Although it was my oversight and the tour company is not at fault at all, during the final confirmation registration, I received information about the accident insurance and registered for it, but I forgot that I had registered. As a result, I had to confirm it through the guide at the time of payment at the end of the tour. If possible, I would appreciate receiving a confirmation email regarding the registration (accident insurance enrollment) after the registration.

Although my body was exhausted, it was a day filled with an indescribable sense of fulfillment. To celebrate our 60th birthdays as a couple, we participated in a trekking tour to Jomon Sugi. We wanted to walk at our own pace, so we requested a private guide. Our guide, Iwakawa, was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained with his frequent dad jokes, making the 12-hour round trip (with breaks, of course) enjoyable. Thank you very much! I participated the day after trekking at Shiratani Unsuikyo. I was suffering from severe muscle pain due to my lack of exercise, but it was great to be able to enjoy sightseeing comfortably. For those who want to take their time to see each spot, the sightseeing time might feel a bit short, but considering that it's possible to cover everything in one day, I think it's sufficient. I appreciated the thoughtful gestures, like allowing my companion with back pain to use the back seat and stopping the bus when we spotted a family of monkeys along the way. The only downside was that the Western Forest Road was closed, but I believe it gives me something to look forward to next time.

I didn't feel tired at all on the way to Jomon Sugi, but I was very tired on the way back. However, Mr. Ando kept the conversation going without interruption, which made it easier to walk. Additionally, it was great that he created different topics from different perspectives on the way there and back. Waking up at 3 AM, the long trek on the cart path, the tough mountain climbing, and finally seeing the size of Jomon Sugi was truly moving. Even though it was beyond the fence, I was overwhelmed by its presence, having lived there since ancient times. All my fatigue disappeared, and I was just so glad to have come.

We were part of a group of about eight people, including a veteran guide full of love for Yakushima and a newcomer who had moved to Yakushima. At first, the walking pace felt a bit fast, but considering the long journey and the frequent breaks, the time management was excellent.
