Unfortunately, due to the weather, the stargazing experience ended up being disappointing, but I was able to encounter many rare creatures that do not inhabit Honshu. Since it was winter, I was worried that there would be fewer animals, but that was not the case. I was able to see the Ryukyu Scops Owl, coconut crabs, hermit crabs, and even scorpions.

Due to a full flight, we arrived in Ishigaki at 5:30 PM. I wanted to include activities on the day we arrived, so I signed up for a stargazing and night safari tour. My impression is simply that it was a great decision! The weather was nice, the stars were truly beautiful, and we could even see the Milky Way. During the night safari, we encountered natural animals like the "Japanese scops owl, habu snake, hermit crab, bat, and firefly," which was surprisingly amazing. My daughter, who had been saying she was tired and sleepy during the stargazing, suddenly became super excited when she met the hermit crab and habu snake during the night safari. The guide mentioned that they hadn't seen a habu in over three months, and we all felt lucky to be part of the tour. Since these are natural encounters, we can't guarantee seeing them every time, but with a friendly guide and the chance to meet Ishigaki's wildlife, we were able to start our trip with wonderful memories. お天気もよく、星空も本当に美しく天の川もみることができましたし、ナイトサファリでは「コノハミミズク/ハブ/ヤドカリ/コウモリ/ホタルなど」天然の動物とビックリするぐらい遭遇しました。星空観光では、疲れた。眠いを連発していた娘も、ナイトサファリでヤドカリやハブなどと出会って、いきなりテンションマックス。ハブは、最近では3か月以上遭遇できていないというガイドさんの話で、ラッキーとツアー参加者一同で感じていました。
天然のものですので、毎回あえるかは分かりませんが、感じの良いガイドさんと、石垣の生き物との出会いで、旅行初日を素敵な思い出作りからスタートをきれました。ありがとうございます。

The bus driver and everyone involved clearly wanted the participants to appreciate the charm of the Yaeyama Islands, and I was completely captivated by the allure of Ishigaki Island and the surrounding Yaeyama Islands!
One point to note: I chose the rental bicycle option for Taketomi Island, but there are many unpaved areas on the roads. If you're not comfortable with cycling, you might want to consider the glass-bottom boat or other options.
石垣島ドリーム観光さんは、団体も含めてツアーの開催が多き手がけておられるようで、複数の異なるオプションの参加者を効率的に振り分け誘導されており、退屈することもなく、楽しむ事ができました。

The stargazing tour was amazing! The staff entertained us with many fun stories! We were lucky to see not only the beautiful starry sky but also shooting stars. We also spotted a Japanese scops owl three times. They even caught some very rare fireflies and their larvae, as well as a large coconut crab and a palm crab, which left us guests very impressed! We also saw a big bat! Additionally, we were really lucky to see many cute hermit crabs! I highly recommend that everyone give it a try!

It was my first time visiting an outlying island. Although it was a quick visit, I was satisfied with my experience on the island. I think it was a great opportunity to scout for a future trip where I can take my time on a favorite island. However, I was quite anxious during the bus ride because one of the children in the same tour group kept coughing. I felt anger towards the parents traveling with a child who was coughing so much at this time of year. Honestly, I signed up for this tour looking forward to the starry sky, but on the day of the tour, it was cloudy and I was disappointed that I could hardly see any stars. However, during the drive, the jungle tour, and the mountain roads to see the night view, the tour guide shared many interesting stories, making it such a fun tour that I almost forgot about not being able to see the stars! Thank you very much!

For a beginner like me in Ishigaki Island, not only did I receive basic information, but the guide's explanations allowed me to touch upon the culture and history, making it a very enjoyable trip!
Indeed, it was a bit rushed, but I felt sufficiently satisfied. (This tour made me want to learn more about Ishigaki.)
The person who took care of us was a foreign-looking woman with a darker complexion, reminiscent of a younger Rosanna. She was very kind to me, even though I was a solo participant suffering from a hangover from drinking too much awamori the night before, which made me very happy!

Although my parents got a bit seasick on the glass-bottom boat, the kids were sparkling with excitement the whole time. Shima-kun, the water buffalo, was wonderfully lazy! We were also healed by the songs of the young man playing the sanshin. I'm grateful for the precious experience on Taketomi Island.

First, we went on a mangrove cruise in Iriomote Island. It was very pleasant to leisurely explore on a sightseeing boat while listening to the guide's explanations. After that, we crossed to Yubu Island by water buffalo cart. The flowers along the road to Manta Beach were very beautiful. The tropical flowers like hibiscus and bougainvillea, along with the butterflies, were impressive. The sea beyond was also breathtaking.
Finally, we visited Taketomi Island. We chose a glass-bottom boat and bus tour. The guide was very kind and taught us how to find star sand at Kaiji Beach, and we toured the village on the island, receiving various explanations in a short amount of time. Although we didn't ride the water buffalo cart, we were able to walk nearby and take photos, which was great. Since the time to see the village was short, I would like to take a leisurely stroll next time. It was a charming and very lovely island. I was extremely satisfied to see so many different landscapes in just one day!
最初に西表島でのマングローブクルーズ。ガイドさんの説明を聞きながらのんびり遊覧船での散策は気持ちが良かったです。そのあと由布島へ水牛車で渡ります。マンタの浜までの道沿いのお花がとても綺麗でした。ハイビスカスやブーゲンビリアなど南国らしいお花、蝶々に感動。その先の海にまた感動でした。
最後に竹富島です。我々はグラスボートとバス観光を選択しました。
ガイドさんがとても良い方で、カイジ浜で星砂の見つけ方を教えて頂いたり、島内の集落を回り、短い時間の中いろいろ説明して頂きました。
水牛車には乗りませんでしたが、歩きながら近くで見て写真も撮る事が出来たので良かったです。
集落を見る時間が短かったので、次はゆっくり散策したいです。風情がありとても素敵な島でした。
１日でこれだけ色んな景色が見れて、大満足です！

At the beginning of the tour, I was disappointed because the stars were hidden by clouds and hard to see, but the staff shared stories about the stars and found creatures like coconut crabs, stick insects, and fireflies like hunters. I was excited to see so many creatures for the first time. Since we couldn't see many stars, they took us to a beautiful spot where we could enjoy the night view of Ishigaki Island instead. The staff's service and lively personality added to the experience, making it a very enjoyable and fulfilling tour!
ツアーが始まった当初は、星が雲に隠れてあまり見れずガッカリでしたが、スタッフさんが星にまつわる話しをしてくれたり、ハンターの様にヤシガニやナナフシ、ホタル等見つけてれました。
初めて見る生き物だらけでテンション上がりました。
