I was able to kayak while enjoying the view of the mangroves! My feet got wet when getting in, so it was cold in winter, but I warmed up while paddling. I felt the negative ions, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience! I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to connect with nature.
In addition to the mangroves, I was also able to see Ficus macrophylla and seasonal flowers, which made me very satisfied. It was my first time kayaking, but under the careful guidance of the instructor, I was able to enjoy it safely, adding a great memory to my trip.

インストラクターさんが何か見つかる度に丁寧な声かけをしてくださりたくさんの新しい発見にも出会うことができました。

I was a bit anxious since it had been a while since I last went kayaking, but I felt reassured because they taught me how to paddle carefully! Additionally, the instructor provided detailed information about the mangrove plants and creatures, which allowed me to deepen my understanding while enjoying the experience.
I was especially happy to see many crabs (fiddler crabs) and gobies! Since it’s an area where seawater and freshwater mix, I tasted the river water and found it a bit salty (do it at your own risk 💦).
It doesn’t feel like a jungle, but you can spend a peaceful time feeling a bit of nature right in the city.

海水と淡水が混じる水域ということで、川の水を舐めてみたらちょっとしょっぱかったです（舐めるなら自己責任で💦）
ジャングル！という感じではないですが、街中にある小さな自然を感じながら穏やかな時間を過ごせます。

Before the canoe experience, I was suggested to wear rain pants, which was great because it kept my backside dry during the activity.
Also, during the canoe experience on the Higa River, I was worried about the river's current, but while paddling upstream, we stopped at key points for explanations about the mangroves and the scenery. There were also breaks to avoid fatigue from paddling, and the explanations were very well done, making it a fantastic experience.
カヌー体験の前にレインズボンを提案され、お尻が濡らさずに体験出来良かった。
また、比嘉川でのカヌー体験で、川の流れが心配だったが、上流へのカヌー進行では、マングローブや景色説明で要所要所で止まっての説明があり、カヌーを漕ぎ疲れを回避する休息もあり、説明も上手くて大変良かった。

It was my first time in Okinawa, and I went kayaking! I had always wanted to see mangroves up close, so I was planning to make a reservation, but it turned out to be a sunset tour! I love nature and sunsets, and just thinking about it was amazing, so I booked it right away!

Unfortunately, we couldn't see the sunset due to the weather, but we had a wonderful experience paddling through the mangroves and getting close to the sea. Our guide, Mr. Wataya, was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information not only about nature but also about drinks and food, making it a very enjoyable time. Since we couldn't see the sunset this time, I hope to have a chance to come back on a nice day for a redo!

I was curious if there was a place to do SUP or kayaking in such a town, but once I got here, I found myself paddling along a wide river surrounded by Okinawan plants.
As a traveler, I wanted to find a place where I could experience this without any gear, but since most places offer similar services, I recommend checking their websites thoroughly. There were changing rooms available, and the parking lot can accommodate five cars.
One thing to note is that your bottom will definitely get wet while kayaking. Experiencing this in January can be quite cold, and there's a possibility of rain. If you can prepare, you might need rain gear for both your top and bottom. However, when I mentioned to the staff that I didn't have any rain gear and didn't want to get wet during my trip, they kindly lent me rain pants for free. They also provided shoes. However, a towel is essential, as you'll need it to dry your feet afterward. I brought a towel that I didn't mind throwing away during my travels.
We paddled back and forth on a river about 300 meters long. Along the way, we listened to explanations from the staff. The distance was short, but we enjoyed a leisurely paddle on the kayak. This time in January was relatively cold, but in the summer, there are no trees to provide shade, so it will definitely be hot. You'll need to consider what time of year to experience this and which plan to choose.
