I took a bike tour around Taketomi Island at the end, but since the village is all laid out the same way, I got lost and couldn't find the meeting point. This was my third time visiting Ishigaki Island, and it was my husband's first time, so we decided to book this tour. Since our hotel was a bit far from the terminal this time, we opted for a plan that included transportation to the hotel and a rental bicycle on Taketomi Island.

Even though it was my third time, crossing from Iriomote Island to Yubu Island by water buffalo cart and leisurely exploring Taketomi Island by water buffalo cart was still a uniquely enjoyable Okinawan experience. We were able to spend relaxed time with the uniquely individual water buffaloes and savor a break from the everyday. Everything went smoothly, and it was great that we could choose our departure time for the boat from Taketomi Island.

On Yubu Island and Taketomi Island, there were opportunities for photo shoots, and those who wanted could purchase the photos, but if you didn't want them, you could simply pass by, which I think is a good system. Since there were just the two of us participating, we decided to purchase all the photos (with data), and it became a wonderful keepsake.

I saw such a beautiful starry sky for the first time, and I was truly moved. We also got to see many coconut crabs and other creatures, which had my son very excited! While it's not guaranteed that you'll encounter coconut crabs, the guides worked hard to find them, and we were lucky to meet a few. 😂

During the approximately 30-minute bus ride, we talked a lot and laughed a lot. It was about a 2-hour tour, but it was so much fun that I still find myself laughing when I think back on it! I hope I can come again. 🙌

We experienced this with our 5-year-old and 8-year-old. I was worried about seasickness on the high-speed boat, but they guided us to sit at the front where it was less bumpy, which made me feel at ease. The weather was great, and the mangroves at high tide were incredibly beautiful. I heard that you can see a lot of marine life at low tide, so I would like to visit again during that time.

Since it was our first free plan on Taketomi Island, I was concerned about getting around by bus and on foot, but we were able to visit Kaiji Beach, Kondoi Beach, Nishizaki Pier, and the Island we wanted to see. Our free plan started after 2 PM, and we had to return from Taketomi Port to Ishigaki Port by 5 PM, so our stay was short, and I wished we could have explored a bit more leisurely.

The meals were sufficient for our 5-year-old when shared. The water buffalo carts moved at different speeds, so we were guided to different carts for the ride to and from, which the kids really enjoyed, and it was great to take photos together.

食事は5歳児には取り分けで十分でした。水牛車は水牛車によって速度が違う為、行きと帰りと別の水牛車を案内してくれて、子供もとても楽しんでいて、写真も一緒に撮れて良かったです。

I can't navigate this efficiently on my own. The ferry from Ishigaki to the remote islands was clean and had restrooms. The crew worked efficiently and were friendly, and the bus driver on the Iriomote cruise was an excellent guide! We even saw a crowned eagle. Yubu Island was lovely with the sound of the sanshin and the cuteness of the water buffalo. The rental bicycles on Taketomi Island were also pleasant and allowed for an efficient tour! I'm very satisfied.

Additionally, since each ox has a different personality, there were explanations about that, making it a fun time. After that, we returned by ox cart, moved by bus, and took a boat to see the mangroves. The explanations were thorough, and I learned what kind of plants mangroves are. If you sit in the front, you might get splashed with water, so it might be a good idea to think about where to sit. It was a very good tour! 👍

I participated in the Sunrise Canoeing and Blue Cave Snorkeling. I was a bit anxious since I was going alone, but I had a great time chatting with the local staff and other tour participants! I rode solo on a two-person canoe, but it was easy to operate and I was able to paddle steadily. For snorkeling, even if you can't swim, the staff will pull you along with a float, so I was able to finish without any injuries.

The view of Kabira Bay was even more stunning than in the photos, and our guide skillfully shared the history of Ishigaki Island and famous landmarks while singing joyfully. Their beautiful singing almost brought me to tears. The driver was also very reassuring and provided excellent service. The lunch was delicious and healthy as well. I would love to visit again next time. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

I was impressed by the mangroves surrounded by nature on Iriomote Island. After riding a water buffalo and enjoying a delicious lunch on Yubu Island, I rode a water buffalo again and rented a bicycle on Taketomi Island. The guide who accompanied us while we were on the water buffalo was interesting to talk to and was skilled at playing the sanshin. The connections between destinations were a bit challenging to navigate on my own. It was a fulfilling day that went by in a flash. You might need a bit of physical stamina as well.

At the end of March 2023, I participated with my son and nephew. I was thrilled to see two long-awaited coconut crabs, which was one of the children's goals for this trip! We also spotted small scorpions, hermit crabs, and gobies.

The starry sky was cloudy when we were by the sea, but my nephew said it looked beautiful from the car window on the way back ^^ (I couldn't see much from my seat).

Our guide, Akari, was cheerful and fun to talk to. She provided detailed information about the creatures and plants, and also shared recommendations for restaurants while we were in the car, which made the experience very enjoyable. 普段の生活では、目や耳に勝手に入ってくる情報が多すぎて疲れ、それに麻痺していますよね。こんな風に大自然の中で目と耳を澄まして生き物を探したり、風を感じたり、いろいろな物に触ってみたり、という体験で、五感をリセットできて、研ぎ澄まされる感覚を味わえました！今でもその時の感覚がすごく心に残っています。

Went to the mangrove for canoeing in the morning, Akira is sweet and patient to demonstrate and guide throughout the trip. The mangrove itself is calm, I’m sure it’ll be more scenic when the weather is good.

Dropped off at ~11:30 for lunch (taco rice is great, thanks Akira!) then returned back to the pier for snorkeling in the blue cave. The undersea view is absolutely stunning and is so different to see from the water level. Sebastian is helpful and friendly to guide throughout the trip, thanks! A little suggestion is that it’s too short; perhaps some free exploration time would be better.

Overall, a great trip and quick response from the team. I booked the trip less than 24 hours before it started and still managed to get confirmation messages. It’s nothing easy, thanks for the quick response!

I have fond memories of experiencing the water buffalo cart when I was a child, so this time I participated with my family. The tour itself was satisfactory with polite service from the ferry terminal, but the water buffalo cart, which I was looking forward to, was disappointing. Perhaps because our group was the largest (7 people), we were assigned to go last, even though we weren't the last to arrive. Additionally, since half of us, including my husband, were British, the guide hardly paid us any attention, and being at the back meant we could barely hear anything, which was quite disappointing.
