With a history spanning almost a millenia and dating from the 4th century, My Son Sanctuary has been the religious and political center of the Champa kingdom, circled by mountains and fertile valleys. The sanctuary is made of brick tower temples and pillars dedicated to Hinduism, primarily to the deities Krishna, Vishnu and Shiva. Vietnam's My Son Sanctuary was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999 and can be visited by day tours from Hoi An and Da Nang.
