Cherry blossom viewing from the river at the Mint Bureau!
On the last day of the cherry blossom cruise, the rain that had been falling until the day before cleared up, and we participated with friends in a lively atmosphere while enjoying drinks on the cruise! It was fantastic!
When I made the reservation, it was fully booked, and I almost gave up, but I was able to squeeze in thanks to a cancellation, so I'm grateful to VELTRA.
I definitely want to come back next year!

The day before, I went to Universal Studios Japan and stayed overnight at Universal Port Hotel, then participated the next morning. It was very convenient as the boarding area was right behind Universal Port.

We participated as a group of four and since there were empty seats, they kindly changed our original assigned seats to more spacious ones. The drink orders were also handled smoothly by the attentive staff.

The storyteller was indeed a professional, and their storytelling was enjoyable. It wasn't just a one-sided tour guide experience; they engaged with the passengers by asking questions and creating a lively atmosphere together.

The arrival point is in Osaka's bustling downtown, which I think is convenient for sightseeing afterward.

前日にUSJへ行ってユニバーサルポートホテルに1泊して翌朝参加しました。
ユニバーサルポートのすぐ裏が乗り場だったので大変便利でした。
4人で参加し空席があったのでもともとの指定の席からゆったりした席に変更してくださったり、飲み物のオーダーもスムーズで気の利くスタッフの方でした。

落語家の方はやはりプロで、話が上手で楽しかったです。
一方的な観光案内ではなく、
乗客の方に質問されたりみんなで一緒に盛り上げる感じで受け答えもさすがでした。

到着は大阪の繁華街でその後に観光するのにも便利だと思います。

I boarded a cruise that departed at 4 PM on December 24, 2016. Boarding started 10 minutes prior, and seating was free. The layout had three rows on the left side and two on the right, and it was relatively empty, allowing for a comfortable seat. The boat had a roof and heating, making it a pleasant cruise without feeling too cold. From December 1 to March 17, due to river construction, we took a special route that went from Dotonbori River to Higashiyokobori River, then to Tosabori River, and finally to Okawa, returning to Minatomachi River Place. As soon as we set sail, they came to take drink orders. Since it was cold, I warmed up with a hot whiskey, which made me feel quite good. The entertainer was the rakugo performer Kintaro Katsura, and during the 105-minute cruise, he shared the origins and history of the bridges over the rivers in "Osaka, the City of Water," with perfect timing between stories that kept us laughing the whole time. I have taken various cruises, including those on the Sumida River in Tokyo, but this was my first experience with a rakugo performer entertaining us with the scenery and history of the city. When we reached Tenmabashi, we were treated to a special view of Osaka Castle bathed in orange from the sunset. The view of Osaka Castle from the riverside had a different charm and was wonderful. After 5 PM, as night fell, we returned to the twilight of Dotonbori, and I felt an indescribable emotion at the beautiful riverside scenery of Minami, illuminated by neon lights. Although I am from Osaka, I fell in love with the city again from the perspective of the river. Lastly, thank you for this tour.

２０１６年１２月２４日１６時発のクルーズに乗船しました。１０分前から乗船ができて自由席でした。左側３列と右側２列のシートレイアウトで比較的に空いていてゆったりと座れました。船は屋根付きで暖房もあって、寒さをさほど感じないよいクルーズです。１２月１日から３月１７日までは河川工事のため木津川周りの周回ではなくて、道頓堀川から東横堀川⇒土佐堀川⇒大川まで行って湊町リバープレイスに戻る特別コースということでした。出航と同時にドリンクの注文に来てくれました。寒いのでホットウイスキーで早速体を温めることができてかなりいい気分になれました。アテンドしていただいた落語家は桂きん太郎さんで、１０５分のクルーズの間は水の都「大阪」の川にかかる橋の由来や歴史など、話しと話しの間合いが絶妙なタイミングでずうっと笑いっぱなしのクルーズでした。今まで東京・隅田川のクルーズなどいろいろなクルーズに乗ったことがありましたが、落語家さんが風景と街の歴史もあせわて楽しませてくれるクルーズは初体験でした。天満橋まで来ると夕日が当たるオレンジ色の大阪城を特別に見せていただきました。水辺から見える大阪城はまた違った趣があり良かったです。１７時を過ぎると日も暮れて黄昏の道頓堀に戻ってきて、ネオンとライトアップで美しいミナミの水辺の景色に何とも言えない感動を覚えました。地元大阪出身ではありますが、川から見える大阪の街がまた大好きになりました。最後に、このツアーにおおきに。

I was worried about whether I would find it funny at the only "Shofukutei" not listed in the guide, but those worries were dispelled through interactions with the customers (laughs). The weather was nice, and it felt great with the roof and windows fully open. Passing through the water gate was fascinating!

It was a very hot day, but the boat was cool and it was a relief. A rakugo performer guided us, allowing us to learn about the past and present of Osaka while laughing. The bento I reserved was not only compactly packed with Osaka specialties but also very delicious. The staff on board were friendly and kind. I was very satisfied with the cruise, but there was no waiting room, so I give it four stars. Since the weather can vary, I think everyone will want to arrive with plenty of time to spare to avoid being late, so it would be nice to have a nearby covered area to wait.

すごく暑い日でしたが船が涼しく助かりました。落語家さんがガイドしてくれるので、笑いながら大阪の今昔を学ぶことができました。予約しておいたお弁当も大阪名物がコンパクトにまとまっている上にたいへんおいしかったです。乗っているスタッフの方も感じがよく親切でした。クルーズは大満足でしたが、待合室がないので星４つです。天候もいろいろですし、絶対に遅れないように皆さん余裕を持って集まられると思うので、近くの屋根があるところで待てたらうれしいです。

I went during the nice weather of Golden Week. It was a bit hot, but the inside of the boat was air-conditioned and comfortable.
Bringing food and drinks is prohibited, but you can purchase beverages (including alcohol) on board.
If you're expecting a truly entertaining performance from a professional storyteller, you might be a little disappointed, but since I didn't know much about Osaka, the explanations were very clear and interesting, and the time flew by.
I probably won't repeat the experience, but I think it's worth trying at least once.

飲食物の持ち込みは禁止されていますが、中で飲み物(アルコール有)を購入できます。

I secretly included this during our trip to Osaka, and the professional rakugo performer guided us, showing us a different side of Osaka. The foreign guests we shared the ride with, as well as my daughter, were also entertained, and both my daughter (4 years old) and my wife were very satisfied! Thanks to this, we had a wonderful time. Next time, we want to bring grandma along too! We'll come back during cherry blossom season.

If you just ride the boat normally, it would just be a simple river cruise, but as expected from a rakugo performer, the storytelling was excellent and I was never bored. Even though it was a weekday, the boat was almost full. There were also guests from Nagano and Akita. I highly recommend this tour!

I enjoyed my tour and the highlight was Osaka Palace. it was cherry blossom season and the feeling was magical. the tours was at a good pace. I enjoyed it more than a bus tour. the observation tower and the cruise was also most enjoyable. Osaka is a big place the subways are complicated. this is a good way to see some key sites within reach. the lobby of the Granvia hotel is not easy to locate so start early.

Waving to everyone in Osaka from the sightseeing boat, it's a fun tour. 遊覧船から大阪の皆さんへ手を振ると、楽しいツアーです。

Fortunately, the guide on the day of the tour was Kintaro Katsura, who also appears in the promotional photos for this tour, and his performance infused with rakugo was incredibly entertaining.

On the day of the tour, the weather was clear, and the roof of the sightseeing boat was fully open, allowing us to see people walking along the shore up close. When I waved to the pedestrians (ordinary people from Osaka) from the boat, they all returned my wave with bright smiles.

At the finale near Dotonbori, all the participants on the tour were singing "Rokko Oroshi" while waving to the people walking on the bridge. Since it was Dotonbori, there were many passersby, and of course, the people on the bridge waved back, making me feel the warm hospitality of Osaka.

It seems that not only tourists but also many locals from the Osaka area joined the tour, making it truly enjoyable. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to participate again.

運の良い事に、参加日のガイドは、このツアー紹介写真にも出ている桂きん太郎さん（師匠？）に当たり、落語の芸が入った案内がたいへん面白いツアーでした。

参加日当日は快晴で、遊覧船の屋根が全開でしたので、岸辺を歩く方々が間近に見えました。
船から歩いている方々（大阪の一般通行人です）へ手を振ると、道行く皆さんは、良い笑顔で手を振り返してくれます。

フィナーレの道頓堀あたりでは、ツアー参加者のお客さんは皆、船内に流れる六甲おろしを合唱しながら橋の上の道行く大阪の皆さんへ手を振っていました。
道頓堀なので通行人も多かったですが、もちろん橋の上の人たちも手を振り返してくれて、大阪の「おもてなし」を感じました。

観光客に限らず大阪方面が地元の人もけっこう乗っているようなツアーで、本当に楽しめますので、機会があれば、ぜひまた参加したいです。
