Cancellation Policy
- Any cancellations made between 18:00 local time, 7 business days to 18:00 local time, 2 business days prior to the activity will be subject to a charge of 30% of the total amount.
- Any cancellations made between 18:00 local time, 2 business days to 18:00 local time, 1 business days prior to the activity will be subject to a charge of 50% of the total amount.
- Any cancellations made after 18:00 local time, 1 business days prior to the activity will be subject to a charge of 100% of the total amount.

Restrictions
- The adult fee applies to participants aged 13 and older. If you would like to join the tour with children aged 12 and under, please choose the add-on upon booking and indicate the number of children participating.
- The infant fee (0 to 5 years old) includes an insurance premium and a meal. Please note that additional charges may apply on site.
- Participants aged 16 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.
- Physical fitness (strength and endurance) are necessary to complete the trek. Please make sure to keep your body in good condition before the trek.
- In the event that you feel physical discomfort or sickness during the trek, please follow the advice of your guide.
- The guide may decide to return halfway during the tour if it seems dangerous to go farther. Private guides will accommodate the customer's requests as much as possible, but with safety as the utmost priority.
- If you wish to hire a private guide, an additional fee of JPY 5,000 per group per day will be charged, which you can request on the add-on page.
- Please note that the premium fee of JPY 5,000 will apply should only one customer book the tour on the scheduled date. Additional fees must be paid on site.
- If you wish to rent hiking shoes and rain gear, please let us know your sizes at least one week in advance. Rental gear may be difficult to arrange during peak season.
- The roads in Shiratani Unsuikyou may be closed if the water levels of the rivers become too high due to heavy rain. The course will be changed to Yasukugi Land in case of heavy rain.

- - trekking boots
- socks (woolen ones for winter season)
- rucksack (25 to 40 L capacity) with cover
- outer wear to protect against cold (made of fleece etc.)
- rain gear (upper and bottoms, no matter the weather forecast)
- trousers (not jeans)
- T-shirt
- sweater (for winter)
- cap
- gloves
- head lamp
- battery
- water bottle
- light snacks/trail mix (candy, chocolate, cookies, etc.)
- insurance certificate - Optional items to bring:
- spats
- plastic bag
- light crampons (for winter)
- sun screen
- folding umbrella
- trekking poles
Other requirements
- A separate fee for the Shiratani Usuikyo environmental fee (JPY 500) and Yakushima environmental fee (JPY 1000) must be paid onsite.

- The activity schedule is subject to change or cancellation due to weather or traffic conditions.
- In Yakushima, shops do not open until 9:00 a.m. Be sure to buy snacks prior to the tour.
