It seems that almost all the constellations in the world can be seen from Ishigaki Island. I arrived in Ishigaki Island for the first time in the evening and immediately joined a tour.

I heard that the weather can change quickly, and we encountered rain on the way to the location, but it stopped by the time we arrived.

Thanks to the lush jungle plants and the large coral rock formations overhead, even if it had rained, we wouldn't have gotten too wet. We progressed through the jungle while listening to the guide's explanations.

Along the way, we encountered a coconut crab that I had wanted to see!! They are said to be shy, so everyone in the tour quietly watched, and the guide even took photos for us. It was really fun to see not only the coconut crab but also large crabs, snakes, fireflies, and camel crickets—creatures that you don't usually see in the city.

The guide's stories and explanations about the jungle were easy to understand and enjoyable, and I truly had a memorable time participating in the tour.

初めての石垣島で、夕方到着しすぐにツアーに参加しました。

天気が変わりやすいそうで、現地に向かう道中雨に降られましたが着いたら止んでいました。

うっそうと茂るジャングルの植物や、上に大きく張り出したサンゴでできた岩のおかげで仮に雨に降られたとしてもそう濡れることはないそうです。
ガイドさんの説明を聞きながらジャングルの中を進んでいきます。
途中、見たいと思っていたヤシガニに遭遇!! 臆病だそうで、ツアーに参加したみんな静かに見守りガイドさんに写真まで撮って頂きました。ヤシガニの他にも大きなカニやヘビやホタルやカマドウマなど、普段都会では見られない生物を身近に見れてとっても楽しかったです。
ガイドさんの話やジャングルの説明も分かりやすく楽しく、参加して思い出に残る時間が過ごせほんとに良かったです。

I originally had a reservation for stargazing, but due to the poor weather on the day, I was able to change it to a sunset canoe tour at the last minute!

Although we couldn't go out to sea because of strong winds, we were able to canoe along the Miyara River while viewing the mangroves!

An instructor accompanied us and taught us the basic operations, so I was able to start the experience without any anxiety.

Along the way, we learned about the mangroves and Ishigaki Island. We occasionally got stuck on rocky areas, but the instructor was always there to help, so even as a beginner, I was able to progress smoothly. At one point, we were able to go into the mangroves and feel nature up close!

Since your pants will definitely get wet, wearing a swimsuit is recommended. Paddling the canoe yourself is very rewarding and makes for a fun tour!

もともと星空鑑賞の予約をしていたのですが、当日の天候があまり良くなかったため、サンセットカヌーに急遽でしたが変更していただきました！

強風で海の方には行けなかったのですが、宮良川でマングローブを見ながらカヌーできました！

インストラクターの方に同伴していただき、基本的な操作を教えてもらって体験が始まったので、不安なくできます‍( ´ ▽ ` )

道中ではマングローブのことや石垣島について教えていただきながら進みました。ところどころ岩場に座礁したりしましたが笑、インストラクターの方が随時助けてくださったので初心者でもスムーズに進めました。途中でマングローブの中に入っていくことができ自然を身近に感じました！

ズボンは確実に濡れてしまうので、水着着用がオススメてす。自分自身でカヌーを漕いで進むのでとても達成感があって楽しいツアーです！

It started to drizzle on the way, but since we were in the jungle, it didn't bother us much during the tour. We had borrowed rubber boots, so we were able to enjoy ourselves without getting our clothes dirty!

Of course, we got to see the coconut crabs, but we also spotted firefly larvae, crabs, and sea snakes. I was just expecting to see them, so I was really happy to be able to take pictures with the coconut crabs and others! It was a very valuable time, filled with places we couldn't go to and stories we couldn't hear without the tour!

行く途中小雨が降り始めましたが、ジャングルになっていたのでツアー中ほとんど気になりません。貸してもらった長靴もあり、服も汚れることなく楽しめました！

ヤシガニはもちろん見れましたが、それ以外にも蛍の幼虫やカニやウミヘビも見ることができました。
見るだけかなと思っていたので、ヤシガニなどと一緒に写真を撮って貰えたのが嬉しかったです！

Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting stories about the Yaeyama Islands, answering all our questions patiently. We walked through the dark mountains searching for various insects and plants. After walking for a while, we reached a sandy beach where we could gaze at a sky full of stars. Both the adults and our older son enjoyed it and became even more interested in the nature of Ishigaki Island. This is a tour we would love to join again on our next visit.

The starry sky was disappointing, but during the night tour, we went to a special place wearing the borrowed boots. It was a day when the weather changed frequently, but I hoped for better weather and made a reservation on the day itself. We drove for about 30 minutes into the pitch-black mountains, with no lights at all. Armed with the borrowed boots and flashlight, we ventured into the forest. I was excited and nervous as I searched for animals and insects, but I couldn't find much that day. The guide found a coconut crab for us. There were also birds (name unknown) and geckos. It was a valuable experience to hear the sounds of the waves and see naturally formed caves. The weather is something we can't control, so we were able to see the starry sky peeking through the clouds, and at times, it was hidden by them. I hope to find more next time and see more stars! The guide shared various interesting knowledge along the way, which made it very enjoyable. I had a great time and would love to go again. Thank you very much.

天候がコロコロ変わる日でしたがお天気が良くなる望みを掛け当日に申込みました。30分位で明かりも何もない本当に漆黒の山の中へ車で移動。貸して頂いた長靴と懐中電灯を持って森の中へ入って行きます。ワクワクドキドキしながら動物や虫を探しましたが、この日はなかなか見つけることが出来ません。ヤシガニをガイドさんが探してきてくれました。鳥（名前不明）ヤモリもいました。自然に出来た洞窟や波の音を聞けたりと貴重な体験がいっぱい。天気は人の力ではどうしようもありませんので、雲の合間から星空が見れたり、雲に隠れたり。次はもっと見つかれば＆★見れるといいなー。ガイドさんのお話も道中からいろいろな知識を楽しく教えて頂きました。大変楽しかったです。また行きたいです。ありがとうございました。

Unfortunately, the day we participated was rainy, so we couldn't expect to see the starry sky...
However, we were able to focus on exploring the jungle instead.

It was a surprisingly warm day for this season, so we were lucky to see about four coconut crabs!
We also spotted cute crabs and butterfly pupae, and to our surprise, we even saw glowing firefly larvae.
It was astonishing to see them glowing in the dark... I didn't know larvae could glow.
We were very grateful to our young female guide who worked hard to find the animals for us. Thank you!
Searching for animals together while shining our lights around was exciting and fun.

Experiencing a pitch-black forest with just one light to guide us is something that would be scary or dangerous without a reliable guide, so it became a very good experience.

私たちが参加した日はあいにくの雨で星空は期待できず…
でもその分ジャングル探索を集中して行ってくださいました。

この季節にしては暖かい日だったので
ヤシガニを４匹ほど見ることができてラッキー！
ほかにも可愛いカニや蝶のさなぎ、
驚いたことに蛍の幼虫も見ることができました。
暗闇の中で光ってる姿を見つけた時は驚きました…幼虫も光るんですね。
若い女性のガイドさんが一生懸命動物を探してくださってとてもありがたかったです。ありがとうございました！
みんなであちこちにライトを照らしながら動物を探すのも
冒険心をくすぐられて楽しかったです。

灯ひとつない真っ暗な森をライトひとつで進むなんて体験、
こういうしっかりしたガイドさんがいるツアーでないと
怖かったり危険だったりでできないのでとても良い経験になりました。

We gathered in front of the red post at the remote island terminal at 7:30 PM and drove for about 30 minutes on a mountain road. After arriving, we changed into rubber boots and walked along a narrow mountain path that was just wide enough for one person, listening to the guide's explanations. After about 15 minutes of walking, we reached the beach for stargazing. During my visit, the moon was full and too bright, so I couldn't see many stars. We visited about four caves in search of coconut crabs, but unfortunately, we didn't find any. I really wanted to see them! After that, we returned by car along the same route and dispersed. During my visit, the guide was a young man who talked to us continuously while driving. He kept the conversation going without interruption. I really wanted to see the coconut crabs!

19時30分に離島ターミナルの赤いポスト前に集合、車に乗って30分くらい山道走りました。
到着後長靴にはきかえてひとり通れるくらいの細い山道をガイドと一緒に説明聞きながら歩きます。15分くらい歩くと浜辺に出で星空鑑賞。私の時は月が満月で明るすぎて星があまり見えませんでした。ヤシガニ探しに洞窟4箇所ほど回りましたが残念なことにいなくて見れませんでした。見たかった！その後来た道を車で戻り解散です。私の時はガイドさん若いお兄さんで車の運転中ずーっと色々な話をしてくれました。途切れることなく話をしてくれました。本当にヤシガニは見たかった！

This is my second time participating. Despite the title claiming stargazing, it has been mostly cloudy or rainy during this season... If that's the case, please remove it from the title. On January 1st, we participated in a stargazing and night safari tour. A couple in their 40s, along with our 4 and 7-year-old boys, and a grandmother in her 60s joined the tour. The journey from the meeting point to the location took about 30 minutes, and it flew by thanks to our guide's entertaining stories. Although it was drizzling and we couldn't see the stars, we encountered various creatures like hermit crabs, coconut crabs, and snakes. Both the kids and adults were very satisfied. We would like to join again during a warmer season. Thank you very much.

As we made our way through the dark jungle, relying on the light of our flashlights, we discovered frogs, lizards, crabs, and even coconut crabs on the beach... and we spotted a rare wild boar on the road!

Everyone in the tour worked together, and we were able to see many creatures from the Yaeyama Islands.

Our knowledgeable guide shared a lot of information, so even though it was cloudy and we couldn't see the stars, we had a great time.

I highly recommend this for adventure and nature lovers!

I found a night tour around 4 PM when I didn't want to waste the evening after another tour ended! The tour itself was short, but it wasn't a very well-organized tour, so I hurriedly made a reservation on the same day.

The young and energetic guide was very enthusiastic and made everyone laugh, which was a lot of fun. We were able to find some snakes and crabs that are usually hard to see, which was really exciting!

Unfortunately, I couldn't see the stars on the day I went, but instead, I was able to see fireflies!! Super lucky!

I recommend this for those who want to make good use of their evening time or for families with children!
