    After meeting your guide, head to the Funatsu Lava Tree Mold by bus.
  • 10:05 Funatsu Lava Tree Mold (50 min)
    600x600tour-tracefootsteps-ofpilgrimsmt-fuji-3242-860-20180804-3 Step into a sacred place of worship. The trees covered in lava create an area that resembles the insides of a human body. The deepest area is like a mother's womb upon which pilgrims prayed for their rebirth.

  • 11:35 Kamiyoshida Area (20-25 min)
    Once used as a lodging area for pilgrims and Shinto priests, this district still has many historical inns. Take a stroll through the retro area for lovely photos.
  • 12:00 Former House of the Togawa Family (30-35 min)
    With a history of 250 years, visit the house of a former Shinto priest that practiced and taught the worship of Mt. Fuji to pilgrims that came to visit. See some historical artifacts that are on display.
  • 12:40 Lunch (30-40 min)

  • 13:30 Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine (40-45 min)

Fuji worship, pilgrims would pay visits to this shrine to purify themselves and pray for their safety during their pilgrimage.

    Make your way back to Mt. Fuji Station while enjoying the view.

    *The walk back to the station is around 30 minutes. Please make sure to wear comfortable shoes.

    • Guests with claustrophobia should not enter the Lava Tree Molds.
    • Guests with back or knee problems will not be able to enter the deepest area in the Lava Tree Molds.
    • Children 6 years old and above can participate in this activity.
