We participated as a middle-aged couple with little climbing experience and a lack of exercise. Our guide, Ms. Yabuta, is a young woman who moved from outside the prefecture. She was very knowledgeable and provided us with excellent support.

For example, on the way back from Jomon Sugi, when my knees started to hurt and my walking slowed down, she lent me a knee supporter and carried my backpack during steep descents. I had worn support tights and taken some precautions beforehand, but I hadn't thought of using an additional supporter on top of that, so her help was greatly appreciated.

She also occasionally stopped to explain about the trees, flowers, moss, and ferns. Looking back, I think these breaks were not just for resting but were provided as "refreshment while learning." Thanks to her, we were able to complete a safe and educational journey, even though we were exhausted.

When I signed up, I thought the price was a bit high, but considering that the hotel pickup was at 5 AM and drop-off at 7 PM, and that we received 14 hours of one-on-one, intensive service, as well as the ability to walk at our own pace without worrying about other participants, I feel it was definitely worth it.

登山経験がほぼない、運動不足の中年夫婦での参加でした。
ガイドの藪田さんは、県外から移住してこられた若い女性ですが、よく勉強しておられ、私たちを大変丁寧にサポートしてくださいました。
例えば、縄文杉からの帰路、ひざ痛で歩行が鈍くなった際には、サポーターを貸し、急な下りの箇所ではリュックを持ってくださいました。
サポートタイツをはき、事前対策はしていたのですが、その上からさらにサポーターをつけるという発想はなく、用意もしていなかったので、とても助かりました。
また、ときどき立ち止まり、木や花、苔、シダなどについて解説してくれたのですが、振り返ってみれば、それが「休憩のための休憩」ではなく、「学びながらのリフレッシュ」として提供されていたのではないかと思います。
おかげで、へとへとになりながらも、安全で、学びの多い旅を完遂することができました、
申し込む際には、料金がちょっと高いかなとも思いましたが、ホテルへの迎えが５時、送りが１９時で、１４時間マンツーマンで濃いサービスを受けられたことや、他の参加者に気兼ねなく、ゆっくりマイペースで歩き通すことができたことなどを考えると、決して高くなかったと感じています。

I joined the tour with the goal of visiting Taiko Rock and Jomon Sugi. Since it was during Golden Week, I was worried about the crowds, but thanks to our guide's assistance, we were able to enjoy nature while walking without other groups around us. It's a bit of a challenging course since it's a greedy route, but the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction is greater than with other tours. If your goals align, I highly recommend giving this course a try!

太鼓岩と縄文杉が目的でツアーに参加しました。GWということもあり人混みが心配でしたが、ガイドさんの案内のおかげで前後に他のグループも無くて自然を満喫しながら歩けました。欲張りコースなので多少はしんどいですが達成感や満足感は他のツアーよりあるので目的が合えばぜひチャレンジオススメするコースです！

I participated in the Jomon Sugi trekking the day before, so I was sore all over, but surprisingly, once I started walking, my body moved well. Sunlight filtering through the mossy forest. After climbing a bit more in the somewhat dark mossy forest, the view suddenly opened up, and the green scenery spread out, with a pleasant breeze. We departed at 8:40 and returned by 2:30 PM. When we arrived at Taiko Rock, the guide told us we had plenty of time, so we were able to relax. We had lunch on the way down, and the instant miso soup the guide made was delicious! I would love to visit again in a different season. Thank you for your help.

前日に縄文杉トレッキングに参加していたので、全身筋肉痛でしたが歩き始めると意外と身体が動いて驚きでした。
苔むす森に差し込んでくる木漏れ日。
少し暗い苔むす森をもうひとふんばり登ると
一気に視界がひらけて、緑の景色が広がって風も気持ちよかったです。
８時４０分出発、午後２時半には帰ってこれました。
太鼓岩に到着したときに、時間に余裕がありますよ、とガイドさんに言われてのんびりできました。
下山途中でお昼を食べて、ガイドさんが作ってくれたインスタントのお味噌汁のおいしかったこと！
また違う季節に行ってみたいです。

I participated with my mother in her 50s. I am very grateful to the guide who was attentive to my mother as she started to fall behind the group's pace and adapted flexibly to lead us to the goal. The guide also provided detailed explanations about the trekking highlights and the flora, allowing us to have a wonderful time that was more than just walking. Thank you very much.

It was my first solo trip and trekking! I was anxious when I heard it would take 10 hours round trip, but the guide helped by taking breaks at appropriate times and teaching us tips for walking in the mountains. Also, the explanations about the plants and animals along the way were interesting. Personally, while the Jomon Sugi was amazing, the Yakusugi that had been touched and the riverside where we took a break were incredibly beautiful, and I was moved! I had a great time! Thank you very much.

初めてのひとり旅&トレッキングでした！
往復10時間と聞いて、不安でしたが、ガイドの方が適宜休憩をとってくださったり、山歩きのコツを教えてくださったりして助かりました。
また、道中の動植物の説明もしていただいておもしろかったです。
個人的には、縄文杉もすごかったけど、触られスギな屋久杉や休憩した川辺もすごくきれいで、感動しました！

I'm a beginner in mountain climbing and participated with a friend. It was a tight three-day travel schedule, but since we were going, I wanted to see both Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo, so I signed up for this ambitious course!

First of all... I think some preparation is definitely necessary. Before the trip, I climbed a few mountains in the Tokyo area to check my climbing skills. Since it's a 12-hour walking course, it's better to buy shoes that fit your feet rather than renting them. No matter how fit you are, if you get blisters, you won't be able to walk.

If you take care of your health and prepare well, the guides, who are fun and full of service spirit, will surely provide a wonderful tour! Although we couldn't see the mountain views from Taiko Rock because it was covered in white clouds, we still had a great time. Even the long and challenging paths were enjoyable thanks to the guides' stories and games.

Even if it's not a one-day tour, I definitely recommend using this tour company! I'm sure you'll create wonderful memories. The next day I had muscle soreness, but it became a very good memory. Thank you, Tsugimura-san. I have come to love the mountains even more!

登山初心者です。友人と一緒に参加しました。
弾丸3日間の旅行日程でしたが、せっかく行くなら縄文杉&白谷雲水峡のどっちも見たい‼︎と思い、この欲張りコースに申込みさせて頂きました☆

まず始めに…。
やっぱり多少の事前準備は必要だと思います。私は出発までに東京近郊の山で何回か登山をして自分の登山スキルを確認しました。あと12時間も歩くコースなので、シューズはレンタルより自分の足に合うものを買うべきです。どんなに体力があっても靴擦れしたら歩けなくなってしまいます。
あとは体調を整えて挑めば、楽しくてサービス精神に溢れたガイドさんが、きっと素敵なツアーを催行してくれます！
太鼓岩は真っ白な雲に覆われて山々の景色を見れませんでしたが、そんな時でも楽しませて頂きました。長くて大変な道もガイドさんの話やゲームで楽しく歩けました。
1日ツアーでなくても、ぜひこちらのツアー会社を使ってみて下さい！きっと素敵な想い出ができると思います。
翌日は筋肉痛でしたが、とても良い想い出になりました。

The day we participated was sunny, and the scenery was clearly visible no matter where we went, which was great. The guide was enjoyable, and I think 5,000 yen for a full day of sightseeing with meals included is a good deal.

参加した日は晴れていて、どこへ行っても景色がはっきりと見えてとても良かったです。
ガイドさんは楽しい方でしたし、1日観光もできて食事もついて5000円は安いと思います。

The weather was nice, and the guide was cheerful, making it a fun memory.

The small group size allowed us to take our time exploring. It was perfect for my first trip to Yakushima, as we could efficiently visit the sights. The driver and guide were both wonderful and very comforting. I highly recommend it!

少人数制で、ゆっくりと見学できました。効率良く名所を回れるので、初めての屋久島の旅にピッタリです。ドライバーさんやガイドさんの人柄も大変良く癒されました。本当におススメです！

Since I participated from America, it was difficult to make phone calls the day before, but the guide was kind and helpful. I contacted them in advance, and they informed me about the pick-up time at my accommodation. The guide also came directly to the lodging, so I was able to participate in the tour with peace of mind on the day. Thank you very much.
The hike at Taiko Rock was wonderful with clear weather.

アメリカから参加したため、前日の電話連絡等がとりにくく難儀しましたが、ガイドさんが親切で助かりました。　とりあえず事前にこちらから連絡しましたところ宿泊先に迎えの時間について連絡をいただき、またガイドさんも直接宿泊施設に来ていただいたりしたので、当日は安心してツアーに参加することができました。　どうもありがとうございました。

I had no experience with trekking or mountain climbing, but I participated in this tour. On April 14, when I joined, it was raining heavily, and unfortunately, the view from Taiko Rock wasn't very clear, but we were able to go there.

Since I was inexperienced, I was worried about my physical strength, but I managed to endure it.

The guide was very kind and even served us miso soup for lunch.

There are no other tours that take you to both Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo in one day, but I definitely think it's better to do it in one day.

However, I regret not preparing lightweight and quick-drying clothing (°_°).

トレッキングや登山未経験でしたが、こちらのツアーに参加しました。参加した4月14日はすごく雨が降っていて、太鼓岩の景色は残念ながらあまり綺麗に見えませんでしたが、行くことはできました。
未経験なので、体力にも不安がありましたが、耐えられました。

ガイドさんはとても親切で、お昼にお味噌汁も出してくださりました。

縄文杉と白谷雲水峡の両方を 1日で行くツアーは他にありませんが、1日で行く方が絶対良いと思いました。

ただ、服装は軽くて速乾の物を準備すれば良かったと後悔しました(°_°)

I really wanted to go to Taiko Rock, but since I hiked Jomon Sugi the day before, I ended up on a half-day tour. That's the only regret I have. The guide was fun and made the experience easy. I hope to challenge Taiko Rock again next year.

When you order a tour through a travel agency, you get grouped with other people, but if you order directly online here, it seems like they take you in smaller groups. It was very good.

本当は太鼓岩まで行きたかったのですが、前日縄文杉登山をしたので時間的に半日で終わるツアーになってしまいた。これだけが残念で心残りです。ガイドさんも楽しく難なく行って来れました。また来年にでも太鼓岩に挑戦したいと思います。
旅行社でツアーをオーダーすると他の人と纏められてしまいますが直接コチラにネットオーダーすると少人数で行ってくれるみたいです。とても良かったです。

I was worried about whether I could manage 22 km from 4:30 AM until the evening, but the guide took breaks as needed and taught us stretches, so I was able to return feeling better than I expected. I was also fortunate with the weather. However, there was someone in the middle of the line who frequently fell, and I got tired from stopping right behind them, so I think it would have gone more smoothly if the guide had walked right behind them to help. I really appreciated that they took photos for us, but I was disappointed that the pictures didn't turn out very well. When I asked for a retake, they only took pictures of the scenery and didn't include me, which was quite disappointing. Overall, I’m satisfied that I returned safely. Thank you very much.

朝4：30集合で夕方まで22kmを乗り切れるか心配でしたが、ガイドさんが適宜休憩を取ったり、ストレッチを教えてくださったので、思っていたよりも元気に戻ることができました。天気にも恵まれてよかったです。ただ、列の真ん中によく転ぶ方がいらして、その真後ろで止まったりして疲れてしまったので、できればガイドさんが気を利かしてガイドさんの直後を歩いてくださるようにしてくれれば、もっとスムーズに行ったのではないかな、と思います。写真を撮ってくださるのもとてもありがたかったですが、写真があまり上手に撮れていなくて、撮りなおしてもらおうとしたら、景色だけを撮って、私を入れてくれなかったのでとてもがっかりしました。全般的には無事に帰れて満足です。どうもありがとうございました。

This tour made me reflect on what it means to be a guide. The explanations were just a monotonous stream of walking, and my voice couldn't reach the back. When I mentioned that I couldn't hear, the response was that they couldn't raise their voice any higher. There was no explanation about how to walk or about the moving stones; the guide just hurried ahead on their own.

Is this really a guide? Or just someone leading the way?

There were five of us climbing together. One person sprained their ankle, and while two others fortunately didn't get injured, they slipped down 2-4 meters. One person had to retire from the climb. However, in other groups, the guides were considerate, encouraging everyone to support each other as they climbed. I know my lack of stamina played a part, but I wish the guide had managed the pace better and shown more care. It's disappointing, especially since we paid the same fee. I don't think I'll be going back to Yakushima again.

ガイドの仕事とはなんぞやっと考えさせられるツワーでした。ただひたすら歩きながらの説明、後ろまで声は届かず 聞こえないっていうと これ以上声は出ないと反論。足運び方や動いてる石の説明や確かめてをすることもなく一人でさっさといってしまう。
これってガイド？それともただの先頭の人？
一緒に登ったのは5人 一人は捻挫 2人は幸いにも怪我はなかったけど2-4M滑り降り 1人はリタイア でも他の組みはガイドさんが気を使いみんなで励まし合い登っていました。私の体力不足もありましょうがガイドさんのペース配分とか心使いがあればよかったのにと残念です。同じ料金なのに。もう屋久島には行かないと思います

The scenery was very beautiful, as expected from a place that inspired Studio Ghibli. When I visited, it was raining on and off, but in the end, the sun came out, and the light reflected off the dew on the moss, creating a very magical landscape. However, the guide was able to take photos at the basic photo points, but they walked quite quickly, so I couldn't take pictures freely when I thought something was beautiful. It was also disappointing that I couldn't hear the explanations while walking.

私が行ったときは雨が降ったりやんだりを繰り返してましたが、最後に日が出て、スギゴケに付いた露に光が反射してとても幻想的な風景を見ることができました。
ただ、担当のガイドさんは、基本的な写真ポイントでは撮影していただけますが、結構スタスタと歩いて行ってしまうために、自分で綺麗だと思ったときに、自由に写真を撮ることがあまりできませんでした。
また、歩いてる途中の説明が聞こえなくて残念でした。

This was my first time visiting Yakushima and seeing Jomon Sugi.
I have very little climbing experience and haven't exercised much lately, so I was worried about whether I could walk the 22-kilometer round trip.

Given those concerns, I thought it would be best to have a guide who knows the area better than anyone else, so I decided to join a tour. It also provided peace of mind in case of any emergencies.

On the day of departure, a taxi picked me up near my accommodation just after 4 AM.

After waiting for about 10 minutes at the bus arrival point, a chartered bus arrived, already filled with climbers.

From there, we set off towards the Arakawa Trailhead. The bus made a stop to pick up the bento I had pre-ordered, which the guide kindly retrieved for us (thank you!).

After about 45 minutes on the bus, we arrived. Everyone was fast asleep, but I couldn't sleep at all due to nerves.

Once we arrived at the trailhead, we had a hearty breakfast with the bento we purchased and took care of our restroom needs before gathering with our guide for a brief orientation. We then did some light stretching as a warm-up.

Since it was still dim, we put on our headlamps and set off!

Walking along the trolley path, we quickly passed through a tunnel, feeling like we were in an Indiana Jones movie. I was filled with excitement for the unknown adventure ahead!

Along the way, the guide provided detailed explanations about Yakushima's environment and geological features, allowing us to learn a lot.

We progressed with a sense of awe at the giant rock formations, unfamiliar birds, and plants, feeling as if we were in a nature far removed from Japan.

After several breaks, we stopped for a restroom break at the entrance to the large tree path.

From here, we entered the actual climbing trail.

The path was quite challenging, but I was moved by the fantastical scenery and the giant cedar trees as I continued on.

There were continuous stairs and steep rocky sections. I made sure to walk carefully and slowly to avoid injury.

At the Wilson stump, we took a perfect heart-shaped photo. I thought it would have been impossible to see it as a heart without the guide!

When the guide announced it was time for lunch, we decided to eat our bento at a resting spot near a water source.

Thanks to the guide's thoughtful gesture, we were treated to some miso soup, which was incredibly delicious! Eating in such a place is so much more enjoyable than at home.

At this point, we were told we had about an hour left to Jomon Sugi, and I was filled with joy as the goal came into sight.

After passing by the large cedar tree, Ohyama Sugi, and the couple cedar trees, only Jomon Sugi remained.

About one kilometer left.

Then, right before us, the overwhelming presence of Jomon Sugi appeared.

It truly had the aura of a king.

All the fatigue I had felt vanished, replaced by a sense of accomplishment and emotion!

After a brief rest, we began our descent.

Going down, I was even more cautious than when climbing. The key was to choose the next foot placement carefully and walk quietly with small steps.

When I finally reached the entrance of the large tree path, which is both the end and the starting point of the trolley path, I let out a sigh of relief.

From there, it was just a matter of walking along the trolley path, but trouble struck!

My partner lost their footing and fell! They couldn't get up for a while, and I worried they might have hurt themselves, but after a moment, they managed to get up on their own, which was a relief.

However, the troubles didn't end there. One of the members strayed off the path and nearly fell off a cliff, which really panicked me.

I had heard that people get careless on the descent of the trolley path and end up in accidents, but I never expected to witness it

屋久島は初めてで、縄文杉も初めて。
登山歴も殆ど無く、最近運動もしてないので
果たして往復２２キロの道のりを歩く事が出来るのか？

そうした不安があったので、
現地の事を誰よりも知っているガイドさんを付けた方が
間違い無い！と思い、ツアーに参加することを決めました。
万が一の時にも安心出来ますからね。

出発当日は、朝４時過ぎに宿の近くまでタクシーが
迎えに来てくれました。

そして、バスの到着場所で待つこと１０分。
貸切バスが到着し、乗り込むと既に登山客で一杯でした。

そこから荒川登山口向けて出発。
途中、事前予約していたお弁当を受け取る為に
バスは停車。
ガイドさんがわざわざ取って来てくれました（感謝）

それから、バスに揺られて45分程で到着。
皆爆睡していましたが、緊張しているのか
全く眠れませんでしたね。。

登山口に到着後、お弁当屋さんで購入した
お弁当でしっかりと朝食を取り、トイレを済ませた後
担当のガイドさんの元に集合して、
簡単なオリエンテーションを受けた後、
皆で軽く準備運動としてストレッチをしました。

まだ薄暗かったのでヘッドライトを装着して、
いざ出発！

トロッコ道を歩いていくと直ぐにトンネルを
通ったので、気分はインディージョーンズの世界♪
未知なる冒険に出発する気持ちで期待が一杯でしたね～

道中、ガイドさんが屋久島の環境や地質の特徴を
詳しく解説して貰い、色々と勉強する事が出来ました。

巨石群や見知らぬ鳥や植物。
日本とは思えないくらいの大自然に
畏敬を感じながら進みます。

途中休憩を何度かしてから、大株歩道入口で
トイレ休憩。

ここから本格的な登山道に入ります。

かなりハードな道のりでしたが幻想的な光景や
杉の大木に感動しながら、歩を進めて行きます。

階段、アップダウンの勾配に強い岩場の連続。
とにかく怪我だけはしないように
慎重に、ゆっくりと歩いて行きました。

ウィルソン株では、ハート型の撮影もバッチリ＾＾
これは、ガイドさんがいなければ
絶対にハート型に見えないと思いましたね～

道中、ガイドさんからお昼休憩すると言われたので
水場のある休憩場所でお弁当を食べる事に。

ガイドさんの粋な計らいで味噌汁を振舞われました＾＾
最高に美味しかったです！
ホント、こういう所で食べるご飯は
家で食べるより何倍も美味しいですね。

この時点で縄文杉まで残り１時間程と言われたので
ゴールが見えて来た喜びに包まれて出発。

縄文杉に次ぐ大木の大王杉、
夫婦杉を過ぎると残すは縄文杉のみ。

残り約１キロ。

そして、目の前に圧倒的な存在感の漂う

縄文杉が現れました。

まさに王者の風格です。

それまでの疲れも吹っ飛ぶくらい、
達成感と感動に溢れましたね！

しばしの休憩後、下山。

下りは上り以上に慎重に進んで行きました。
次の足を置くポイントを選びながら
小さな歩幅で足音立てずに
歩くのがポイントとの事。

なんとか、トロッコ道の終点でもあり
始点でもある大株林道入口に辿り着いた時は
ホッと胸を撫で下ろしました＾＾

後は、トロッコ道をてくてく歩いていくだけですが
ここでトラブルが発生！

パートナーが足を踏み外してなんと転倒！
しばらく起き上がれ無かったので、
打ちどころが悪かったのかも、と思いましたが
少し待つと自力で起き上がったので
ホッとしました＾＾；

でも、トラブルはそれだけでは終わらず
なんとその後メンバーが大きく道を踏み外して
危うく崖に落ちそうになった時は、
本当に焦りましたね。。

トロッコ道の下りは気持ちが緩んで
事故に遭う人がいると聞いていましたが、
まさか目の前で起こるとは思いませんでしたよ（汗）

それでも、無事全員で荒川登山口まで戻る事が
出来て、縄文杉トレッキングが無事終了しました！

ガイドさん本当にありがとうございました！

ペース配分や
要所、要所で的確にアドバイスして貰ったのは
本当にありがたかったです。

自分達だけだったら、
帰りのバスに間に合っていたかどうか怪しいものです。

ツアー参加前は、ガイド無しでの登山も考えましたが、
やはり、屋久島の魅力を十分に楽しむなら
ガイドさんを付けて正解でした。

すっかり屋久島の魅力にハマりましたので、
またいつか行きたいと思います！

The tour that covers Shiratani Unsuikyo and Jomon Sugi in one day is the only one available. If you go separately, you would end up taking the same route twice, and splitting it over two days could be mentally exhausting on the second day, so I highly recommend this tour that allows you to do it all in one day. According to the guide, even elderly people or those who don't usually exercise can complete it within the time limit. The guide is very knowledgeable about Yakushima and chose a course that suited the weather of the day. (The moss looks beautiful depending on how the sunlight hits it. In fact, as the guide said, the difference between morning and afternoon was remarkable.) Personally, I especially recommend Taiko Rock. It may not be very famous, but the view from Taiko Rock was breathtaking.

白谷雲水峡と縄文杉を1日で回るツアーはこのツアーだけでした。
別々に回ると同じ道を2回通ることになったり、2日に分けてしまうと2日目が精神的にしんどくなると思うので1日で回ることのできるこのツアーは大変おすすめです。
ガイドさんの話では、お年寄りや普段運動をしないという人でも時間内に回っているそうです。
ガイドさんは屋久島を知り尽くしていて、その日の天候に合ったコースを選んでくれました。（苔は日の当たり方次第でとても綺麗に見えるそうです。実際、ガイドさんの言う通り朝と昼とでは全然違いました。）
個人的には太鼓岩が特にオススメです。あまり有名ではない？ようですが、太鼓岩からの景色は絶景でした。

I was worried about being able to walk since I hadn't been exercising much, but the veteran guide (an experienced and energetic senior guide) provided breaks at just the right moments and points, allowing us to enjoy the entire journey.

After our lunch break, we were taken to some highlights that weren't on the original course, which made me very satisfied. (I believe the guide assessed our stamina and remaining time to make these decisions.)

If I had walked on my own, I wouldn't have been able to pace myself or learn about the origins of the sights, so I'm really glad I joined the tour.

On the day I participated, the weather was so clear that even the guide was surprised, and we took many memorable photos at the famous spots.

On the way back, as the guide mentioned, we were able to see monkeys.

Next, I want to join the Jomon Sugi course.

普段たいした運動をしていなかったので歩けるか不安でしたがベテランガイドさん（知識と経験豊富なバリバリ元気な最年長のベテランガイドさんでした）が絶妙なタイミングとポイントで休憩も兼ねて止って案内をして下さったので全行程を楽しく歩く事が出来ました。
お昼休憩後に時間があるからとコースに入っていない見どころにも案内して頂けて大満足でした。（体力や残り時間を判断して案内して下さるのだと思います）
個人で歩くとペース配分もできず見どころの由来も知らないままの１日だったと思うとツアーに参加して本当に良かったです。
参加した日はガイドさんも驚くほどの晴天で名所では写真も写してくださり記念がたくさん残りました。
帰路ではガイドさんがおっしゃる通りお猿に会うことが出来ました。
次は縄文杉コースに参加したいです。

It was amazing!
My favorite was Taiko Rock.
There were some tough paths, but after climbing, it felt great and like I was floating.
The fun of trekking and chatting with the guide made for wonderful memories.
Even the nameless cedar was lovely and soothing.
However, we started at Shiratani Unsuikyo at 5 o'clock, and it was so dark that we couldn't see anything, so it might have been better to split it into two days instead of one.
I was disappointed that Jomon Cedar had barriers around it, making it hard to get close.

私のお気に入りは太鼓岩です。
厳しい道もありましたが、登った後は気持ちよくて、浮いてる感じでした。
トレッキングの楽しさ、ガイドさんとのお話も楽しくて、いい思い出になりました。
名前のない杉まで十分素敵で、癒されました。
ただ、5時から白谷雲水峡をスタートしましたが、まっくらで何も見えなかったので、1日でまとめるのではなく2日に分けても良かったかもしれません。
縄文杉は予想していたより、囲いがあって近づけなかったのが残念です。

I participated in a trekking trip with two friends. Although rain was in the forecast, thanks to our guide's excellent time management, we were able to reach Taiko Rock safely. It started to rain on the way down, but we enjoyed ourselves until the end. I was very happy to see so many wonderful views. Departing early in the morning was great because there were fewer people trekking.

友人と3人でトレッキングに参加しました。雨予報でしたが、ガイドさんが上手く時間配分してくれたこともあり、無事に太鼓岩まで行くことができました。
下山途中から雨が降ってきましたが、最後まで楽しめました。すばらしい景色をたくさん見られてとても嬉しかったです。
早朝出発は、トレッキングしてる人が少なかったのが良かったです。

This time, we were a family of four, with our youngest being a 9-year-old child. I thought that in a large tour, we would be a burden, so I requested a dedicated guide. I also hoped that the children would be properly taught about the nature of this mountain. As a result, we had a veteran guide, and it was a great success! I truly think it was a great choice. Once we started walking, the children, whom I was worried about, had no concerns at all, while I (the mother), who was lacking in exercise, was encouraged throughout. Thanks to the guide's excellent pacing, we were able to see Jomon Sugi and even encountered deer and monkeys! We were able to return on the scheduled bus. I am truly grateful that our dream came true. Thank you very much.

今回は家族4人、下は9歳の子供がおり大勢のツァーでは足手まといになると思い、専任のガイドさんをお願いしました。子供達にきちんとこの山の自然について教えていただきたいという希望もありました。結果、ベテランガイドさんについていただき、大成功！本当にいい選択だったと自画自賛です。歩き始めると、心配していた子供達は全く心配なく、運動不足の私（母）が終始励まされる存在でしたが、優しいガイドさんの見事なペース配分のお陰で縄文杉に会え、鹿や猿にも遭遇！予定通りのバスに乗って帰れました。夢が叶って本当に感謝感激です。ありがとうございました。

The trekking in March turned out to be in sleet with a cold front. It was probably below 0 degrees, and I wanted to start a bit earlier, but since it was a group activity, it was difficult to do as I wished, which was tough. However, I was glad to finally encounter Jomon Sugi.

Unfortunately, the guide wasn't very talkative, which was another reason for my disappointment.

3月寒気の入った霙のトレッキングになりました。おそらく0度未満で寒かったので、少し早目に行きたかったのですが、団体行動となるので、なかなか思うようにいかずつらかったです。何とか縄文杉に出会えたことはよかったです。

ガイドさんは残念ながらあまり話を聞いていただける方ではなかったので、それも残念だった理由です。

At first, I wasn't confident in my physical strength, so I thought it might be okay to just go to the mossy forest, but I'm really glad I decided to go all the way to Taiko Rock! The view from the top of Taiko Rock was amazing! Since I had gone on the Jomon Sugi tour the day before, this tour felt short and easy in comparison.

最初は体力に自信がなかったので、苔むす森まででもいいかなぁ～と思っていたのですが、太鼓岩まで行くことにして本当に良かったです！太鼓岩まで登りきった時の景色は最高でした！
前日に縄文杉ツアーに行っていたので、このツアーが短く楽に感じてしまいました。

I participated alone and wasn't confident in my physical strength, but I was able to go all the way and come back!

Unlike other tours, we traveled to the trailhead by a dedicated vehicle, so I could sleep on the way (although I was too captivated by the starry night sky outside the window to actually sleep…). It was great that we weren't rushed on the way back either, so I could relax. The guide was a very kind and friendly young person.

Before reaching Jomon Sugi, there are many impressive cedar trees, which made Jomon Sugi seem a bit overshadowed, but the mystical atmosphere of Jomon Sugi is still unmatched. The sense of achievement is incredible!!

There were various people climbing, from small children to the elderly, so if you're a bit worried, why not give it a try? (^ -^)

１人参加で、体力にも自信がなかったのですが、最後まで行って帰って来られました！

他のツアーと違って、登山口まで専用車で行くので、行きは車内で寝られるし(でも、車内から見た夜空の満点の星に夢中で実際は寝られず…)、帰りも時間を気にせず急かされないのでとても良かったです。ガイドさんはとても優しく親切な若い方でした。

縄文杉にたどり着く前にたくさんの立派な杉があるので、縄文杉がかすんでしまう位でしたが、やはり神秘的な雰囲気は縄文杉が勝ります。ものすごい達成感がありますよ！！

小さなお子さんやお年寄りの方まで、色々な人が登っていたので、ちょっと心配している方もチャレンジしてみては？(^-^)

As a private guide, they adjusted the pace according to our fitness level, allowing us to walk comfortably and enjoyably. Since it was a long distance, I initially had some concerns, but they taught us about the flora and fauna along the way, as well as the history of Yakushima, and answered our questions accurately. I'm really glad we chose to go with them this time. I would like to request their services again when I visit Yakushima. For those who are going soon, I think it would be smooth to purchase round-trip bus tickets in advance at the tourist center.

プライベートガイドということで、私たちの体力を見ながらペース調整してくださり、安心して楽しく歩けました。長距離なので当初は不安もありましたが、道々の動植物、屋久島の歴史など教えていただきつつ、こちらの質問にも的確に答えてくださったので今回お願いして本当に良かったと思います。また屋久島に行く際はお願いしたいです。なおこれから行かれる方へ、バスの往復チケットは事前に観光センターで購入しておくとスムーズだと思います。

The veteran guide was amazing! They provided clear explanations while mixing in puns and little anecdotes. Not only did they explain the Yakusugi trees, but they also shared a lot about various plants like flowers and moss. They were attentive to our pace and stamina, and looking back, I feel they offered a lot of encouragement during the monotonous stretches of the trolley path.

There were so many recommended photo spots from the guide, and each time I handed over my camera, I thought it might have been better to just let them keep it, as they took so many great shots. At the start, I was worried about whether I could keep up this pace, but with breaks for restroom stops and resting with our backpacks at key points, I think they did a great job of helping us refresh our spirits.

At the spring water refill points, they always checked in with us, and the miso soup they made for lunch was fantastic. Even though it was hot enough to make us sweat, drinking warm miso soup was so comforting. I was grateful they brought a thermos for that.

While our goal was to see Jomon Sugi, every sight along the way and the journey itself became truly wonderful memories. I want to visit Yakushima again, and I would love to request the same guide for a tour of different locations. Thank you so much!

Lastly, about the weather and clothing:

There were some cloudy moments, but it was mostly sunny. It wasn't cold at all. It seems that until last week, it was cold enough for snow to remain, but warm days without rain have continued. Because of this, the flowers seemed to start blooming early.

- Collared long-sleeve shirt (I wanted to take it off at one point)
- Sleeveless fleece (I took it off right at the first break)
- Waterproof outer layer
- Under tights
- Trekking pants

ベテランガイドさんは最高でいた！
ダジャレや小ネタを挟みながらも、要所要所できちんとした解説。屋久杉だけでなく草花や苔等の植物の解説も沢山して頂きました。
私たちのペース、体力も気に掛けて頂き、後から考えると単調に続くトロッコ道での解説、声掛けが特に多かったように思います。
写真もガイドさんお勧めポイントがとても沢山あって、その度にカメラを渡すのですが、ずっと預けていた方が良いのではないかと思うほど沢山撮って頂きました。
歩き始めた時はこのペースでずっと歩けるのかと不安になりましたが、トイレ休憩も含めザックを下ろしての休憩も要所要所であり、私たちを上手く気分転換させてくれていたと思います。
湧き水の給水ポイントでは必ず声掛けをして頂きましたし、お昼ご飯の時に作って頂いたお味噌汁はサイコーでした。汗をいっぱいかくほど暑いのに温かいお味噌汁を飲むとホッとしました。そのための保温水筒を背負ってきてくれていたと思うと感謝でした。
縄文杉を見に行く事が目的でしたが、見るもの全て、そこに至るまでの行程が本当に素敵な思い出になりました。
また屋久島に来たいと思いましたし、また今日のガイドさんにお願いして違う場所を巡りたいと思えるツアーでした。
本当にありがとうございました。

最後に天候と服装です。

曇るときもありましたが概ね晴れ。
寒くはなかったです。
先週まで雪も残るほど寒かったとは思えないほど、雨も降らず暖かい日が続いていたそうです。そのため花も早く咲き始めていたようでした。

Shiratani Unsuikyo was worth participating in. However, it felt like not everyone could enjoy it because the guide was only talking to one person and didn't consider the pace for the whole group.

白谷雲水峡は、参加した甲斐がありました。ガイドさんが1人の方とばかり話して全体のペースをみずに歩いていたので、参加全員が楽しめなかったように感じました。

I had applied for rainwear rental, but there was an unexpected leak... Even during the phone call the day before, I mentioned the rental, but I was told, "The rental is separate." I can't help but feel that there may be a flaw in the connection with the website.

レンタルでレインウェアを申し込んでいたのにまさかのモレ...
前日の電話でもレンタルの話を出したのに
「レンタルは別です」とのこと。
サイトとの連携に不備があるのではないかと感じざるを得ません。

The return boat was scheduled for 13:30, which was quite early, and I was told I wouldn't make it to other tours. However, since we departed early in the morning, we were able to climb to Taiko Rock and catch the boat without any issues.

Many of the other climbers didn't have guides, but thanks to our guide, I was able to notice rocks and trees that I might have missed otherwise. It was also really enjoyable to hear behind-the-scenes stories from when various media came to visit.

帰りの船が13:30と早目で、他のツアーには間に合わないと言われてしまったのですが、こちらは早朝に出発してくれたため、太鼓岩まで登って、無事船にも乗れました。

他の登山客は、割とガイドをつけてない方が多かったのですが、ガイドさんがいてくれるお陰で見逃してしまいそうな岩、木々も目に止めることができ、色々なメディアがやって来たときの裏話なども聞けてとても楽しかったです。

I participated in a round-trip trekking tour to Jomon Sugi that took ten hours. Since the flat trolley path continues for a long time, I think it would have been tough without a guide who shared bits of knowledge along the way. The trail itself is easy to walk, and my 50-year-old mother, who joined me, was able to reach Jomon Sugi safely. Even my sister, who hardly exercises, managed to go without any difficulty, so I don't think there's much to worry about in terms of physical fitness.

縄文杉まで往復十時間のトレッキングツアーに参加しました。
平坦なトロッコ道が長時間続くので、ちょこちょこと知識を教えてくれるガイドさんがいないと、きつかったなと思います。
道事態は歩きやすく、一緒に参加した50歳の母も無事縄文杉までたどり着けましたし、日ごろほとんど運動していない社会人の姉も難なく行くことができたので体力面の心配はそこまで不要かと思います。
