  • 10:20 Bodai-tei (30 min)
    Head up to the main shrine by climbing up a steep 287 stone stairs. Make sure to wear sneakers or shoes made to walk up the 104 meter (34 feet) high climb.
  • 10:50 Kuon-ji Temple

As you explore the temple, see the giant hand drawn dragon painting on the ceiling.

    Make way to the treasure house where you can see many important cultural properties that are only displayed at the temple. Take this opportunity to try your hand at Sutra Copying at the temple with helpful assistance.

    Admission fee (JPY 300 per person) for yourself and the guide will be needed.
  • Grave of Captain James
    Arriving in Japan in 1866, Captain John M. James was a British Captain who established the Japanese navy. He was one of the few European people who converted into Nichiren Buddhism and was cremated in Mt. Minobu.
