Since it was forecasted to rain in the afternoon, we decided to go from Shiratani to Jomon Sugi instead of the usual route from Jomon Sugi to Shiratani. By the time we were walking on the tramway, it started to rain, but we rushed ahead to catch the 5 PM bus, walking at an incredible speed and overtaking several other tours. We were so focused on keeping up that we couldn't enjoy the scenery around us. We never even mentioned wanting to return on the 5 PM bus.
To top it all off, when we finally arrived at the bus stop just before 5 PM, there were too many passengers, and we couldn't get on. The guide then strongly told me it was our fault for being late! He ordered us to buy bus tickets quickly, but since we didn't know how, we had to ask others around us for help. Shouldn't a guide assist with that?
We were told to place our backpacks near the entrance while waiting for the bus, but no one else did. Normally, I would expect the guide to put down his own backpack in such situations. I felt there was a complete lack of consideration. When it was time to board the bus, he casually slipped in behind us. It was frustrating. The return shuttle ride was rough and scary. Overall, it was a very disappointing tour.
Given that work style reforms have been recommended for quite some time, shouldn't the guide's working conditions be reviewed? If fatigue leads to poor judgment and an accident, it could have serious consequences. I would like to visit Yakushima again, but I will never use your tours again.
この日は午後から雨予報だったので通常の縄文杉→白谷ではなく白谷→縄文杉で行きました。
朝の送迎の時からガイドはバスの時間を気にしてました。5連続でガイドをして疲れているらしく17時のバスで帰りたそうな気配をすでに感じ取れました。その後、この話は何度もされ早く帰らなきゃと気を使いました。
行きは適度に休憩を取り写真も撮ってくれて厳しい道のりでしたが楽しんで歩けていました。が、縄文杉からの折り返しは一変し、ガイドすることもなくひたすらスタスタを歩いて行ってしまいました。たった3人だけのツアーなのに10人位いるかのような間隔の遠さで途中からガイドツアーなのかフリーなのかと錯覚するほど。他のツアーの方々が羨ましかったです。友人の靴が壊れてしまった際も近くにいた他のガイドが応急処置を促したのにも関わらず先を急いでいるのでスルーされました。結局、友人の靴は悲惨な事になり他のガイドが見かねて処置をしてくれました。トロッコ道を歩く頃には雨が降り出したのですが17時のバスに間に合わせようと凄い速さで歩き進めました。他のツアーを何組も抜かす程でした。友人の靴を気にする事もなく雨で滑りやくなっているのにスピードは落ちませんでした。私たちはついて行くのに必死すぎて周りの景色なんて楽しめませんでした。そもそも17時のバスで帰りたいなんて一言も言ってませんけどね。極め付けは、やっとのおもいで何とか17時前にバス停に着いたものの乗客が沢山いすぎて乗れなかった際にガイドが私に向かって遅かったからだ！と強く言い放ちました。バスのチケットを早く買えと命令してくるもチケットの買い方なんて知らない我々は周りの方に聞きながら買いました。ガイドならそこまで案内するべきではないですか？なんなんですかね。バスの順番待ちにリュックを入り口付近へ置くように言われましたが私たち以外には置いた人はいませんでした。普通、そういう時はガイドが自分のリュックを置くと思うのですが？配慮のかけらもない方だと思いました。バス乗車時には何食わぬ顔で私たちの後ろにスッと入ってきました。嫌気がさしました。帰りの送迎も運転が荒く怖かったです。後味悪すぎるツアーとなりました。
働き方改革はずいぶん前から推奨されているのでガイドの勤務体制を見直すべきではないでしょうか？過労により判断を誤って事故を起こしたら取り返しがつかなくなりますよ。屋久島にはまた来たいと思いますが御社のツアーは二度と利用しません。

I chose this plan to make the most of my time in Kyushu during my assignment. On the day of the hike, we were fortunate to have no rain and enjoyed a refreshing breeze along the way, making for great conditions. Our guide, Tsugimura, not only had an impressive amount of knowledge about each spot (the guide from another group that arrived at the same time ran out of things to say, which was amusing), but also kept us entertained with engaging talks and filming techniques using a GoPro. Thanks to him, I was able to enjoy the 12 and a half hours of the tour, even as someone who joined alone. Thank you very much.
I usually only play futsal once a month, so I was quite out of shape and exhausted, but I managed to keep up with the pace of those around me and walk until the end. The trails to Jomon Sugi, Taiko Rock, and Shiratani Unsuikyo were each quite challenging, so I feel that it was a good decision to tackle this tour in one day rather than splitting it over multiple days, both for physical stamina and to keep the itinerary compact.
As for equipment, I think trekking shoes are essential since there are many slippery areas (I bought a mid-cut pair for about 16,000 yen at Montbell after consulting with a staff member). Also, even during Golden Week, it felt generally cold, so having a long-sleeved jacket that can be taken on and off (like a windbreaker) would have been necessary.
I had some anxiety about whether I could make it through until the end, but I believe I had a truly wonderful experience feeling the beauty of nature at each spot, enjoying the pleasant breeze along the way, savoring the delicious lunch (and tonjiru) in the mountains, and experiencing the sense of achievement at the finish line. I highly recommend this tour to those who are considering it and do not have major concerns about their physical fitness (like those who were in sports clubs until high school).
せっかくの九州への赴任期間にしかできないこと、ということでGWを利用してこちらのプランを選びました。
当日は雨に降られることもなく、涼しい風に癒されながらの道中で恵まれたコンディションでしたが、それでも総計12時間半ほど登ったり下ったりのコースは体力的には厳しいものでした。特に太鼓岩の頂上までの急な勾配は一番苦しかった。。。でもそれを乗り越えた後の雄大な眺望は本当に素晴らしかったです。縄文杉と白谷雲水狭もしっかり見ることできましたし、ゴールまでたどり着いたときの達成感は何にも代えがたいものでした。
ガイドの津曲さんは、各スポットに関する知識量もさることながら（同じタイミングで到着した別隊のガイドさんが話す余白がなくなってました笑）、道中のきつさを忘れさせてくれるトークとGoPro等駆使した撮影テクニックで、とても盛り上げてくださいました。おかげで一人でツアーに飛び込んだ私も楽しみながら12時間半踏破することができました。ありがとうございました。
私は月に一度フットサルをやれば良いほうという運動不足人間で、ヘロヘロにはなりましたが、周囲のペースに特に遅れることもなく最後まで歩くことができました。縄文杉と太鼓岩・白谷雲水狭はそれぞれで大変な道中だったという体感ですので、体力的にも旅程をコンパクトにする意味でも、別々に日にちを分けて行くよりも勢いで1日で制覇してしまうこのツアーにしておいたのは正解だったような気がしています。
装備としては、滑りやすいところが多いのでトレッキングシューズは必須だと思いました（私はモンベルで店員さんに相談しながら16000円くらいのミッドカットのものを事前に買いました）。また、GWでも基本的には寒い印象でしたので、長袖の着脱できる上着（ウインドブレーカー）も無いと辛かったと思います。
私も実際に終えてみるまでは乗り切れるか不安に思っていたところがありましたが、縄文杉や太鼓岩、白谷雲水狭をはじめとする各スポットで感じる自然の美しさ、道中で感じる風の気持ちよさ、山で食べるお弁当（と豚汁）のおいしさ、ゴールで感じる達成感と本当に素晴らしい体験ができたと思っています。迷われている方で体力に大きな不安がない方（高校くらいまでは運動部だった方など）にはぜひおすすめしたいと思います。

初日は大雨警報が出るかもしれないということで、前日に中止のお知らせをいただきました。このような中止の為、全額返金してくださるとのことでした。せっかく屋久島まで来て縄文杉が見れずに帰るわけにはいかないと思い、2日間のトレッキングを１日日付をずらして参加したいと申し出た所、追加料金無く快く承諾して下さいました。
2日目のトレッキングツアーは16時に高速船に乗らないといけなかった為、16時までに港に着くよう、荷物は車内に預かって下さり、カッパや鞄、靴をレンタルしていたのですが、帰りに返却先まで連れて行ってくださり、港まで送ってくださりました。たいへん助かりました。
トレッキングツアー中は速くなく程よいペースで歩いてくださったので、険しい道のりでしたがなんとか縄文杉まで行き、帰って来ることができました。トレッキングは初めてで不安でしたが、ガイドさんのアドバイスもあり、なんとかケガも無くできました。トレッキング中はガイドさんが丁寧にいろいろ説明してくださり、いろいろ勉強になりました。写真スポットで素敵な写真をガイドさんがたくさん撮って下さり、嬉しかったです。トレッキング中は怖いところもいっぱい通りましたが、広大な自然がいっぱい見れて良かったです。レンタルのトレッキングシューズは清潔でとても歩きやすく、水溜まりに少しはまっても中が濡れることはなく、快適でした。上下のカッパも清潔で靴を履いたまま脱いだりはいたりできるズボンで、大雨の時も水が染み込む事なく快適でした。鞄も雨よけカバーが付いていて機能的でした。
ツアー中は雨が降ったりやんだりした天候で１日晴れの日はなかったです。
縄文杉までの道のりは長くたいへんでしたが、2日目の太古岩まで行くのは、縄文杉までよりは短い道のりでしたが、急な山道でたいへんでした。このトレッキングツアーに参加するには足腰を鍛えてから参加した方が良いと思いました。

初めてのトレッキングで白谷雲水峡+縄文杉の両方のコースで少し不安がありましたが、元気にゴールできました！
もとは縄文杉→白谷雲水峡の予定だったようですが、天候を考慮して順番を変えてもらったことで霧がないときに太鼓岩にたどり着くことができました。
縄文杉に着いたときはどしゃぶりでしたが、迫力満点でした。
森の中の植物を見たり、鳥の鳴き声を聞きながら説明していただいて自然を満喫できました。
険しい山道は合間に呼吸を整えながら、長くて平坦なトロッコ道ではたくさんのクイズを出してもらって楽しく歩くことができました。
私たちが楽しめるように数々の仕込みをしてくださり(ネタバレしてしまうと良くないので詳細は書かないでおきます笑)、写真や動画も撮っていただいて本当に大満足の1日でした！
これから行く予定の方は写真スポットでどんなポーズをするか候補を考えておく、写真で森の中に溶け込まないように明るめの色の服装にする、といいかもしれないですね笑

ゴールデンウィーク最終日にトレッキングツアーにご参加頂き、そして体験談への投稿誠にありがとうございます。
お二人とも普段からもしくは学生の頃にバスケを行っていたという事で、本来キツイ行程でしたが、弱音を吐かず終始元気で歩いていたので、ガイドのし甲斐がありました。
白谷雲水峡の苔むす森では霧が発生し、正直太鼓岩についても真っ白で何も見えないのでは？と思っていましたが、稜線も見え二人の感動している姿が見れて良かったです。
縄文杉手前で昼弁当を食べてる時に大雨が降り、食べずらかったと思いますが、それも屋久島の洗礼だと思って下さいね。

縄文杉のコースは雨が降ったら途中リタイアも考慮の上、プライベートガイドを依頼しました。
天気が良く、リタイアせずにすべての工程をこなす事ができました。
1日目のプライベートガイドさんは朝から帰る時間の事ばかりを話し、自分が早く帰りたいオーラがすごかったです。説明が非常に少なく、要所要所での写真も1枚ずつしか撮っていただけず、挙句の果てにウィルソン株の中に他のガイドがいるからその人から説明を聞いてと言われてしまいました。
ガイドさんのペースで引っ張って行ってもらうのは良いとして、ほかのガイドさんを見かけ親切な説明やたくさん写真を撮ってもらっている光景を見ると何のためのプライベートガイドなんだろうと思いました。
2日目、白谷雲水峡はグループツアーに参加しました。
大洋さんのおもてなしガイドで1日目と比較し大変楽しむ事ができました。
気遣いが有り、写真を撮る際にも楽しいポーズをたくさん教えていただき充実したトレッキングを楽しむ事ができました。
両名のガイドさんのおかげでケガも無く、安全に過ごせた事は感謝しております。

This was my second time visiting Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo. I was blessed with great weather and had an amazing hike, but the guide was quite cold towards beginners and showed no consideration at all. 今回縄文杉の帰り道、ガイドさんが16時のバスに乗りたかったのでしょう、とても早歩きで小走りでついていくのがやっとでした。
結局16時のバスには間に合いませんでした。
白谷雲水峡のときも遅れている人がいると、ブツブツ文句を言っていました。
登山口から宿泊先まで送ってもらうときの運転も荒く、山道でスマホを触ったり、カーブは対向車線にはみ出したりしていました。
今まで十数回ガイド付きのトレッキングツアーに参加しましたが、こんなに思いやりのないガイドさんは初めてでした。
また屋久島に行くことになれば、今回のガイドさん以外にお願いしたいです。

縄文杉から白谷雲水峡までを1日でまわるという、本来、天候リスクもあり、かなりハードなプランなのですが、出発前から丁寧なフォローの連絡を頂き状況に応じて二日間に分けてくださろうとしたり、とても配慮あるご対応でした。実際、霰や雪が降る厳しい状況でしたが、我々訪問者の状況に応じて進んでくださり、その道すがら心が折れないようクイズや色んな話で盛り上がりながら12時間の登山を無事終えることが出来ました。写真や動画も、素敵なカメラマン兼ディレクターの役割までしてくださって当日の夜に沢山いいものを送ってくださいました。
本来に最高の一日でした。

I was told that it was tough for beginners. I have some hiking experience, but this was my husband's third time hiking. The students we happened to go with were beginners, and their smiles disappeared around the mossy forest in the second half. At Taiko Rock, we were told that fog would cover the clouds, but luckily we could see the entire view and light shone through. Around the mossy forest, the fog returned, revealing the beautiful appearance of the forest.
The sense of accomplishment was incredible, but I truly believe that you need to have a strong mindset to tackle it.
初心者にはつらいと言われました。わたしは何度か登山経験があるのですが、夫は登山3回目で。たまたま一緒に行った学生の男の子たちは初心者で、後半の苔むす森あたりから笑顔が消えてました。体力と気力でなんとか歩き切ることができましたがものすごくしんどかったです。
所々写真スポットがあり、ガイドさんがしっかり写真を撮ってくれました。屋久島での滞在期間を考えると1日で有明所を行けるのはありがたかったです。旅のいい思い出になりました。
朝は小雨だったのですがウィルソン株までは日が差して青空でした。縄文杉に行くと霧がかかり幻想的な風景ができました。太鼓岩で霧で雲もかかると言われましたが運良く全貌が見渡せて光が差しました。苔むす森あたりはまた霧がかかりきれいな森の姿が見えました。
達成感はすごかったですが、強い気持ちを持たないと本当にきびしいと思います。

We created this course based on requests from customers who wanted to visit Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo in one day. While it's manageable for those with good stamina, it can be a challenging course for beginners or those lacking physical fitness, so it's great to hear you were able to reach the goal.

「縄文と白谷どちらも行くの？！」と宿の方にも観光協会のお姉さんにも事前に脅されていました(笑) そんなにも大変なのか、とビクビクしながら当日を迎えましたが、、、本当に楽しかったです！！これはガイドさんのお力が半分以上、あとはメンバーに恵まれたのも大きかったと思います。正直なところ、ガイド付き山行はあんまり期待していなかった（一緒に参加した友達と楽しく登れたらな〜ぐらいに考えていた）のですが、今回に関しては行く人皆さまにおすすめしたいです。土地にまつわる知識、ユニークな写真の撮り方、山行を飽きさせない、疲れを感じさせないトークゲーム。最後に「楽しかったー!!」で終われたのは、ガイドさんのおかげです。ありがとうございました！

We took a trip to Yakushima during the four-day holiday in late November. Normally, we rarely use tours when traveling, but this time we participated in this tour and were very satisfied.

On the second day, the Shiratani Unsuikyo tour was affected by rain that had continued since the night before, so we were prepared to change to a tour of Yakushima Island if the weather was bad. We were fully equipped with raincoats. The guide, Mr. Arima, carefully checked the rain conditions and made the judgment that we could manage to go to Taiko Rock. In the morning, it was raining heavily to the point where we thought, "If it keeps raining like this, we might have to cancel." If we had gone individually instead of joining the tour, we would have definitely spent the day in the hotel. 普段の旅行では滅多にツアーを利用しない私たちなのですが、今回はこちらのツアーに参加して大変満足しております。
1日目の縄文杉ツアーの日はガイドさん（すみません、お名前忘れてしまいました）が、「コロナ禍のここ2年で最高の参加人数、まるでお祭りだね。」とおっしゃっていたように臨時バスが出るほどの大人数でした。ガイドさんの多くが久々のツアー客の多さに興奮しておられているようで、何だか私たちまでワクワクしたスタートでした。夜明け前からトロッコ道を歩き出し、ただひたすら歩き、そして歩き、また歩き、いつまで続くのやらと思っていた頃にようやく登山道入り口に到着でした。ウィルソン株はもちろんですが、要所要所で休憩を兼ねて撮影タイムを取りながらの、縄文杉にご対面でした。帰路はガイドさんが列の最後尾に付かれ、参加者が交代で先頭を歩きました。ガイドさんのペース配分や気配りが素晴らしく、１０時間ほど歩いた割にはあまり疲労感はなくとても楽しいトレッキングでした。縄文杉始め、数多くの杉に触れ、大自然を満喫することができました。
2日目の白谷雲水峡ツアーは前夜から続いている雨のため、途中まで行って天候が悪ければ屋久島の島内観光に変更しましょうという状況でした。レインコートフル装備で臨みました。ガイドの有馬さんが、細かく雨の状況をチェックしてくださり、これなら行けるかもという判断で何とか太鼓岩まで行くことができました。朝の時点で、「こんなに降っていたらキャンセルかもね。」というくらいの大雨だったので、ツアーに参加せずに個人で行っていたら間違いなく一日ホテルで過ごしていることになっていたと思います。最初から最後まで楽しい話題満載で案内していただき、私たちも雨の中の煩わしさなど全く感じることなく楽しく参加させていただきました。
お二人のガイドさんの経験・知識がとても豊富でしたので、安心してそして何より楽しませていただけたことにとても感謝しています。
初日のガイドさんの「屋久島ではひと月のうち35日は雨が降ります」と屋久島を表現されていたことが印象的でした。
多くの方が屋久島を訪れる状況に戻れるように願います。

On the first day, the Jomon Sugi trek saw the highest number of climbers in the past two years, aside from the Go To Travel campaign, due to the impact of COVID-19. While fewer people make for easier walking, I imagine the many climbers starting from the Arakawa trailhead added to the excitement. Over the 10 hours from start to finish, it was essential to keep moving, but it seems we managed to control the breaks, explanations, and photo opportunities well, which is a relief for me as the person in charge.
On the second day, I was worried that we might have to cancel the Shiratani Unsuikyo trek due to the weather just before the water levels rose, but I'm glad we were able to proceed. While sunny weather is generally easier for walking, experiencing the rain on Yakushima, which is known for having the most rainfall in Japan, has likely become a memorable part of your trip.

1日目の縄文杉は、コロナの影響を受けた2年間でgotoトラベル以外では一番の登山者数でしたね。
全体が少ない方が歩きやすいですが、多くの登山者が荒川登山口を歩きだすと、気合が入ったのではないでしょうか。

Since it was my first solo trip in a while and I didn't have much mountain climbing experience, I was a bit anxious about visiting Shiratani Unsuikyo and Jomon Sugi in one day. We set off early at 4:30 AM, and while the starry sky was beautiful, I was nervous starting the climb since I needed a light to walk on the mountain path. However, our guide, Tsugimura, and the two other participants were very friendly, and we got really into the various quiz topics Tsugimura presented. We also took lots of photos and videos, making it a fun experience beyond just tracking. I still wonder if I really walked close to 40,000 steps in one day! Fortunately, the weather was great, and it didn't rain, which made the views from Taiko Rock and Jomon Sugi unforgettable memories. Thank you very much!
思い切ってこちらのコースに申し込んで本当に良かったです！久しぶりの1人旅かつ山登り経験もあまりなかったことから、1日で白谷雲水峡→縄文杉をまわることに不安を感じてました。当日早朝4時半出発で満天の星空は綺麗なものの、山道はライトを付けないと歩けずドキドキで登り始めました。が、ガイドの津曲さんや一緒に参加されたお2人とも気さくな方で、津曲さんからの様々なお題のクイズに熱中したり、写真や動画撮りをしていただいたりと、トラッキング以外にも楽しいことが盛りだくさんだったので、1日で4万歩近く本当に歩いたのかなと今でも思います！また天気にも恵まれて珍しく雨も降らなかったようで、太鼓岩からの景色も縄文杉等も忘れられない思い出になりました。ありがとうございました！

During this time of year, it is better to start from the Arakawa Trailhead, see Jomon Sugi, and then finish at Shiratani Unsuikyo (as most of Shiratani Unsuikyo is quite dark). However, based on the feedback from participants, we started from Shiratani Unsuikyo. (Walking through Shiratani Unsuikyo in the second half can be tough.)
Nevertheless, seeing the starry sky at the start gave me confidence that it would be a great day.
Walking both Shiratani Unsuikyo and the Jomon Sugi course in one day is challenging, but thanks to you and the other two participants, we were able to reach the goal safely.

この時期は、荒川登山口から出発し、縄文杉を見た後に白谷雲水峡にゴールする方が良いのですが（白谷雲水峡の殆どが真っ暗な為）、事前に参加者にヒアリングした結果、
白谷雲水峡から出発しましたね。（後半、白谷雲水峡を歩く方がツライ）
しかし出発する時の満天の星空を見れて、良い日になると確信しました。
1日で白谷雲水峡と縄文杉コースを歩くのは大変ですが、中トトロ様と他2名様のお陰で無事にゴールする事が出来ました。
天気にもお客様にも恵まれました。
