  • 10:00 Orientation and Temple Tour
    Main Buddha hall Upon arrival at the temple, you will be greeted by friendly monks who will give you a brief introduction into life inside the monastery as well as relay important things to keep in mind during your stay.
  • 11:00 Traditional Korean Culture
    Buddhist rosary Get to know Buddhist culture and traditions as you experience how to make a Buddhist rosary, lotus lantern or paint traditional temple paintwork called Dancheong. A fun way to gain insights into the world of Korean Buddhism.
  • 12:00 Lunch
    Baru-Gongyang (monastic meal offering) Complete your monastic experience dining peacefully with the monks. Savor a hearty serving of vegetarian meals on the floor, eating in silence and sitting erect. Everything on the bowl is to be consumed completely; not one grain wasted. This is done in respect to all life and people.
  • 13:00 Tour Ends at The Plaza Hotel Lobby
    • Smoking and drinking alcohol is not allowed inside the temple.
    • The meals provided on this tour are vegetarian only.
    • If less than 3 participants are booked, the activity may not operate.
    • Children 7 years old and above can participate in this activity.

    • No sleeveless, collarless shirts or T-shirts
    • No short pants
    • No mini skirts
    • No clothing that exposes a large amount of skin
    • No see-through fabrics

    • Because the monastery is a religious sanctuary, participants are advised to refrain from showing public displays of affection, singing, dancing and playing loud music.
Additional Note(s)
    • Please be at the check-in location 15 minutes prior to departure time. You will be met by the driver holding a "Templestay" sign.
    • The activity schedule is subject to change or cancellation due to weather, traffic conditions and temple situations.
