    Todaiji is a World Cultural Heritage Site home to the largest bronze Buddha statue in the world. and is the largest wooden building in Japan. Nara Park is a place of scenic beauty, with over 1,200 deer roaming freely throughout the park.
  • Kasuga Taisha Shrine (40 minutes)
    This historical Shinto shrine dates back to 768 and is known for the numerous bronze and stone lanterns on the grounds.
  • Nara Nagomikan (20 minutes)
    Visit the largest souvenir shop in Nara. Enjoy yourself in this spacious shop and look for the perfect souvenir for yourself and your loved ones.

    The grounds of Nijo Castle consist of two concentric rings of fortification, the Honmaru (main circle of defense) and the Ninomaru (secondary circle of defense), along with beautiful gardens and various support buildings.
  • Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion) (45 minutes)
    A gorgeous zen temple, the top two floors of Kinkaku-ji are completely covered in gold leaf. The Golden Pavilion is surrounded by one of the most exquisite Muromachi Period gardens in the area.
  • Kyoto Imperial Palace (All Days Except Mondays*) (40 minutes)
    Located within the beautiful gardens of Kyoto Gyoen, this architectural beauty was the residence of the Emperor of Japan until 1869.

    *Mondays, Tuesday if Monday is a national holiday, May 14-17 for the Aoi Festival, New Year's holidays and whenever there is an Imperial Household event
  • Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (Mondays and Days when Imperial Palace is Closed) (40 minutes)
    This shrine's main hall is a designated national treasure and is famous for housing the god of scholarship. The shrine is especially beautiful during the plum blossom and autumn foliage seasons.
  • Lunch (60 minutes)
    Enjoy a Japanese set meal to fuel up for the afternoon.

    Vegetarian, halal, gluten-free, and other meal requests are not available.
  • Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine (30 minutes)
    Stroll through the thousand red torii gates as you make your way to the famed shrine. You will be able to spot many fox statues, symbols of the messenger of Inari (the god of grains), as you explore the shrine which was dedicated by the Hakata Clan to the god of rice and sake in the 8th century.
  • Sanjusangendo Temple (30 minutes)
    This Buddhist temple received the name of Sanjusangendo (Hall of 33 spaces) because of the architecture of its 120-meter long hall. The hall holds 1,000 statues of the Thousand Armed Kannon, one of the most important Buddhist deities in Japan.
  • Kiyomizudera Temple (70 minutes)
    Offering sweeping views of Kyoto, Kiyomizu-dera Temple is a Buddhist temple famous for its architecture where not a single nail was used in its construction, and its waters, which are supposed to grant wishes!
  • 18:00 - 19:00 Kyoto Station (140 minutes)
    Board the bullet train headed for Tokyo. Relax and reminisce about your fantastic journey through famous and historic shrines and temples.

    • Children ages 0-5 will not have their own seat. If you would like a seat for a child aged 0-5, please book them as a child (ages 6-11).
    • The tour does not include entrance to areas requiring admission at Kasuga Taisha Shrine.
    • Nara Nagomikan may be omitted from the itinerary if it is closed on the day of the tour or as a result of traffic congestion.
    • During the Gion Festival (Sakimatsuri, July 15 - 16), drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel and Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto will be unavailable due to traffic restrictions.
    • The tour will visit Nishi Hongan-ji Temple instead of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine on February 25, March 25 and November 25.
    • Nijo Castle is closed on Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December. It is closed on the following day if Tuesday is a holiday. On these days or if the tour is during the year-end/New Year's holidays, Ryoan-ji Temple will be visited instead.
    • The Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed on the following days: Mondays, Tuesday if Monday is a national holiday, May 14-17 for the Aoi Festival, New Year's holidays, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event. On these days, the tour will proceed to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead.
    • Please note that due to repair and restoration work, part or all of the Kiyomizu-dera Temple Main Hall will not be visible.
    • Vegetarian menus are available with advance notice on the first day.
