The Singapore Botanic Garden's inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage list marks many firsts. The first Singapore site in the UNESCO list and the first time an Asian botanical garden is recognized. A tropical oasis in the middle of the city near Orchard Road, the Singapore Botanic Garden has transformed from a British experimental garden into a state-of-the-art research institution specializing in botany and conservation with an extensive plant collection and a unique family nature attraction.
Covering over 80 hectares, there are four entrances to the Singapore Botanic Garden namely the Tanglin, Tyersall Gallop, Nassim and Bukit Timah entrances. Notable gardens and sites of interests include:

Tanglin Entrance - Bandstand (site of the famous gazebo)

- Swan Lake
- Botany Centre and Green Pavilion

Tyersall Gallop Entrance - Ginger Garden (with a mini waterfall)
- National Orchid Garden
