I participated in a paid glass-bottom boat tour at Kabira Bay, and it seems that there is a nearby Ōmotō Sake Brewery, which would also be enjoyable to visit. Depending on the weather, the clarity of the water's surface may change, so it might be a good idea to skip the glass-bottom boat and visit the black pearl store or the Ōmotō Sake Brewery instead. Given the season, the weather wasn't great, and I honestly felt that the clarity wasn't very high. However, I was satisfied because I was lucky enough to see a sea turtle.

On the way back, I didn't get off at the airport since I was on the evening Peach flight, but I had no explanation about the mangrove forest at Miyara River, so I had no idea where it was. Mangroves themselves are not particularly rare in Yaeyama, so there might not be much to explain. I might not use this service again, but if it's your first time in Ishigaki Island, I think it's a tour you can't go wrong with.

東バス唯一の男性ガイドさんということでしたが、三線もお上手でいろいろ歌を聴かせていただきとても楽しめました。
川平湾でわたしは有料のグラスボートに参加したのですが、近くに於茂登酒造があるようでそこを見学しても楽しめたようです。天気によっては水面の透明度など変わってくると思うので、天気の状況によってグラスボートに参加せず黒真珠の店舗をみたり於茂登酒造を見学してもいいのかもしれません。時節柄もあって天候がよくなく透明度は正直それほど高くなかったように感じました。ウミガメは運よく？みられたので満足はしましたが。
帰りは夕方のピーチ便利用だったので空港では下車しませんでしたが、宮良川のヒルギ林については説明もなくどこだかまったくわかりませんでした。マングローブ自体は八重山では珍しいものでもないので特に説明することもないのかもしれませんが…
二度は利用しないかもしれないけど、石垣島が初めてであれば利用してみて間違いのないツアーだと思います。

It was my first trip to a remote island with my wife and her mother. On the first day, we enjoyed the attractions on the island, making it a wonderful trip. This was also our first bus tour with this group, and even during the COVID-19 pandemic, safety measures were in place on the bus, allowing us to enjoy our journey with peace of mind. Our guide, despite being young, was great at capturing the hearts of the tourists, making the bus ride enjoyable. The view of the seabed from the glass-bottom boat at Kabira Bay was amazing. Since the weather forecast predicted rain, I changed my plans from an island-hopping tour to a bus tour around Ishigaki Island at the last minute. The forecast turned out to be accurate, and it rained with strong winds, so it wasn't the best location, but I was prepared for that, so it couldn't be helped. Overall, it was good, but the departure of the boat from Iriomote Island to Taketomi Island was delayed by about 15 minutes because one of the participants missed the bus, which was disappointing as there was hardly any time for sightseeing on Iriomote Island. Such things can happen, so I recommend choosing a plan that allows for a departure on the 5:00 PM boat from Iriomote Island. Personally, I think it would be nice to go to Hoshi no Suna Beach by bus tour or by bicycle, so a combination of an ox cart and bike rental seems like a good option.

総じて良かったですが、西表島から竹富島への船の出発が、参加者の中でバスに乗り遅れた方がいらっしゃったため15分ほど遅れ、西表島のバス観光がほとんど時間が取れなかったのが残念でした。こういう事は起こり得るので、西表島の出発は17:00の船を選択できるプランをお勧めします。個人的にはバスツアーで行く星の砂のビーチも自転車で行くこともできるので、牛車＋レンタサイクルが良さそうです。

One point to note: I chose the rental bicycle option for Taketomi Island, but there are many unpaved areas on the roads. If you're not comfortable with cycling, you might want to consider the glass-bottom boat or other options.

The stargazing tour was amazing! The staff entertained us with many fun stories! We were lucky to see not only the beautiful starry sky but also shooting stars. We also spotted a Japanese scops owl three times. They even caught some very rare fireflies and their larvae, as well as a large coconut crab and a palm crab, which left us guests very impressed! We also saw a big bat! Additionally, we were really lucky to see many cute hermit crabs! I highly recommend that everyone give it a try!

It was my first time visiting an outlying island. Although it was a quick visit, I was satisfied with my experience on the island. I think it was a great opportunity to scout for a future trip where I can take my time on a favorite island. However, I was quite anxious during the bus ride because one of the children in the same tour group kept coughing. I felt anger towards the parents traveling with a child who was coughing so much at this time of year. While it might not bother them if it were their own child, for others, it is nothing but a source of fear.
