Skip the line Louvre tour

Reviewed by: Wally, 2019/06/19

Very good experience! The Louvre is huge and there is a ton to see. With this tour you are really only getting highlights since there are about 35000 pieces to see. The amount of people there are nuts! The tour guide was very good and informative. If I had to offer one suggestion...(this is a personal preference and some people might have a different preference) ...spend as much time as possible looking at the pieces as opposed to the history of the Louvre. Some history is good but I felt like it was a little too much since I was interested a lot more than what was inside the building as opposed to the building itself. That being said, the price of the tour is well worth the money just to skip the line alone. Especially if you dont have a lot of time.

The highlights of the louvre

An informed visit, but sadly the guides microphone was inefficient.
Interesting to hear the history of the Louvre.
It is so large that it needs several visits to enjoy it properly

  • Great to see it "in the flesh"!!

tour itself was very good.

What a great thing to skip that incredibly long line... Our guide Louis was very considerate, a great guy with extraordinary deep knowledge regarding the pieces of art and the Louvre building itself.

It's a good way to get into the Louvre and find your way around. The guide also gave a bit of an art lesson as she took the group through the galleries. This was quite helpful.

This was a highlight tour and we did indeed see all the headliners. The guide had problems with her audio system and had to hand hold it the entire time but she managed quite well. If you only have a few hours to see the Louvre, this is the tour!

Felt a bit long in places, but with such a HUGE Museum, that's to be expected... The guide was really great, and I really enjoyed seeing the Mona Lisa in person... Thoroughly enjoyed it!

We enjoyed the tour, as it suited our needs. We had 2 small children who could not withstand the longer tours. The tour guide was helpful and knowledgeable. The only downside to the experience was the difficulty in finding the City Discovery office.

In two hours you see the most important things. It's a bit stressful, but after you have time to walk around by yourself. It's worth booking in advance. The queue is horrible. We wanted to have translation in German. Unfortunately, there was only English available for us.

the guide was very knowledgable but we saw very little thing because of the sizeof the museum and the amount of pieces. The tour could be broken down int specifics such as Greece masterpieces. roman masterpieces, the renaisance masterpieces egypt etc.

The guide was extremely knowledgeable but it was very hard to hear everything he said because of other groups close by - would be improved by use of individual headphone sets - otherwise thought it was just as I expected. Order of exhibits great - especially Mona Lisa last!

I really enjoyed the tour, we only had a few hours to tour the louvre and this was the best way to hit the major points and learn a lot in the process. We would have been so lost on our own. Our guide was friendly and very funny. Thanks!
