Tenía más expectativas de este show

Reviewed by: Mili, 2019/11/06

Tenía más expectativas de este show de robots, no son realmente robots, son carros alegóricos manejados con control remoto, los bailes si muy divertidos pero para lo el precio que costó esperaba robots de verdad como el
Nombre de show lo sugiere!!

Too much selling!

Reviewed by: Malcolm., 2019/08/28

the show was okay, but the environment was tacky and tired. We expected robots - there were none!

the dancing was great, but this was a bit of a let down and felt expensive. Every minute outside of the performance was focused on trying to get audience members to buy something and it was very frustrating.

Different experience

Reviewed by: ddn, 2019/06/11

Not very much for our age group of 55 years. Very noisy and the place was very small for the big robots. In the first row the fumes were also not very welcome.

No longer as fun as it used to be

Reviewed by: Alex, 2019/05/05

Compared to three years ago the show lost much of it’s fun. The huge robots Bumblebee like are gone and the choreographies are changed for the worse. I wouldn’t recommend

Ok show to watch but expensive

Veltra allowed me to get a discount for this show, which was great! The voucher got me my seat no problem! Robot Restaurant is a weird very Japanese kind of show that you will either hate or like.

Crazy but felt like a production line

Reviewed by: disgruntled patron, 2018/01/21

The show itself was crazy and very intense but the people serving weren't friendly and it was clear that this is a tourist production line. We weren't even allowed to leave the building. Everything was extremely structured and you are allowed 2 minutes for photos afterwards for everyone so lots of people missed out. And they push you out straight away afterwards. I was putting on my coat and allowing others to go in front of me and they kept trying to push me out.

Interesting to watch once

Reviewed by: kechisan, 2018/01/10

We struggled to find the place: everywhere are signs sending you to right or left but you never find the correct entrance. Super confusing.

We got the show recomended by some friends. I was expecting a bit more high level dancing performance. What you get is a lot of interesting costumes, some huge robot-puppets, light effects, artists dancing, singing and playing instruments. All in all an interesting show made for americans. It's interesting to watch but I woulnt go a second time.

This show did not arouse my enthusiasm, but in principle you understand that there is a lot of money invested in all these robots, artists work, a lot of noise, you can visit this performance if you find a big discount on tickets

Loud and obnoxious

Reviewed by: Nicole, 2017/04/17

My husband and I thought it was interesting and different. Our kids (ages 8 and 11) hated it. It was WAY too loud. They provided noise dampening headphones for kids under 10, which was appreciated, but they really just should never have had it be that loud for anyone. If you go, I recommend ear plugs, as you will start to have a headache after an hour. Definitely shop around for deals as these tickets can go on sale, but even for the sale price, I feel they are still overpriced. There are better things to do in Tokyo. But, if you really want to see the show, Veltra offered a good deal on tickets.

Campy with heart

Reviewed by: Colin L, 2017/04/03

Given the geographical area where the show venue is located I understand why it may not be billed as a family show, which is a shame because I think kids aged 8-16 would really love this performance. Our group was four adults, the crowd was 90% tourist adults. Lots of neat character designs, props and radio controlled platforms with performers putting a lot of energy into it albeit at an amateur level. Given the price of admission $50-70 per person, it's a bit much for the quality of the talent then given the pre-holding area with suggested drinks it gets downright expensive. The show is betwixt and between; not racy enough as an adults only show, not cheap enough for a family show. But it is iconic in its own way and for those looking to kill a couple of hours with modest entertainment with pocketbooks which won't mind; worthwhile.

Overrated

Reviewed by: Flc80, 2017/03/25

We enjoyed the show, it's really one of a kind world wide, but we were expecting more robots and mechanized entertainment and less cabaret dancers. Were the price 20 bucks, I'd recommend it, but fit the actual price, it's overrated, I'd spend the money somewhere else in such a wonderful city with so many options.

Don't buy the bento box

Reviewed by: lucysurvey.com, 2016/12/09

Show was corny but entertaining. All foreigners. I'd recommend watching it at least once. A lot of downtime for intermissions but overall a very high energy performance. If you select bento box on the reservation, they make you lay for it at the location. If you are hungry, I'd recommend eating beforehand.

Brief show with no plot

Reviewed by: Pavel, 2016/07/07

The show offers a dose of odd fun. I gave it 3 stars for the following reasons:

-it's too short for the cost of admission.
-there's down time for set up of chained walls. I understand safety is important however this time can be used to further entertain the audience with a smaller act that doesn't interfere with other staff setting up the chained barriers.
-there's additional down time to hand out glow sticks. Why can't they hand out glow sticks while others are setting up the chained barrier.
-there's too many breaks to sell booze. I got taken out of the fun because there was so much down time.

In sum, it seems like there can be more show for the dollar value instead of what I described. Lastly, this performance is geared to entertaining foreigners. Expect to be sitting in a room full people who speak English.

Fun moments, Slow Moments, Frustrating moments

Reviewed by: RipperP, 2016/06/20

In it's best moments, it's wacky, fun, colorful, loud, and nothing like I've ever seen. At it's worst, it's a contrived tourist trap and feels like they're trying to milk everyone who walked through the door for every last dime. Everyone who shows up prior to the show goes upstairs to a room with insufficient seating, a musician playing solo, and drinks and snacks overpriced to a degree I have not seen anywhere else in Japan (300 yen for a bottle of water, 500 yen for a soda). Then everyone heads down 4 or 5 flights of very colorful stairs to the basement, and packs into rows of seats. I did not opt for any of the food except popcorn, which was OK. The show consists of a few unrelated acts, each with its own vapid theme of intense multi-sensory stimulation, and separated by long (hot) breaks where they are hocking overpriced drinks and snacks. My 65-year old father, who is usually up for anything, was totally unamused and actually fell asleep during the madness. My 9 and 11-year-old nephews said it was a "7 out of 10." If I could go back in time, I would advise myself to skip it and spend more time in Odaiba or one of the theme cafes, or just walking around one of the many great neighborhoods in Tokyo. Skip it, unless you really like this colorful, weird, loud, cheesy Japanese sort of thing and don't mind doing an unabashed foreign tourist activity (zero Japanese people were in attendance).

  • It's difficult to find any spots that aren't colorful and shiny.

Psychedelic experience

Reviewed by: Linda, 2016/04/03

I'm a harsh critic. Lots of tourists. Take it or leave it. It is at times cheesy but the robots were pretty cool if you're into that type of stuff. It's probably better for families with kids than for grown adults. I paid about $45 a person for just the show and I probably wouldn't pay any more than that. It's 2.5 hours of crazy lights and robots.

I saw the show in last year and i was amazed. Loved so much and looked to see again. This yeat i got back Tokyo and went to the show again. This time had an extra break during a show for up selling beverages and snacks. The show was shorter and much less spectacular. Turned to be some kind of 'turist tax' :(
