしておりませんでした。"帰りは徒歩であること"を明記しておいてもらえると良かったです。

全体として和やかな雰囲気で、たいへん素敵な体験となりました。上記の1点を考慮しても満点です。ありがとうございます。

I participated in the mangrove (kayak) and water buffalo cart experience on Yubu Island. I was a bit anxious since it was my first time kayaking, but just paddling felt great and was the best. In the mangroves, I was able to experience the real thing while listening to various explanations, which was very moving. I also got to take many great photos, making for wonderful memories.

On Yubu Island, I was able to touch the strength, intelligence, and size of the water buffalo, and I learned about how they are cared for and their way of life, which was a fantastic experience. The gelato I had at a shop on the island was incredibly delicious.

Not only was the content great, but they also took time for changing clothes and showering, and the tour was perfectly paced for the participants' time and energy, leaving me very satisfied. Due to bad weather, the activity was changed from snorkeling to mangrove canoeing. The guide was very thorough in their explanations, and even as a beginner in canoeing, I felt safe paddling. The canoe ended up splashing more water than I expected, and I got quite wet! (laughs)

After canoeing, I borrowed a shower, and the shower room was kept very clean.

Also, because of the bad weather, the ferry from Uehara Port was canceled, so I was very grateful for the complimentary transportation to Ohara Port after the Yufu Island tour.

I participated in a mangrove cruise kayak exploration and a water buffalo tour on Yubu Island. I'm grateful that I could join even after making a reservation the day before. Under the blue sky, I leisurely paddled the kayak while enjoying nature—it felt truly wonderful! The staff were refreshing, and their smiles were the best!

Additionally, unexpectedly getting off the kayak for a jungle exploration allowed me to experience the incredible nature that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. The staff's explanations about the plants were also very enjoyable.

Spending time with the water buffalo on Yubu Island felt like time was flowing slowly. I felt that everything about coming here was great! I will definitely participate again. Thank you!

It was my first time doing SUP, and I had a great time. We also did some trekking, and the guide provided detailed explanations about the mangrove plants and creatures. They took photos for us and sent many after we parted ways. I was really satisfied! I quickly got the hang of standing and paddling on the SUP, and I loved doing it while leisurely enjoying the mangroves! Next time, I want to get my own equipment and try it myself!

It can be quite challenging to move around without a car, but they provided continuous transportation, and when we went to Yufu Island by water buffalo, we were blessed with good weather, making it a wonderful experience.

The staff was bright and friendly, leaving a good impression! It was fun to touch the unique creatures and plants of the mangroves and Iriomote Island while kayaking! The staff even showed us how to do a handstand on a SUP! It was amazing!!!! During the visit to Yubu Island, they provided a recommended route in advance, allowing us to explore efficiently! They also shared delicious restaurant recommendations and great sightseeing spots, making it such a wonderful place that I want to visit Iriomote Island again! I participated with my colleagues from work. Due to the cancellation of the Uehara ferry, we gathered at 10 AM, but I was relieved because we received proper advance notice. In the morning, we enjoyed a tour of the ox cart and Yufu Island, which lasted about an hour and a half. Yufu Island is small, so we had plenty of fun! The gelato was especially amazing! In the afternoon, we did stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), but all the other participants were kayaking. We had experience with SUP, so it was no problem for us, but the staff were also very attentive in teaching the kayakers, so I think it would be fine even for beginners. We landed in the mangrove forest to observe wildlife and took photos in front of a waterfall, although it was a bit disappointing that the waterfall was very small. I made a reservation by myself, but I experienced it with three locals. They welcomed us with a very warm atmosphere, and the two hours flew by!

In the beautiful, clear sea, I was lucky enough to see rays, turtles, and schools of fish. The beach was shallow and had little wind, so even as a beginner, I had a great time!

It was my first time snorkeling, but thanks to the guide who kindly and thoroughly taught me how to use the fins and the precautions for wearing the goggles, I was able to swim with confidence! The guide was a local who knew a lot about the island and quickly shared the names of the corals and fish that caught my attention. I only needed to bring a towel and drinks, as everything else was available for rent, which made it easy to participate. Additionally, the transportation to and from the hotel was a great bonus. I was finally able to visit Barasu Island, and I got to take many photos, creating wonderful memories. The Yaeyama soba at the cafe of the Iriomote Island Nature School was also exquisite! シュノーケリングは初めてでしたが、フィンの使い方やゴーグルの装着時の注意点などガイドさんが優しく丁寧に教えて頂いたおかげで安心して泳げました！
ガイドさんは島のことをよく知る現地の方で、気になった珊瑚や魚の名前などすぐに教えてくださいました。
持ち物もタオルや飲み物のみで、他はレンタルができたので身軽に参加できて、さらにホテルまでの送迎もあったのがよかったです。
念願のバラス島に行けて、写真も沢山撮っていただけていい思い出ができました。
また西表島自然学校のカフェの八重山そばが絶品でした！親切にしていただきありがとうございました。

I experienced a one-day course that included a mangrove canoe experience, Pinai Sara Falls, and diving. First of all, the location is very convenient, just a 1-2 minute walk from the port! The guide was very knowledgeable and explained the flora and fauna in the mangroves in a clear and detailed manner. It was really interesting and fun! ^^ For lunch, I enjoyed Yaeyama soba, which had a warm and gentle flavor and was delicious! The diving instructions in the afternoon were also thorough, and they tailored it to accommodate us beginners, so we felt safe participating. When we had trouble in the water, they helped us right away! Meeting the staff was a wonderful experience, and it became a great memory! I would love to come back here again someday. 午後のダイビングの説明も丁寧で、初心者の私達に合わせてくださったので安心して参加できました。水の中で困った時もすぐ助けてくださりました！
スタッフの方々ととても素敵な出会いになり、大変いい思い出になりました！またいつか、ぜひまたこちらでお世話になりたいです^^

It was my first time canoeing, but the instructions on how to paddle were clear, and they provided solid support when I actually got on the canoe, so everything went smoothly. I went mangrove canoeing and sightseeing at Yubu Island. With thorough preparation, we were able to efficiently experience and tour from the morning until around 4:00 PM. We were blessed with good weather, and the guides were kind and dedicated in their assistance, making it a very memorable experience.

I enjoyed kayaking up the river lined with mangroves, trekking to the waterfall, and immersing myself in nature. The guide was also fantastic, making this tour highly recommended.
